excited to try out my new christmas presents. king tut has been on my to grow list for a while and now its finally happening.
pretty bright light but its missing the uv and cool white diodes that were advertised on the unit, so I'm a little bummed, but lets see how she grows.
day 2: 1 seed is cracked, one seed has taproot showing, I'm gonna say both were successful
day 3: both are ready for soil. so i planted them in ffof soil. hoping for the best!
day 5: carnivorous gardener approves of the lights
its a little hot in the grow tent so I'll need an inline fan before the end of this grow.
got an inline fan. it brings them temps down around 5 degrees c
day 35: Today I defoliated my cannabis plants and was delighted by their pungent, skunky aroma. It was truly a feast for the senses. However, as I closely examined the plants, I realized that they are going to be smaller than expected. Despite this setback, I will continue to provide the best care for my plants and ensure that they receive the proper nutrients, light, and attention needed for a successful grow.
Those leaves look almost black, my friend.. which is usually indicative of nitrogen toxicity but I can't figure out why because you're not even giving them anything except basic root enhancers and microbes... which is another puzzlement - why no basic NPK nutes?
If this is a watering issue, it could be either overwatering (the state of being constantly wet) or underwatering.... When you water, are you getting any runoff at all? If not, it's probably needing more water, not less.... Don't go by her sister - different plants will grow and need different things at different times even if they're the same strain from the same seed bank. When you water, make sure you get some runoff and then leave that runoff in the saucer/tray to see if the soil will soak it back up again... if it does, give it more water... keep giving it water until it no longer soaks up the runoff.
Now, if you DO normally get runoff, then it may be overwatered. Make sure the plant actually needs water before you give it ... lift the pot up, you'll be able to tell if there's any weight in the soil or not.... if there is, wait before giving it more to drink.
Good luck.... and get these ladies on some good NPK ... you're using Fox Farm so now that they're in flower, they're going to need some good Bloom nutes and Big Bloom as well as Tiger Bloom are going to be necessary - they'll need the extra PK they'll get from these.
day 42: Today I checked in on my cannabis plants and was pleased to see that the plant on the left is thriving. Its leaves are a healthy green color and it has continued to grow tall and strong. However, the plant on the right had a rough start. I realized that I had overwatered it and there was a nitrogen abundance in the soil. Upon further investigation, I found that the cause was the Fox Farms Ocean Forest potting soil that I used. However, I am happy to report that the plant on the right has bounced back and is growing again. I will be sure to monitor its progress and make adjustments to ensure that it continues to thrive.
