I don’t grow in airpots myself but I understand how they work. If the long roots are only on the underside of the pot, that's fine... they just haven't been exposed to the air and therefore haven't been "pruned" ... none of them, however, should be seen growing wider than the diameter of the pot ... in other words, I'm sure you're not seeing them creep out from under the pot when it's sitting on the tray. They're actually getting pruned when they TRY to grow wider than the pot - you just don't notice it!
(And btw DutchDoobie, when your profile says you’ve got 4 diaries and one is mushrooms, one is a building project, one is a one-week harvest “report” and the other one show plants growing in ordinary plastic pots, you really shouldn’t be lying to this grower… just tell them you know how the airpots work and explain it!)
