Germination

Hello! Welcome to Week 0 of House of Bob 2023. Starting up 5 seeds, all different strains this year: - Rubber Match by Secret Society Seed Co (regular seed)* x2 - Something Good by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized) - Acapulco Gold by Barney's Farm (feminized) - Purple Lemonade by FastBuds (Auto) - Skywalker by NASC (feminized) Germinating, Week 0. Wet Paper Towel. After sprout, transition to solo cup with soil. If they don't germinate, we have anther option if not more of the strains already listed: - Glue Sniffer by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized) - Blueberry Cupcake x MAC1 by Humbodlt (freebie from NASC) Starting early this year because it gets really too hot in the Summer here in Charleston, SC. High heat and wet soil led to mold issues last year in 2022 - so, we are hoping for a better yield this year. We'll try to keep the vegetation phase comfortable by bringing plants inside if the temperatures drop too much, but we think that the worst of the harmful cold shocks are behind us for the remaining Winter season. *Update 1/5. Looks like the first rubber match seed (actually failed to germinate at the same time as the others) finally did germinate. We went ahead and started a 2nd rubber match and now it has germinated as well. So, we have two rubber match seeds going now LOL. We guess that by end of week 2 (which is week 1, technically) that at least four of these plants will have broken through the soil in their cups.

Here's some pictures of late week 1 into week 2. They are still all in their solo cups. In the future, we'll try to label them in the soil so the pictures will show which seed is which. For now, the names are written on the sides of each cup - just can't see that from the pics. TOTAL = 6 cups, all different seeds. Here's the list of seeds that have remained since we started: - Rubber Match by Secret Society Seed Co (regular seed)* x1 (down from 2) status: first seed just didn't pop and never started growing. 2nd seed is doing fine. :) - Something Good by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. - Acapulco Gold by Barney's Farm (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. - Purple Lemonade by FastBuds (Auto) x1 status: doing fine. - Skywalker by NASC (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. - ADDED: Glue Sniffer by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized) x1 status: started 1x Glue Sniffer, and it is doing fine. (germination week 1 in paper towel) BONUS!!! We found some more NASC freebies!! We have 3x of the Blueberry Cupcake x MAC1 by Humboldt pheno and Girl Scout Cookies (feminized) by NASC. So, we might start one of those if space permits. To conclude week1, the current sprouts are growing in their cups. They are all looking comfortable and are reaching for the wonderful, southern sunlight. We're looking forward to the next weeks of vegetation and eventually transferring them into larger pots in a few more weeks time - all while we wait for some more warmer days ahead. One thing we noticed is that they seem to do much of their growing overnight! But maybe it's because we aren't looking at them as much LOL

We grabbed only a few pics for week 2. Really not much of an update - everything is doing it's thing, growing, nothing significant to report. We had more rain and a few more cold nights - so we've kept these sprouts inside more. Already starting to see some differences between the different genetics. - Rubber Match by Secret Society Seed Co (regular seed)* x1 status: doing fine - Something Good by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. - Acapulco Gold by Barney's Farm (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. - Purple Lemonade by FastBuds (Auto) x1 status: doing fine. - Skywalker by NASC (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. - Glue Sniffer by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized) x1 status: doing fine Onward!

Documenting the progress after another week. Here's Week 3. Starting to show secondary leaves now coming in. "Acapulco Gold" and "Something Good" seem to be showing the most growth so far (more leaves, sticks in cups). Once they all get to be about as tall as the cups they're growing in, it will probably be time to transplant them into their bigger pots. These solo cups have a small hole for water to drain out as we've been manually feeding them and facing them where there's the most sun. During the day, it is sometimes warm enough to leave them outside. Lately, the air temperature has still been a bit too chilly. Once the air warms up some, we'll be putting about half of these plants in 3.5 gallon fiber pots and the other half in normal plastic pots. In February, we'll we preparing their outdoor growing space where there's plentiful sunshine and low foot traffic. - Rubber Match by Secret Society Seed Co (regular seed)* x1 status: doing fine. - Something Good by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. - Acapulco Gold by Barney's Farm (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. - Purple Lemonade by FastBuds (Auto) x1 status: doing fine. - Skywalker by NASC (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. - Glue Sniffer by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized) x1 status: doing fine Other seeds in storage: - Girl Scout Cookies - Blueberry Cupcake x MAC1 - Runtz

This update is a bit late so the pictures you see are late week 4 into week 5. Also, one of the plants (Acapulco Gold - feminized) got adopted by a friend. Not to complicate things for this diary, but we've started those extra seeds we found (scroll down to end). They've quickly germinated and now steady growing in solo cups. But let's stay on track for this diary before we branch out. One major update here is that three of the plants were transplanted into medium-sized pots with soil for vegetation and root growth. It's still a bit too cold for them outside at night, but they get lots of warm sun during the day. We've had a lot of rain here, too. So, the more sun and 70 day temps, the better. Anyway, everything is doing pretty well EXCEPT the Rubber Match seeds by Secret Society Seed Co. The plant is just not thriving and doesn't seem like it's growing as well. We tried germinating another but the seed casing is just not popping. Bummer about the Rubber Match, don't know if we have any more, gotta check... - Rubber Match by Secret Society Seed Co (regular seed)* x1 status: doing NOT fine - we're trying to save it. :/ - Something Good by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. Transplanted in bigger medium pot. - Acapulco Gold by Barney's Farm (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. Adopted by friend. - Purple Lemonade by FastBuds (Auto) x1 status: doing fine. Transplanted in bigger medium pot. - Skywalker by NASC (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. - Glue Sniffer by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. Transplanted in bigger medium pot. Other seeds now in solo cups: - Girl Scout Cookies - Blueberry Cupcake x MAC1 - Moneybagg Runtz - Blueberry - Acapulco Gold - Rubber Match (?) actually still hasn't germinated. boo...

