12/18 Waiting for new humidifier to show up, to up the RH. Should arrive within 48 hours. Light is currently at 100% white spectrum 10% Red and 25% Blue
12/19 Edit: Humidifier has arrived. Adjusting room temp to match RH and meet expected VPD. See pics.
12/20 Edit: Still tinkering with humidity and temp. Currently at 70.9f 76%RH
12/21 Edit: VPD is relatively stable now. Humidifier ran out of water, so had a short spike.
12/22 Edit: I believe I have the climate figured out for the most part. VPD range was between 0.38-0.8kpa for major spikes and had an average of .59kpa Temps are much more stable and I've learned to adjust the humidity accordingly. Increased light timer by 12 minutes for total of 15:12 on 8:48 off.
12/24 The first set of fan leaves is fairly established and a second node is starting. I am beginning to raise VPD, previous target was .6kpa, new target is .7kpa
12/26: I noticed slight yellowing on the edges of the leaves. Raising VPD levels. Light is being raised to 24" & spectrum being increased to 100% White 100% Red 100% Blue
12/28: I have been busy from the holidays and have not been on top of the plant as much, VPD levels are all over the place but there seem to be no issues. Will hopefully be back on top of everything by next week, as I am adjusting everything manually. Starting tomorrow, the lights will be on for an additional 12 minutes, for a total of 15:24 on and 8:36 off. Plant has not been watered since it sprouted, high humidity levels have prevented the soil from drying out.
12/29: It appears that altering the spectrum as well as raising the light and VPD has had a positive effect. Plant seems happier and is more perky.
1/1/2023: Happy new year! Growth is looking good. Drooping in photos cause it is close to the off cycle. VPD was all over the place cause I have been gone. I should be back for the majority of the time moving forward since the holidays are over.
Notes: Plant has not been watered since germination. Total on time is 15 hours and 24 minutes. Mornings are dimmed to simulate the sun rising and overcast. Occasionally light is dimmed at night as well.
1/5: I had noticed the plant starting to droop last week. It started to droop more this week and I thought it was possible the plant needed more water. I watered it around 1/8 of a gallon on the 3rd and the plant did not respond well. It is apparent that the drooping has been caused from overwatering. Since I had not watered the plant since germination, this surprised me. Regardless, I drained the pot as best as possible and turned off the humidifier to help dry out the soil.
1/9: plant was definitely overwatered. I let it dry out until slightly wilted. I watered about 1/8 of a gallon on the perimeter of the pot. She is responding well. Aiming for around 60% humidity now
1/10: 7:30pm plant is recovering nicely, perked up and reaching for the light. A little yellow from overwatering, but I imagine things will be up from here. (Edit - 10:38pm The lights turned off a couple minutes ago and I was just hit with the smell of fresh plant for the first time. I believe this is a solid sign that the plant is recovering well)
1/11: 8:30pm Everything looks good. There is a little bit of yellowing on the first node, from the overwatering, as well as slightly burnt tips on the new growth. I watered the perimeter of the plant, with about 1/8 of a gallon of water and she stayed perked up. I believe the worst is over. I added another 12 minutes to on time. 15 hours and 48 minutes on --- 8 hours 12 minutes off
1/12: Definitely recovering; and well. Perked up, nicely. New leaves are a healthy shade of green.
1/14: Signs of overwatering are gone, aside from the yellow leaves and burnt tips. Watered about 1/4 gallon on the perimeter of the pot. Occasionally dim the lights, mist with water and max out the humidifier to simulate cloudy or rainy days.
1/15: I may have overwatered again!!! This is a sensitive strain! I lowered the light from 24 inches to 18 inches from canopy for ~650uMol PAR, planning on lowering it again in a few days. Plant is currently 4.5 inches tall. Added a CO2 meter and increased ambient CO2 from 450PPM to ~1100PPM
