2nd Grow ever!

GSdubs Hi Growmies! Happy to be part of this community. So this week I realized I had two issues with my girl. First I noticed the leaves were curling in, which is what my photos are highlighting. So I did a little googling and realized it's most likely due to Nitrogen toxicity. But I also realized as I inspected closer, that the little specks on the leaves were critters! I never had bugs on my first grow so it didnt occur to me at first. It ended up being thrips, the little bastards. Got some neem oil and some organishield and am hoping that takes care of it. I was about to flip to flower but I decided to get these issues sorted out before I make the switch over so I dont risk damaging the buds.

GSdubs Decided to just switch to flower! Patience is the most difficult part of growing weed, and this was no different. Partly because the plant was starting to get really bushy and I find when the plant is that size it starts to get hard for me to get the nutrient levels exactly how it wants it. So I figured I'd switch to flower, get moving on the buds even though there are still traces of Thrips in the leaves. I been using neem oil every 3 days and Organishield every 7 days. Curious if anyone else has experience with organishield, especially now that I'm in flower and will likely be using neem oil less and less. Happy growing!

GSdubs Week 2 of flower going pretty good! Starting to see little spikey girls popping up so we're on the right track. I seem to have got the thrips fully under control now. I only saw 1 all week. I'm not going to use neem oil anymore just the organishield. I looked up organishield's ingredients on the FDA and USDA website and the active ingredients are totally food safe and over 120% more effective on thrips than neem oil. So I feel better about spraying directly on the buds, although I'm still going to avoid it as much as possible. Just one spray down every 10 days or so and then I'll stop spraying completely about 3-4 weeks before harvest and hope the thrips just dont come back. Light intensity is up to about 85%, waiting to go that last 15% for a little later into flower. Trying to get it to stretch all the way first.

GSdubs It seems like I'm still getting a little bit of nutrient burning on some of the leaves but also maybe a little lockout of cal-mag. Not sure if thats because I halted everything when I had nitrogen toxicity or what but I decided to give it nothing but a spot of bloom enhancer for the last watering. I'll probably do similar for next watering, maybe nothing but RO/6.7PH water and a little calmag so hopefully it takes it up at the slightly higher PH. We'll see! Everything else seems to be going well, completely got rid of the Thrips finally.

GSdubs Starting to see some trich's on some of the colas! The girl is getting stronger. Still not entirely sure why the yellowing... Alright I have to confess that I forgot to water her for like 2 days longer than I should've. I opened the tent to take a peek and it was SO wilted and a lot of the leaves were dying... oops. So I watered it with pure water - no nutes. then 3 days later I gave it some pure blend pro bloom soil. It looks like I'm still getting. more nutrient burn on the leaves and I'm not exactly sure whats causing it. Going to just give nutes for every other watering and hope it works itself out. As long as the colas are getting fatter and the new growth looks good I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing.

GSdubs Starting to wonder if I'm getting some nutrient lockout because I'm seeing yellowing that looks a lot like a flush fade but the runoff is around 1600PPM. Not sure what the issue is but at this point its a little late to make major corrections. Going to give nutrients for about 3 more weeks and then start to flush for the end.

GSdubs Missed a week because I was a little bummed out about the quality of the nugs. Can't for the life of me figure out the yellowing, so just riding it out now. a friend suggested they're hungry but the PPM of the runoff is over 1300 when I'm watering at about 800 ppm. so I don't think that's it, it looks like some sort of lockout but I don't want to start flushing this late in the game. So I think I'm resigned to just try to force feed nutrients for about one more week and then hope it turns out okay during the flush at the end.

GSdubs Hardcore yellowing and clawing and I really can't figure out the issue. I'm throwing in the towel in terms of corrections because it feels like its too late to do any changes to the soil or nutrients since I'm getting pretty close to harvest time. I'm thinking probably about 3 weeks until harvest, maybe less. going to just be watering with a tiny amount of nutrients and cal-mag from here on out. Excited to smoke it!

GSdubs Well its time folks! This will be my final update of flowering, it's time to chop it down. I'm really unhappy about the amount of yellowing I had throughout, I still don't even know what went wrong which is also frustrating because I would like to correct it for next time. I suspect my soil had locked out nutrients and the plant just starved, but I wont know for sure until I try again. At least it made some big ol nugs! They're sooo sticky too
