Planted seed into jiffy pellet, left town to catch up with mate and forgot to tell the missus to keep an eye on it. Came home 5 days later, jiffy pellet dry as a bone. Thought nothing to lose might as well water it as its probably not going to germinate. Amazingly about 2 days later a little stem poked out!
Mixing up the nutrients, this week a bit stronger with just the CX A & B. Also adding CaFe (calcium and iron solution, locally made here in NZ).
Sadly I can only guess plant height as didn't record it, later on I have recorded it.
Also no training techniques yet, probably should have by now but this is my second grow.
Previous week had done the stop all other nutrients except for might and headmasta. Running my small heater in tent as its middle of winter and its cold.
Probably every second watering I'm adding a small does of calcium due to coco medium.
Had removed some leaves earlier but needs some more, light LST but plan to do more.
Plant has really kicked off with growth and small heads developing along with smell.
Watering now about every 2 days, 5 litres at a time with the various CX nutrients. Usually its 2-3mL/L of A & B, 1mL/L of growth, bloom, head, root & wilt.
This particular day was a high EC, usually I do about 2.5 but always try to range the pH between high 5 and low 6.
Aim to keep light about 15cm from top of canopy while doing a 18/6 regime.
Gave plant a defoliation after the photo
I would definitely grow this strain again. Auto is great for us newbies and this plant seemed pretty forgiving. Also amazingly the plant germinated after I planted the seed, left the jiffy to dry out for 5 days (was away from home, forgot to tell the missus to water it), rewatered it and quite surprisingly it germinated.
Next time I grow it I'll defoliate it more and do a better job of the LST along with a 20/4 light schedule.
So from the photos you can see I left the big branches on which increases the wet weight of 39 ounces. I was hopeful of double digit dry bud but ended up with bang on 7 ounces of slightly over dried bud. I've got 7 big jars and the Boveda 62% sachets to cure them.
But what from I'm told 7 ounces of one plant isn't too bad for a rank amateur into his second grow. The first grow was bit of a disaster as I was paranoid about burning the plants (1 x wedding cheesecake and 2 x lemon pie) and had the light way too high and the poor plants struggled to fully develop.
Also for my next harvest I'll try to do a week by week diary rather than the 2 week one I've done.
