In pictures 7 and 8 you will see a picture of the stem. If you look closely you will see thar the stem is wider than a normal stem. Almost like 2 stems merged together. This is also causing the bud to look strange. Anyone seen this before?
i even had more crazy ones in my new crossings, but usually they develop nice buds :)
i dont know its genetic, or some enviromental effect, or some infection, but except the shape, they always looked healthy.
This is called fasciation and it is the result of an improper hormone balance in the apical meristem resulting in abnormal cell differentiation. It's cause is normally genetic predisposition or a biotic stress and its found all over the plant kingdom. Normally it has nothing to do with ploidy level
