To top or not to top

Hey everyone, Hope all is well👊👊.. This was an experiment all the way, To top or not to top an AUTO, now that's the question. Both plants were grown exactly the same except for topping and training, the soil was the same, happy frog and pro-mix h.p, the food was the same, Big cannahuna nutes mixed at approx. 2/3 the recommended amount. They were grown in 3 gal. fabric pots with feeding one day, just water the next two times and letting them dry out completely before every watering. The topped and trained plant grew well over three feet tall with lots of med. to med. lrg sized nuggets and the plant I left alone with minor defoe grew to about twenty inches or so with a huge main cola and about a dozen lrg. buds. Both plants were very ssssticky with a kind of fruity smell with some earthy tones in the back. Very happy with the way this experiment turned out, with the topped plant I harvested my biggest dry weight ever for an auto. 165 grams, 5.89 oz. after a week in the dry tent😍😍.The other plant is still in the dry tent and will probably need 3-4 more days to properly dry out, my guess for dry weight for this plant is approx. 2-2.5oz.. I've topped alot of auto's but this is the first time for the same strain side by side experiment TO TOP OR NOT TO TOP. My take away from this is if you want the big main cola don't TOP, maybe just train a little and get a few big buds. If you want a very large plant with lots of med. sized nuggets and have the room to grow it TOPPING and TRAINING are the way to go in my opinion. I'll stop back and post a dry weight for the other plant as soon as it's ready... Sept. 20th- 77 grams (2.75oz) is the dry weight for plant #2 at 58% RH after 8 days in the dry tent. I'm pretty happy with the results, I know it's a one time experiment, but from my experience so far, topping and training are the way to go with auto's. Almost all of the time my weights were larger when the plant was topped and it gives you something to do, seems to make the time go by faster!!!
