I know this is a really late start but I have a real way to do this this late. They pooped on 8/20 and took the pics 8/21. Doing great so far they are fully outdoors right now and when my temps start to get uneasy they will go to the greenhouse. One is in a felt fabric 5 gallon pot and the other is in a poly canvas is grow bag approximately 8 gallons. The breeder says they can finish in as fast as 65 days let’s see what happens they will always have full sun even when they move to the greenhouse. Currently outside temps are 80-85F daytime, nighttime 65-70F. Sheltered from wind but still receiving a breeze of about 5mph. 65 days from now our temps average daytime 55-65F and nighttime 45-50F when my average nighttime temp dips to 55F they will move to the greenhouse. Full glass walls every direction light availability. Has built in shades that roll out for temp control and red lava rock for the floor to help with heat retention during the evening. Other heat retention items include 55gal water drums full painted black as well as a automatic ventilation system that comes on at 75F.
So far so good they look great and are on there way. Wish me luck and check out my other current diaries.
Update: It has been a productive week they have grown 3 full nodes in the first week very nice.
I am sorry about the bad pics. My iPhone went through a riding lawn mower it fell out of my pocket while I was cutting grass. So I am using my old phone e and it doesn't take nice pics like my iPhone does should have a new one soon. But on to the plants they have been doing great and showing a lot of new growth. They should finish nice.
Update they are really starting to move now they are taking to there large pots nicely.
Added some composted rabbit manure to the top of the soil for a nutrient boost they are starting to move fast they look as though they will start flowering very soon as the pre flower hairs are showing.
I am facing a problem I have 2 auto's facing some overnight lows that will be around 40F/4C average 50's till Nov. daytime temps range 65-75f/18-24C they in flower about 6weeks old. Always full sun. These overnights will be temporary, nothing for 15 days after. Will they be ok?
Most canna will be fine with night time 40s. Below 40 gets risky. Ruderalis/auto genetics should be more resilient in cold temps, I wouldn’t worry personally.
They appear to be in pots. Pull em inside on the super cold nights if you’re really concerned.
I’ve had 6 plants outdoor this season and I’ve had 37-38 lows a few nights already and they’re totally fine
I bit the bullet and move them to the indoor grow. I was really hoping to finish these off outdoors but our night time temps are now nearing 2C and days are barely hitting 12C. So they spent the last week acclimating to there new room and have done incredibly well they literally exploded with bud growth doubling in size in 1 week. They are a really strong strain. They are also now on the full 20hr light schedule the others are on. Sorry that week 7 is missing that was the week i got them used to the light schedule.
This has been my favorite to grow she isn't very big but her buds are massive. She takes everything you throw at her and puts it to use. The other plant that was growing our cat decided to dig up and found it withered on the grow room floor the next morning. This was my fault as the cat was just being a cat and I left the door open. But at least it wasn't by itself.
