mutantfarmer 30/09/2022 Preparing the necessary equipment and tools, getting the seeds, let's get started. Soaking for a day. Tap water, settled, 120 ppm + Simplex Mass at 1 drop per 300ml. 01/10/2022 🌰 The seeds have been resting in the solution for almost a day, now they're going into improvised containers for germination. Some strains with 1-2 seeds have already started to show "tails." All varieties follow the same super simple scheme: 1. Soak paper towels in the solution from the seeds and wring them out. 2. Place the seeds between two paper towels. 3. Cover with lids (unused trays for small pots) and put in a warm place. 4. Done, you’re amazing, now we wait for the roots. 02/10/2022 After another day, I planted all the material in small pots of 0.29L - substrate coco+perlite. 07/10/2022 Germination 11 out of 14. For now, just a general photo, as there’s not much to examine yet.

mutantfarmer 12/14. All the plants are showing Duckfoot leaf mutation, with some having slight differences. W#2 is showing leaf variegation. I will conduct the phenotype descriptions after determining the sex. During the week, the plants received watering with a solution of 450-530ppm 5.8pH. I started measuring the output on the last watering on 14.10, and it showed 600-850ppm, 5.5-5.7pH across different plants. I thoroughly watered all with a solution of 450ppm, 5.8pH. A few plants showed slight signs of overwatering, but otherwise, they remained resilient. W#3 took a long time to sprout and turned out to be a weak plant, so it was discarded. #13 and #14 did not sprout.

mutantfarmer The plants have different growth rates and activity levels; some drink faster, while others drink slower. A few plants showed deficiencies in calcium and magnesium. The aphid attack I mentioned earlier started with the plants of this strain, and most of the plants had colonies of pests on them. Upon discovering the problem, all the WW were moved from the shared box to a separate room away from the greenhouse. Some plants started drooping their leaves and showing signs of deficiencies due to the attack. After treatments, they feel okay. Throughout the week, the plants received watering with a solution of 450-530ppm at 5.8pH. At the end of the week, I started adding CalMag to the solution. The yield was not measured.

mutantfarmer Almost all the plants of the strain have issues visible in the condition of the leaves, some barely noticeable, others quite pronounced. I think the plants were easily damaged by the lowered pH, due to the stress caused by the aphid attack, as the plants of this strain were the first to catch the infection and suffered the most damage. As a result of discovering the pH meter issue (see my report on Drunken Bastard x Freakshow), and new measurements of the readings on the plants, it turned out that most of the plants of the strain have a pH around 4.9-5.4. After identifying the problem, I’m giving the plants a larger volume of solution, hoping for a quick correction of the readings. I also raised the nutrient levels from 500-550 to 580-630, with yields from different plants ranging from 530-700. The W#2 variegated plant received an overwatering while I was dealing with the issues. Not critical.

mutantfarmer Vegetation, Week 4. The widow ducks are actively growing without showing any ailments. The sexual characteristics are just starting to form and are practically invisible. No operational actions were taken besides inspection and measurements. I forgot to take a photo of the variegated W#2. It's alive, but growing with difficulties. Throughout the week, we received a solution of G.H.Feeding Grow + pH Down, with readings of 5.9-6.2pH and 650-710ppm.

mutantfarmer The ducks-widows are growing actively without showing any ailments. I removed the tops from all the plants. The sexual characteristics have shown up in about half of the plants so far. I freed W#2, which was practically stuck in place without any development, from the confines of the old coconut where it couldn't develop roots and relocated it to a new, more airy mix, where I think the plant will be more comfortable. Over the week, we were giving a solution of G.H.Feeding Grow + pH Down, with readings of 5.8-6.2pH and 670-730ppm, twice a day (some I water every couple of days).

mutantfarmer This week I conducted a major selection, sampling based on phenotypes. I filtered out the plants that don't have the characteristics I need or have unwanted ones. I kept those that show the least cannabis-like leaf shape. For W#7, I paired it with sample #5 from the Lemon Alien family. So far, they match well in terms of structure and leaves. Throughout the week, we were giving a solution of G.H.Feeding Grow + pH Down, with readings of 5.8-6.2pH and 700-780ppm, twice a day.

mutantfarmer This week I found time to describe the phenotypes based on a small set of traits, took clones from each plant, and did some serious pruning: I didn't describe or take a photo of the variegated W#2, but everything is fine with it too. W#4 (presumably female) Long distance between nodes, bushy, does not show purple tones, df leaves with 1-5 fingers, with significant distortions, W#6 ? Long distance between nodes, bushy, does not show purple tones, df leaves with 3-5 fingers with distortions. W#7? Short distance between nodes, weakly branching, stem shows purple tones, leaf petioles are a rich purple color, df leaves with 3-6 fingers. Dominated by 4+. W#1 ? Medium distance between nodes, bushy plant, stem shows a purple hue, leaf petioles are a rich purple color, df leaves with 3-7 fingers. W#9 ? Long distance between nodes, medium branching, stem and petioles show a rich purple color, leaves with 3-6 fingers, with distortions. W#4 female Long distance between nodes, bushy, stem shows a slight purple hue, df leaves with 3-6 fingers, with distortions. W#10 Long distance between nodes, bushy, stem and petioles show a slight purple hue, df leaves with 3-6 fingers with distortions. W#8 ? Long distance between nodes, weakly branching, stem and petioles show purple color, df leaves with 3-5 fingers. Throughout the week, we were using a solution of G.H.Feeding Grow + pH Down, with readings of 5.8-6.2pH and 700-780ppm, twice a day.

mutantfarmer Totally without description and photo, I didn't work on them this week due to the "reboot" of my greenhouse. I lowered the nutrient concentrations and for a week they received a solution of G.H.Feeding Grow + pH Down, with readings of 5.8-6.2pH and 650ppm, every 2-3 days.

mutantfarmer I selected 3 plants that interest me and switched them to 12/12 to determine their sex for sure. I'm checking W#10 for M or F (hoping for F), theoretically, based on its structure, it looks like a good fit for a male plant VT#8. I'm checking the sex of W#1 and W#7 to choose a pollinator for LA#4. G.H. Feeding Hybrids + pH Down, with readings of 6.0-6.3pH and 880-950ppm, once a day.

mutantfarmer W#10 is a female plant, it will go under VT#8. W#1 turned out to be a girl, I think I’ll pollinate LA#12 (boy with single-finger leaves). W#7 hasn't shown its sex yet, I'm still hoping it will be a pollinator for LA#4 (girl with single-finger leaves). For the week, daily waterings with G.H.Feeding Hybrids, 6.2-6.3 pH, 930-960 ppm. + Did a foliar treatment with Simplex Mass.

I added CalMag on time. I suspect you're using reverse osmosis.

@ArthurStotch, no, just regular tap water, at 180 ppm, and I've already removed CalMag, I took a bit too long to respond))

Insane genetics.. I've been watching Kalyseed for a few years now, I think I'll test something soon!! Great work 😉 keep it up!
