All 5 seeds successful! Not all of them had the same primary root length, and I think I’ll make sure it’s at least 5mm long before I plant them.

Received tent and fabric pots, much more professional looking now :) However, one plant is way smaller than the others for no particular reason.

Turns out 750 mL every other day was not enough (droopy leaves), so I switched to 1 L every other day aaaaand found out that soil is too dry… So it’ll be a 1L/day watering from now on! Leaves looking better after a dozen hours ;) Anyway plants seem to be growing by the minute! Gotta crank up the light each day and two of them now reach 60 cm! Huge thanks to GrowingGrannie for the link about defoliation: super useful and helped a lot in the process! Smell getting more present and I think it’s only gonna get worse ’^_^

I wonder whether trimming the lower (big) leaves would be beneficial? Because they’re all shaded now but maybe they participate in the transpiration process at night?

If they aren't covering any potential bud nodes, I'd leave them. Only reasons to defoliate is to increase light to bud nodes and airflow around the center of the plant. I hope this helps.

Two of the 5 plants have almost reach their final height and are blooming nicely. One is only 40 cm high but has many many flowers, we’ll see what happens next. Another one was one week behind but is catching up nicely, and the lil guy is getting some LST, hopefully to a star shape in the end 😁 Soil seems to dry a bit slower than in the previous weeks, so I’ll give them 1L every other day. I’ll also go easier on the nutrients from now on, like nutrients at every other waterings or one in three waterings… Based on replies to my question, I understood that phenotypes are different and identical strain may result in very different looking plants 😁 As advised by AsNoriu, I'll try super cropping on the two big girls for more efficient light distribution. Stay tuned and thanks for the tip! Update : OK so super cropping was definitely a scary experience, but I think it went well and was necessary, based on the somehow flat canopy I have come up with. I am confident that the heads on bent apexes will go back to a vertical position. Update : 24 hours later, plants are looking great, all heads are now proudly pointing towards the LEDs. Super cropping was definitely a success (thx AsNoriu for the suggestion)! Update : a somehow sunny week-end allowed me to take all plants out, and they seem to have loved it! Noticed little buds on some of them.

I really wonder how this guy can have so many flowers, while being half as tall as the two big ones? Maybe it started to flower early, or there was a mistake on SensiSeeds’ side and it’s a different strain?

they all stretch out , i would consider supercroping all tops, think were you will fall them, that way all canopy will be even your inner nod spacing says its too weak light for them, so otherwise all bottoms will be pure popcorn air give small chair or anything, for that smaller girl if needed now with is it same strain ? you have two brothers or a friend with couple, do you all look the same ? that's the answer to your question ;) Happy Growing !!!

I'll try to defoliate only when required from now on, because the soil seems to dry out far more slowly than it used to. In order to provide enhanced lighting to the lil guy, I removed the red&blue LED bars and mounted them on a plate just for him. Also cut off a branch from the 50 cm guy with many flowers and will try to clone it, but since it is nowhere near young, it'll most likely fail…

Is it normal that the stem turns brownish at the bending site, on all four supercropped plants? It must be, since all flowers and leaves are looking perfectly healthy on the bent apexes, but still I wonder whether it may become weak spots later. Thanks!

Trichomes are more and more visible, giving a pleasant frosty look. Smell gets heavier somehow, which I love. As expected, early LST results in many more heads on the bonsaï. This was, I think, my biggest mistake at first and I'll remember this for future grows. It's hard to maintain humidity below 70%, since I don't have the required equipment yet, but I'll look into it. update: OK, I think I'll get a 40€ dehumidifier, should do the trick and allow me to approach the sweet spot on the VPD chart ;) update: dehumidifier was installed last night, but still humidity was 83% this morning. I’ll try some heating because temperature is around 19°C at night.

