Germinated Moby Dick, Jack Herer and Critical Kush seeds in glasses of water (on a seedling heat mat, it's very cold in here). Temp of water was 23C. All of the seeds had tiny sprouts in 2 days.
After sprouting I moved the seedlings to 10cm plastic pots. Substrate is a coco coir based mix with perlite, clay pebbles, worm humus etc. Growing these in a tiny greenhouse for now with 23C air temp inside.
10w is not a lot and will not do well in the long run. if its just for the first little leaves till you switch to a bigger light then its ok.
ideal is 100w led high efficiency lighitng per plant. CFL and HID lighting have different values of watts per plant.
Good Luck!
Seeding do not need light in germination till the leaves are open to get light. Warmth, and moist is about all they need to germinate. Well, Plus dark. I run my light for warmth. Plus I dome seed if in substrate till sprout.
Due to very low temperatures in my actual grow room, these are on the counter with a simple 10W E27 light and a heat mat. Seedlings stretched a bit too much due to me being out of town not fixing lights for them. Moving them to the grow tent asap tho!!
Moisture has been around 45%, trying to fix that with a tray of water on top of the heat mat, wishing it'll evaporate.
Selected two of the best looking seedling to grow further, these are Critical Kush and Jack Herer. Plants are still very tiny, I've been having problems with very low humidity (30%) and cold (max 19C in the tent). Conditions are very arctic, so this ain't easy...I'm growing in a basement that has pretty much fridge temps. Trying to get humidity and temperature higher with a clay pebble tray and a heat mat under the pots.
Nutes: half strength biobizz week 1 nutrients. EC a bit high, still learning to get PH right...
Also been thinking about the crappy light I have. It has only around 60 actual watts and ofc the purple color is not optimal. What do you think? This the one I have: https://www.lumeri.eu/collections/panels/products/lumeri-lq300
Day 1 of week 3:
Changed the 60w purple LED to a 40W 4000K LED. Less wattage but the quality of this light is way better. Plants looking good, even though it's cold and dry in the tent. I think these conditions might slow the growth down tho. Using half strength veg nutes (Biobizz week 2).
Day 4 of week 3:
Temps went way too low (8 celsius) during the night. Plants were very purple and dull in the morning. Added a radiator next to my tent later the same day. Full strength nutes.
Day 7 of week 3:
Plants are looking very good and seems like the cold night few days ago didn't stunt the growth. Full strength nutes.
During this week I noticed crispy leaves (humidity too low) and yellow spots (magnesium deficiency). Magnesium is ok after higher doses of calmag.
Started seeing roots from the bottom holes of the pots so will repot soon as well! I managed to get temps up in the grow room and my obviously grow faster now.
Started having real problems with leaves mostly on Jack Herer. Oldest fan leaves browning, top leaves light stessed (plants were less than one inch from lights).
Critical kush seems to be doing better. Repotted both plants to 1gal fabric pots at the end of the week. Custom soil: clay pebbles, coco, charcoal, perlite and vermiculite. Added mycorrhiza, BioBizz Pre mix and worm castings.
60 Watt ist nicht viel, stimmt. Aber es geht. Nur unten solltest du dann lollipopping machen. Dafür reicht die Lichtleistung dann doch nicht. Viel Glück, bisher sieht es gut aus.
