Week 1: Outstanding start from the White OGs from Sweet Seeds. Both seeds germinated in less than 48 hours and had healthy long tap roots by the 72 hour mark. Dropped them both into happy frog soil and they sprouted 2 days later. All in all, took 5 days to see the first leaves.

1st full week being out of the ground. Pretty easy week. Just been watering them with 5.9 ph’d county water filtered down to <60 ppm. Happy with both plants. One has began to take a slight lead in overall size. However, both seedlings are just about ready to hit some real growth!

This question is regarding the photo of the seedlings below. One of my seedlings is beginning to turn a bright green color in the center near the new growth. The other is staying a dark green and I am wondering what could cause this as they are both being cared for evenly.

Nothing to worry about, here. It's just two plants distinguishing themselves from one another. Cannabis plants have phenotypes. This means they each have slightly different genes, even though they have the same parents. A lot like humans. Take a brother and sister from the same parents and you'll see that they have different genetics, despite being from the same bloodline. Different eyes, hairline, height, build, etc. Well, cannabis plants are the same way. Phenotype hunting is actually the funnest part of growing for me. I like to pop a bunch of seeds, clone them, then put the clones into flower. If i like the genetics of one of the seeds enough, i'll keep it as a mother plant to do future runs with it. If i don't like it that much, i just stick the mother plant into flower and don't keep it around. There are little brown spots popping up on the new growth of one of the plants. I’m not too concerned, but what could this mean?

I was thinking the same as Lewd101, looks like water droplet has acted like a magnifying glass. Also your diary says your growing in soil and your watering PH 5.9 soil ph range is 6-6.8

Babies are still going strong. Have lowered the light down to 20” and increased light intensity to 80%! One of the little girls is seriously outgrowing her sister at this point. Hoping that it’s purely due to genetics because both plants are receiving equal care. I may try increasing the humidity of the tent this week to try and boost the little lady who has fallen behind. Otherwise, super happy with the progress so far!

Plants are still looking really good! Happy with where they are both at. Both have started to dedicate the majority of their energy to bulking up their stems and expanding their root systems. Made sure we switched the pH of their water to 6.2 as the previous 5.9 solution was a bit too acidic. (P.S. I have learned pH down can be really strong stuff) moved the light up to 30” as I was noticing some slight light burn on the edges of the leaves. Per comments below we will be starting nutrients next watering cycle! Edit: on the last day of this week we began giving them 2.0 mL of Connoisseur Part A and B from Advanced Nutrients. Excited to see the results! Almost time for their first Topping!

This week was a little bit tricky as light burn was definitely beginning to plague the grow. Sadly, the 200w Ionboard from AC Infinity is a lot stronger than expected. We learned that this light is just fine far away from the plants 40” or above, we had it at a smooth 24” at one point(fail). We have decided to top both plants to encourage a more lateral growth with more bud sights. We have continued the 2 mL/ L of Connoisseur Part A and B with their regularly watering every day or every other day depending on how the soil feels.

Not going to lie… this week has been pretty brutal. I noticed that both plants were beginning to experience some leaf burn. I believe this was due to the extremely low humidity caused by the winter months. I went ahead and dialed in the humidifier and the AC Infinity controller to keep the tent around 60% humidity. This seemed to help the plants a lot. We went ahead and topped both plants to promote a bushier growth. We also began tieing the main stem back to start some LST to allow for equal sunlight on the lower stems. We have remained at the 2 ml/L nutrient load as I am weary to increase the nutrients until I can confirm that I am not doing too much. One of the plants seems to be a bit too Green while the other is a bit too light. So I may test the runoff of both plants to see where there pH and PPMs are. All in all, we are moving forward, just worried that these may be small plants forever. Lol.

This week I noticed that the plants were beginning to show serious signs of nutrient abundance and a slight pH issue. So I decided to flush both plants with 4 gallons of pH’d water and tested the runoff from each. My suspicions were proven correct when my ppm was well over 1500 and pH had fallen to 5.5. Good news, after the flush, In less than 12 hours, both plants perked up and grew over an inch in multiple areas. I have also continued to train both plants, trying to ensure all bud sights are kept at a similar elevation. All in all, a promising week, hoping for strong growth over the next weeks before we throw her into flower!
