So, we have been growing for a long time. Now the land of smiles has allowed for legal cultivation, we have decided to use this for educating and experimenting. This is one of our new grow spaces, we have our own unique issues here in the South of Thailand, namely humidity, rain, and heat. Nutrients are also hard to get hold of, but we have always made our own custom mix. We have 2 shelves or units here. 1 unit is experimental genetics that we have been asked to trial in Thailand. The other is all OG Kush. The back row are approximately 1 week older the the front row. The back row will will SCROG, the front row SOG. We will be using SPIDER FARMER SE7000, CO2 from co2 bags, we have AC keeping the temp around 28 degrees, humidity currently 75. This is first day of transplanting the DOG into the grow room. Any questions, any thoughts and any advice is more than welcome.

So, not without issues. Heavy rain haas caused excess humidity, AC is working overdrive to keep the room dry dropping the temp to uncomfortable levels 22-24. We have Dehumidifiers being installed soon so will get that under control Tap water here is very minerally and also very alkaline. 8.7. PH pens been erroneous so have some mild nutrient lockout, we caught it early but has effected growth for sure. We expect teething problems especially in a new large room in a new climate. You learn the most from mistakes. :) Just for a heads up, how did we identify PH issues? Nutrient deficiency showed firstly on the lower leaves, but then on the new leaves. We dropping of the leaves also. Usually, if you have a balanced nutrient program you will not get a nutrient deficiency. 9/10 it is a PH issue, or potentially pest. Test soil PH, i take a scoop, wash in PH neutral water, drain out and test the remaining solution. Then wash through with PH neutral water, dim the lights for a few days if you have that function. Have faith and the plants will come back to normal. Lets Gromore. :)

So, the nutrient lock is fixed, the humidity is under control, and these ladies are looking super vigorous. We will flip very soon as the stretch will fill out any holes in the SCROG net. We will also clear the bottom of these plants in the next day or 2, taking lots of clones and making sure we have that SOG. We have introduced some workers, 10 praying mantis to keep an eye on any pests.. the video of the mantis is from another grow, not the OG kush Light is about 70% ATM and i will turn up to 80% today, Spiderfarmer have kindly sponsored us with a Light controller, that arrives imminently and as soon as it does, it's week 1 of flowering and the light will go to 80% - then 90, then 100.... We have had serious rain here, the relative humidity outside is 90% and the temp is 31 degrees. We continue to feed with our own nutrient schedule. Slightly increasing the nitrogen for the last week or som of pure Veg. Thoughts? Lets Gromore,

This week we flip, actually, these pics are 2 days into the flip. All going good, its gonna be packed, have to get in the SOG and clear the bottom this week also, added a net to the SOG side to keep the canopy a bit more level. I hear, thats not a real SOG then, the point is, these plants are younger and even with a SOG keeping that canopy level is key. Humidity is always a chore, its something i'm worried about for the flowers so will install an even larger Dehumidifier over the next week or so. Using the spider farmer light control is nice and simple, my auto irrigation is working fine... Onwards and upwards.

So, into day 9 of 12/12 and the girls have responded quickly. Bud sites appearing everywhere. Top dressed with some more nutrients, have had daily manicuring, i prefer little and often rather than 1 massive blast. I have turned the lights up to 85%, and will work it to 100 over the next week or so.

A bit late to post this, been busy. They have started to flower vigorously and stretch a lot. The 2 different methods are showing different results. The plants nearest the AC aren't doing as well, possibly because of the AC But also the different growing method. The fungus gnats are becoming a nuisance as are the white fly i now have which is apparently quite common in THAILAND. The are a pest and i am trying to control naturally with yellow paper and a mild soapy solution. All in all i am happy with the grow so far, i have watered with a guano and Azomite mix and look forward to the coming weeks. I have included a picture of one of my phenos on the other tray, a beautiful Zapplz starting to show it's colour. Biggest challenges are Humidity being in the tropics in the wet season, and the pest starting to appear.

This week they are thickening. Had issues with whitefly and fungus gnats on both sides, but the SOG is looking much healthier. The smell is good, the buds are super resinous, when clearing away dead leaves or large leaves blocking bud sites my arms come away sticky. All in all they are looking acceptable. Need to get on to my pest management but there are very few organic solutions available in thailand. I am starting a 24 light super room soon, so will add a couple of pics as that progresses

They are continuing to stack on density and resin. The smell has increased and the buds are leaning. Some will ne3d supporting soon for sure. Another few weeks on these. Top dressed them with our gromore dry mix mid week. Gave them a mild feeding via a spray too, I do this at least twice a week until the last couple of weeks. Still have issues with fungus gnats and white fly. Bio control is gonna be a key part here in Thailand. Things just grow quick. Thoughts?

Hmmmmm Some good, some bad. The front tray is so weak compared to the back tray. 2 possible reasons, 1 the irrigation drippers are poor, and they don't always feed the back plants. Also, those plants have the ac directly over them. This is a test frow for our larger grow setup which is over 100m2 so it's really useful to learn what's working and what's not. We have whitefly and fungus gnats, the latter if which are now under co trol but the whitefly continue to rampage through the garden. Being in the last couple weeks of flowering I don't want to spray with anything. It's definitely effecting the yeild and the plants health now. We regularly go through and hover up the pests using a homemade whitefly attachment... This shows the importance of bio security especially here in the tropics. The climate is still too humid, regularly at 70%. This is proving so hard to control. I am adding another extractor fan today but have been super busy with the new build. Onwards and upwards. Mixed feelings towards this grow looking forward to it being over so I can start the next. Testing genetics and methods here in the tropics is all a learning curve.

Sooooo They've got to come down. still some life left in them TBH but there is a sign of bud rot and so there is only 1 thing to do. Before hand, i defoliated a lot to allow for better airflow, and get some more light on the lower parts of the flower. TBH the light penetration from the SE7000 is pretty amazing, (best lights we've used to date for sure.) All the buds are dense, compact and seriously resinous. Whitefly are a pain in the arse, brought in 2000+ ladybugs to guard the other side, cant be spraying anything on my beautiful flowers at this stage (Some pics of the lady bugs on the other flowers are included here... Not OG kush). we have make and sell our own nutrients, have done for a while and they are superb, even if i do say so myself. Really done a great job on these girls. We took some down a week or so ago as i spied some suspicious browning and it dried out very nice, so not too unhappy. There is a lot of bud here, taking it down took a good but of time, expecting well over 1kg from the OG kush. Dried pre cured bud picks coming. Hope you enjoyed. :)
