I'm starting a couple of CBD plants off and hoping for some good strong CBD weed to blend with high THC weed for a mellow Vape that sorts my nerve pain.
I will be soaking the seeds in water for 24 hours then probably planing straight into their final pots. I've given my tent a full wipe down with some sanitiser so I'm ready to go once something sprouts, I'll be trying 8L and 12L pots so I can see if the extra room benefits the growth.
Update: about 18 hours of soaking and all seeds show signs of sprouting so I have potted up into small pots.
All seedlings now out of the soil and no helmet heads.
Gladly all seeds sprouted well and I'll give them a short time in the small pots before transplanting to their full size pots. The weather is changing now so its cooler and humidity is dropping so it should be easier to control temperature and moisture as we go through autumn and into winter.
I've had the seedlings raised up in the tent on a Table but I think this may have caused some heat stress judging by the frilly leaves so the last couple of days I've been giving the tent a bit more ventilation and today I have removed the table so they pots are all on the floor 1m away from the light.
Hoping the most frilly Pink Kush doesn't take a turn for the worse, I could really use all the CBD I can get so hopefully the change in distance to light will be better.
Now the weather has come cooler in the UK it might be harder for me to keep a good night time temperature.
Re-potted these from their little starter pots, using 2 sizes of cloth pots, 8L and 12L to see if there is any difference in growth. Probably a moot point as that little Pink Kush runt looks a bit dodgy with its frilly leaves. They all started out a bit frilly which I think might be my night time temperature, I'll see how they do now they are all re-potted and maybe offset the light cycle to be on during the coldest part of the night rather than sticking with the 18/6 during normal day and night hours.
The Sweetseeds Red Pure Auto is going well, I've started the first bit of LST on it, pre-flowers already showing so I don't expect these to be big plants.
The Seedsman Pink Kush CBD plants are a bit behind, the best plant is getting some yellowing lower leaves and the stunted runty plant is still showing frilly leaves and hasn't grown as well, some pre-flowers also showing.
I was hoping for bumper crops from these plants so I have a full on CBD stash to blend with the Afghani #1 that made a big crop but isn't as good for my nerve pain without the CBD element. Its early days I guess but I need to see some stretch and filling out if I'm to get anywhere near the cropping I want.
Just water on these girls so far, there should be enough nutrients from the worm castings to be going on with. *Edit - Actually I've given them all a dose of Canna Rhizotonic and a little A+B on the two Pink Kush to see if it will give them a little push in the right direction*

Flower sites on all plants are growing and multiplying, LST to all plants, full Canna nutes feed for all these this week at 2L per plant per week at the moment.
Pink Kush plants are definitely smaller.
Red Pure plants are growing well, the bigger pot seems to be the bigger plant which was what I'd hoped for.
Lighting from the Phlizon LED Light is mostly on the Max setting with the COB LEDs on and the plants seem to be loving the intensity.

Seedsman Pink Kush CBD with frilly leaves, both seedlings started off with Frilly edged leaves but one of them has continued to push out frilly leaves, thoughts????
All plants in same soil mix, pretty good temp and humidity control at present,one of those Phenotype things?
Red Pure CBD - Growing pretty well, I'm thinking I have some deficiencies in these now that that have properly started pushing flowers out fast, I've dosed with PK13/14 and CalMag. We are getting some colour showing too.
Pink Kush CBD - Even the runt plant is growing though not as well as its neighbour or the Red Pure plants, lots of colours are coming out on the runt, colours on the better plant too but not quite as prominent.
Fingers crossed the PK and CalMag will sort the Red Pure leaves.
Pretty much the same state as last week, plants growing well, still have the runty Pink Kush plant but its pushing flowers out well and getting some good colour to it. Red Pure plants are growing great though one of them has some leaf spotting but its not seeming to hinder growth.
Nutes same as last week, only watering when I get a full finger-depth of dry Coir and checking with soil probe for pH and Moisture too, getting a regular pH7 in the soil, I've got some pH Down to add a drop into my tap water just to ensure I'm watering with the right pH.
Any hints on what this might be? Check the full diary for nutes and stuff, maybe time to stop the PK13/14 and CalMag now they have pushed a load of flowers out?
Looks like an issues in the root zone to me, prob from a overwatering or rot issue. Also could be from a PH issue to salt buildup.
Given that your feeding liquid nutrients and are not monitoring the EC/PH of the runoff this is most likely the cause.
I would invest in a PPM/EC pen and water till you have min 30% runoff to avoid buildup in the soil. the runoff can be disposed of or tossed outside into your normal garden or lawn if diluted down, make it real week so its like a super light feeding for the outdoor plants. Monitoring the EC of the feeding solution and runoff will help problem solve any other issues down the road. its easy to mix the fertilizer to its recommendations then just dilute till you hit your target EC for the size of the plant.

Dealing with a few issues this week @m0use has been pointing me in the right direction.
Pink Kush (2 plants), I have that weird runty plant thats actually doing OK, the other Pink Kush is having some PK and pH issues which I'm starting to address.
Red Pure is showing what looks like a Nitrogen deficiency with slowly yellowing leaves.
Overall though buds are slowly fattening up, flowers look good and everything getting a nice sprinkling of sugar ;-)
A few close up shots to try see if the trichomes are changing, we have a few pistils turning brown now too.
I've been trying to sort a few leaf issues but I think I might be too late as these plants are nearing their predicted harvest times. Buds are fattening up nicely.
Just a hint of defoliation today pulling the worst looking leaves.
Pink Kush - I reckon this is close enough to harvest really, I've tried taking plenty of closeup photos today so I can try and check trichome progress.
Red Pure - Maybe a bit behind the Pink Kush.
I'll stick to pH corrected water only from now on, all plants get about 5L about once a week until I get a good run-off from each pot.
Smelling good too, I'm probably going to save my trim from these plants and make an extract from that as there is quite a bit of resin on the sugar leaves and leaves close to buds. Buds are pretty fat and solid so i could do with lowering the humidity a bit really.

Massive harvest from the 2 Red Pure CBD plants, the main colas are super chunky and firm.

Got a good amount from these 2 plants, smells great, I'd probably not grow again if I'm completely honest. Though I do have a seed left so I will grow it at some point.

I've been experimenting with this now, Taking a few hits of the CBD weed some hours before any THC weed make the THC high extended and increased.
When using a 50:50 blend of CBD:THC weed the CBD greatly lowers and shortens the high, I'm not saying this is a bad thing.
Thoughts?

However I did just google this and found this one article about it suggesting otherwise. It is a paid article and google gave me a glimpse into the context. it said smaller doses of CBD like 5mg and under before smoking THC increased its effects. but higher does of CBD like 400mg decreased THC effects. I keep trying to get the snip it but I can not anymore.

I grow a lot of CBD:THC ratios weeds normally 1:1 or 2:1 and I think I even have seeds for a 3:1 ratio.
The 1:1's and 2:1 get me just as high as low cbd weeds do, but I am a light weight and occasional user not everyday.
When I give these strains out to regular users they say its nice just not as strong as they are used to.
You could test this out by ingesting a lot of CBD weed one morning and a regular amount of THC weed shortly after and see if it has the same affects as before.
As a higher doses of CBD will theoretically lower the effects of the THC. and maybe your CBD weed your smoking is just not that strong either.
