Hello! Welcome to Week 0 of House of Bob 2023. Starting up 5 seeds, all different strains this year:
- Rubber Match by Secret Society Seed Co (regular seed)* x2
- Something Good by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized)
- Acapulco Gold by Barney's Farm (feminized)
- Purple Lemonade by FastBuds (Auto)
- Skywalker by NASC (feminized)
Germinating, Week 0. Wet Paper Towel. After sprout, transition to solo cup with soil. If they don't germinate, we have anther option if not more of the strains already listed:
- Glue Sniffer by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized)
- Blueberry Cupcake x MAC1 by Humbodlt (freebie from NASC)
Starting early this year because it gets really too hot in the Summer here in Charleston, SC. High heat and wet soil led to mold issues last year in 2022 - so, we are hoping for a better yield this year. We'll try to keep the vegetation phase comfortable by bringing plants inside if the temperatures drop too much, but we think that the worst of the harmful cold shocks are behind us for the remaining Winter season.
*Update 1/5. Looks like the first rubber match seed (actually failed to germinate at the same time as the others) finally did germinate. We went ahead and started a 2nd rubber match and now it has germinated as well. So, we have two rubber match seeds going now LOL. We guess that by end of week 2 (which is week 1, technically) that at least four of these plants will have broken through the soil in their cups.
@love_2_grow, thanks for the comment. This will be my third year of growing my own so hopefully I have learned a few lessons and don't repeat some previous mistakes.
Autos don’t have to be small, and your plants were stunted due to stress of some sort. Could be lots of things but my guess is cool overnight temperatures. For northern hemisphere outdoor autos, or at least here in Canada, don’t start autos until mid to late May. Your plants will be way bigger and still done by end of Summer. Good luck.
