I decided to sow the seeds directly into the medium. Placed the seeds horizontal. All popped through the soil on day 4 from sowing. I noticed some stretching, lowered my light to 10 inches and rotated the plants so they can grow more uniformly straight up.
A lot of growth this week! Started doing LST 3-4 days ago and it's off to the races. Watering every other day or so. Smell is developing. 21 days from seed. I do have some leaf rust or cal mag deficiency I must address soon on my Green Crack.
More growth! All are starting the flowering process. Put an oscillating fan outside and opened the vents on the tent for lower humidity. Light LST as the stalks and stems are becoming more rigid, not wanting to snap one. Slight defoliation, removed all the rusted leaves and dead ones. Also did some strategic leaf removal and leaf tucking for more light penetration, that's most notable on the Green Crack. The spots on the fabric pots are just salt and mineral deposits. Lowered light to 12 inches. All in all things are looking pretty good so far. I see some burnt tips on my lemon auto and will address that soon. I have to do some more research, but overall it's not looking bad at all.
A double in height! It really grew this week. Definitely crowded. Stopped LSTing so much as I am running out of space, just doing maintenance now. Defoliated lightly/lollipopped a bit for airflow. There is some nutrient burn so I backed off the nutes a bit. The light spots on the pots are mineral deposits. Excited to see what next week brings! I hope they stop stretching so much, though.
Lot's more growth! It appears the stretch has mostly stopped. I put my zkittles on a platform to get it more in line with the canopy. The green crack/alaskan diesel really stretched. I have been pruning dying leaves and removed all of the LST. Letting the plants do their thing now that height has been controlled. It's looking like the zkittles will be my first strain available for harvest. Got my humidity down to around 40% after it drys out from watering. Still have a fan blowing air into the tent, and have been rotating the plants too for more even light/ to limit the risk of bud rot. Probably too many plants in my small space. Also noticed the light has always been at 24/0 as I never switched the timer on. Oh well!
Wow!!! The green crack won't stop stretching. Everything else has stopped but the green crack is up to 26 inches now. It's slowing down but it's making me utilize my space wisely and get creative. May have to get some boxes or milk crates/books to put the other plants on to even the canopy. Buds are getting thicker slowly. I am going to upgrade lights next grow I believe. I'm still a beginner at this but 100w seems a bit weak for 4 plants. Things are looking nice though. Nothing really new, just holding all my variables and waiting patiently for harvest. Trying not to mess this up too badly. It's cooling off here in Southern Arizona so I've been sleeping with my windows open. The temperature is relatively constant in the tent. Still looking like the Zkittles will finish first. It's starting to smell noticeably when I open the tent. Have to air out the room a bit, lol.
Looking very nice filling the whole tent.
Have you done 4 in that tent before?
I have same tent size, growing three and the fourth spot is taken by the fan.
@6ix6ix6ix, first time doing 4 in this tent. I've ran 2 successfully with peppers, lettuce, spinach in the tent as well. I have a cheap clip on usb fan to move air in addition to the exhaust fan. I've noticed my humidity is high (probably from the crowding) and am thinking about getting a dehumidifier. May also do some defoliation for more air flow.
