Started out floating the seeds in a shot glass but when they sunk to the bottom after about 12 hours, I didn’t want to risk drowning. Transferred to a wet paper towel (tap water through a taste/odor filter). Tent setup: I set a shelf up about waist high. Added a heating mat. Too hot to place a wet napkin directly on top of. So I placed them next to and added a
small fan. The ambient temp of the mat combined with the convection of the fan kept the temp at a very consistent 77.5-78.5. Checked every 8 hrs or so to make sure the paper towel stayed moist…waited
36 more hours and Voila!! 100%
success. I’ll wait till tomorrow to put the
seeds to soil. I’m looking for the radicles
to be about 3x the size of the seed. In
the meantime I’ll get initial ph and ec/ ppm
readings for both the water and the
seedling soil runoff. I’m thinking 6.4 ph
and .6 ec should be a good target starting
point. From what I’ve read about
Mephisto seeds, they tend to be a tad bit
sensitive to nutes, so I’ll err on the side of
caution.
Planted seeds/radicles in a 4” seedlingpot. 75% FoxFarm Happy Frog /25% seed starter. Ran clean ph balanced
through till ec was 1.4. (A little higher
than I wanted but I’m gonna roll with it.
Ph was 6.4. Temp 79*f. Rh 50%. Now we
wait.
