A good week. Some rain here and there but sunny for the most part.
She's looking good and growing well. Might be ready to transplant to her final pot next week.
Gave her a little bit of veg nutes this week.
Away for 6 days over christmas, but she'll be outside. We'll get some rain so not too worried about her drying out.
Sprayed her with neem oil before I left as a powdery mildew preventative.
Was away for almost all of the week so this girl had to look after herself. Left her out in the open so she got some rain and sun and I came home to a healthy, slightly bigger plant.
She's ready for transplanting to her final pot and I'll do that this coming week.
Been a rainy week this week with more cloud than sun.
Transplanted this girl into her final pot at the start of the week and started with lst.
Probably only 1-2 weeks left till we're into flower. Worried she's a bit small for 4 weeks old so I may end up just abandoning the lst and letting her grow however she wants to grow.
It was a beautiful, hot and sunny week this week and she was loving it.
I nixed the lst and just letting her grow however she wants now. I transplanted and then started lst the next day when she was probably a bit too small, which seems to have slowed her growth. Lesson learnt. In future will only start any kind of training a minimum of 7 days after transplant.
Added some dry amendments to the soil (acid compost, bone meal, chicken manure).
The stretch is almost upon us :)
This girl had some good growth this week, but the side branches just haven't been growing out and she can go into flower at any time now. So I decided to take the gamble and top her to try and force some growth from those side shoots before the stretch.
I may have already stunted her a bit with the transplant and early lst, but she has been recovering. So best case scenario now is that she recovers and bushes nicely before flower sets in. Worst case scenario I've ruined this plant and I have first hand experience in some good lessons on what not to do and that I'll never do again.
Here's hoping for the best case scenario :)
Soooo this girl started showing pistils about 2 days after I topped :) Not exactly what I was hoping for but I'm super impressed with how well she's recovered, even with flowering starting so soon after the topping.
She's stretching and we've got some really good growth from the side branches this week as well.
The late topping might have been the best thing I could have done for this girl, but I'll hold off on patting myself on the back till later in flower.
We're in a heatwave at the moment and the days and nights are quite hot, but still very dry. This girl is handling it well.
She is still growing well and stretching. The bud sites are also starting to fill up nicely with pistils.
It was cooler this week with a lot of cloud and rain.
I decided to space some of the upper branches using toothpicks and it worked really well. A useful technique which seemed to cause very little stress.
I've done a lot of experimentation on this plant that probably isn't recommended, but she's taken it all on and is still healthy and strong. I'm really impressed with this plant.
In the spirit of continually doing the wrong things to this plant, I lollipopped her slightly before the recommended day 20-25 window. She didnt seem to be stretching anymore so I figured it would be safe.
Everything looks fine for now :)
The first half of the week was nice and sunny. The second half has been really wet and cloudy. I haven't seen direct sunlight in days. Been having to keep the girl under cover here and there as well because the rain was coming coming in quite hard somedays.
We've been getting heavy rain. State of disaster called in 7 of 9 provinces due to flooding. Fortunately not in my province but still a lot of rain.
With the lack of direct sun, not a lot happened this week. Hopefully weather will improve this coming week.
Some beautiful sunshine at long last :) this week has been warm, dry and sunny.
This girl is looking good, buds are growing nicely and we've got trichomes on the sugar leaves. Still no smell yet.
The buds are really starting to take shape nicely on this girl now and she's looking good and healthy.
Top dressed with a bit of bone meal, worm castings and acid compost just to make sure everything is still balanced in the soil.
Been a really good week weather wise, dry, hot and sunny so no problems on that front. Just got to let her keep doing what she's doing.
This girl is doing well and the buds and swelling nicely.
It's been a good week weather wise, hot and dry.
Still no smell from this girl yet, but she's getting nice and frosty.
Went away for two nights last weekend and came back to what was fortunately still a very healthy looking plant :)
I assumed this girl would only be ripe at the end of March so I never bothered to check trichomes, but seeing as how we were mid way through week 8 of flower I was figured I might as well take a look.
Well lo and behold the trichomes were fully milky with a bit of amber already :) I don't like my indicas too couch-locky so not gonna let her go much further.
Fortunately with going away the last time I fed her with nutes was a week ago, so just been dechlorinated water since.
Did the pre harvest defoliation yesterday, watered for the last time today and will be harvesting in 2 days time
I absolutely loved growing this plant. Damaged some roots when transplanting, topped very late into veg, had a month of heatwave, a month of cloud and rain, etc and she just kept going and looking good doing it.
Smell was also weak so a great strain of you need something discreet.
Budwashed and wet trimmed and cured 8 weeks.
Smokes smooth, tastes good and is really calming and good for body pains.
This strain was awesome to grow. Threw a lot at her and she handled it all well and finished beautifully.
If she smokes as well as she grew this will definitely be a favourite going forward.
I budwashed, wet trimmed and then dried these buds for 6 days. Ended up with a final weight of 38 grams of good quality bud which I'm happy with. I vape my weed through a dynavap, so a little goes a long way :)
Going to cure for a month before I give it a go and do the smoke report.
Also growing Somango XXL outdoor (3 plants) so keen to follow your progress. My two bigger XXL's are 8 weeks into veg & stretching big time. They love topping & some LST & will keep you busy defoliating in your grow. Current heights of my 2 biggies are around 20" but with topping & LST is not a true reflection on growth. Big & bushy with big fan leaves. Good luck mate 👍🏻