I’m having a very hard time coping with humidity (goes up to 85%), since I physically cannot get the airflow outside my house for various reasons. I open the window each morning, but could it lead to rottening in the late stages of flowering? Thanks for your replies ;)

Is the up to 85% just for an hour or two or for extended times? Theoretically you can compensate a bit with enough heat and airflow, but 85% is really high if it's more than just a moment. Is the air outside the tent as high? If the tent has higher humidity than outside, just increase the airflow speed - with more output the air exchanges faster and should get closer to room RH. If the room is as moist, you might want to consider getting a dehumidifier for your tent (or room), and also try if open windows add or lower the RH, as depending where you live the air might even be more humid than indoors. If your plant experiences these levels of humidity for extended periods of time, it is very likely you'll experience rot/mold issues and stress the plant with the environment. I would explore above mentioned options to bringing the RH down. Generally under 60% is safe zone if there's enough airflow but in flower for optimal conditions you want it closer to 40%. To look up ideal values depending on your temperature and grow/flower phase, you might want to check out VPD chart for cannabis. It's a great guide for the correct ratio of temperature v. humidity incl danger zones.

The dehumidifier did not work so well at first, but now that I have switched on the heater and reached a constant 24°C, things are getting better and I’ve managed to reach a humidity between 50 and 60% (opening the window from time to time helps). It’s still around 73% in the morning, but fresh air from the outside for a few minutes helps. I hope things will go smoothly for the remaining weeks. The bonsaï started blooming on Oct. 10 so I’ll switch to a different nutrient mix for her. I also started a real cannabonsaï (Purple Bud) this week, after I bought some Purple Bud, White Widow and Super Skunk seeds from the White Label bank during a recent fire sale at SensiSeeds.

I’m out of Bio-Heaven and I wonder whether it’s worth getting some more, given that I’ll probably flush the plants within a few weeks and only use water then. Plus it’s quite expensive compared to BioGrow, BioBloom or TopMax… Any ideas or maybe an organic substitute? Thanks!

If there is any advice I can give you, it is that "all are necessary, but none is indispensable" ... as much as it is good for the plant, it can grow just fine without it (I only used it once without any particular difference) especially if it already had it during growth :) you can continue to fertilize using all the other biobizz products without any problems :) then very often I mixed fertilizers from different companies, the only thing that matters is the amount of macro/micro nutrients and other substances they contain, finding a substitute if you really care is not difficult, you can even try homemade solutions! On YouTube I loved the videos on how to make compost tea for example :)

I decided to buy a more powerful dehumidifier, since the small one could not cope and humidity permanently lied around 74% with the bad weather :/ Unfortunately, one head seem to have signs of rot and I cut the upper half. Will monitor this one in the next days. 18/10: well maybe it was not rot, although some sugar leaves on that head seemed to turn very very dark. Anyway, I think it was time to flush those girls and I’ll stop nutrients until harvest. 21/10: humidity is now under control, and all girls are looking great :)

The autumn colours are so nice, with red-brown leaves. The smell is getting quite powerful too. I keep a close watch on the trichomes, only few of them have turned amber but I guess that’ll evolve quickly in the coming days. Will probably chop’em off within a week and a half.

Do I still have to wait for like 30% of the trichomes to turn amber? Because in all diaries that I read, the leaves on chopped-off plants are far from being all red and yellow like mine, and although most of my trichomes are milky, only few of them have turned amber. Thanks!

It really depends on what kind of high you are looking for. Transparent/milky indicates more of a head/cerebral high. And milky/amber indicates a couch lock/sedative high. You should be looking at the flower and not the leaves. Use your microscope/loop on the flower/bud to determine what stage your trichs are at. Personally I prefer 50/50 milky/amber. Keep a very close eye on the flower as they can turn amber very rapidly over night. Happy Growing! ~F

I loved every second of the grow and learned so many things. It was very pleasant and mind-soothing to tend to them, train them, defoliate, bend the apices and pray that they survive (and boy did it help in growing big buds). I wish I had not let them stretch this much during early flowering, should have used LST and HST earlier, but that’s a beginner’s mistake I guess.