Still in vegetation mode! Week 5-6 and growing ~ The cold air is moving out and the days are getting warmer. Multiple secondary leaves/branches starting to take shape. Also, did anybody pray for Rubber Match? - because it is still growing and surviving!! All six plants are now in medium size pots (<gallon) so we are watching for more growth and letting the roots have some more room to stretch out. Once these are about 8-9 inches tall from the soil (maybe even before) we'll be transplanting them again into their forever homes. And they will start staying outside more often at night because you know, as they begin budding, the air starts to smell too good haha. - Rubber Match by Secret Society Seed Co (regular seed)* x1 status: doing OK. Thanks for your prayers - Something Good by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. Transplanted in bigger medium pot. - Acapulco Gold by Barney's Farm (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. Adopted by friend. - Purple Lemonade by FastBuds (Auto) x1 status: doing fine. Looks like it is the biggest of the batch this week. - Skywalker by NASC (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. - Glue Sniffer by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. Transplanted in bigger medium pot. I may start a separate diary for the following batch of seeds. Possibly mid way thru once they start budding since the vegetation phase basically looks exactly the same as what you see in this diary. Other seeds now in solo cups: - Girl Scout Cookies - Blueberry Cupcake x MAC1 - Moneybagg Runtz - Blueberry - Acapulco Gold - Rubber Match (?) actually still hasn't germinated. boo...

Week6 and growing ~ Purple lemonade is the tallest so far. But look at the Rubber Match... went from almost dead to what looks like beginnings of a flower stage.. holding out ok! This week is warm and Spring feels like it is here. Flowers out, bees flying around, pollen literally covering every surface, allergy meds at the ready. The plants are loving it though, starting growing a lot faster. We also put a small dose of diluted Calmag with the water to help boost vegetation. So far so good, nice and green! - Rubber Match by Secret Society Seed Co (regular seed)* x1 status: doing OK. Not sure if started flowering yet - Something Good by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. - Acapulco Gold by Barney's Farm (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. Week 7 and growing ~ Only two plants showing clear signs of flowering, Rubber Match + Purple Lemonade. This week has been nice weather wise (during the days) and has shown to produce nice photo-period development in terms of growth from vegetation to flower. There's more than six plants going now, but for this original diary, the following plants all are doing well as of week 6 into week 7. - Rubber Match by Secret Society Seed Co (regular seed)* x1 status: doing OK. Flowering - Something Good by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. - Acapulco Gold by Barney's Farm (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. Stay tuned....

Week 8 and growing ~ Most plants showing signs of flowering! Tagging this as week 1 of flower. I will comment below on status of flower or still vegetation. Of the ones flower, the Rubber Match, Something Good, and Glue Sniffer are all starting to smell like fresh dank. Not too intense, but when you get right over them, they definitely smell different (good) at this stage. Our plants looks small and that is due to lack of light. They have had to stay inside to avoid cold weather days and wind. I think Spring has come but the nights are still a bit cold in my opinion. The newest batch of vegetating plants actually look twice as big in half as much time as they have had more time to thrive in sunny days. We are still looking forward to whatever delicious yields that will come. FLOWERING PLANTS: =============================================== - Rubber Match #1 by Secret Society Seed Co (regular seed)* x1 status: doing OK. Flowering. Stinks good too. Looks like the top pic has some young trichomes on the leaves already. Super small girl who wants more sunlight. - Something Good by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. Flowering. Nice structure on this one - it looks like it will fill out. Has a dank smell as well. - Acapulco Gold #1 by Barney's Farm (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. Adopted by friend. Some crystals showing on her from friend who adopted. - Purple Lemonade by FastBuds (Auto) x1 status: doing fine. Flowering, smell isn't as strong as others. - Skywalker by NASC (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. I enjoyed this last year so looking forward to getting it again. - Glue Sniffer by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. This one as a stinky stank also. So smell yet so loud VEGETATION PLANTS ==================================================== - Girl Scout Cookies - doing fine, vegetation looks great. - Blueberry Cupcake x MAC1 - doing fine, vegetation looks great. - Moneybagg Runtz x2 - doing fine, vegetation looks great. (these were actually seeds found in some dispensary bud lol we're not mad, at friends house, pics soon) - Blueberry - doing fine, vegetation looks great. - Acapulco Gold #2 - doing fine, vegetation looks great. - Rubber Match #2 didn't pan out :( ... but we have In House Genetics Slurricane #7 S1 arriving today to take it's place, woohoo!

Week 2-3 of flowering. Had another cold week so growth was minimal. Now the sun is out nice and bright, these plants love it, their leaves point up to the sun. Trichomes on Rubber Match, Purple Lemonade, Something Good, and Glue Sniffer looking great. Rubber Match is probably going to be a micro plant, but we will go as long as she will let us. We are still looking forward to whatever delicious yields that will come. FLOWERING PLANTS: =============================================== - Rubber Match #1 by Secret Society Seed Co (regular seed)* x1 status: doing OK. Flowering. Herculean Harvest 200 mll
Week 3-4 of flowering. Batch #2 plants are taller since they are growing in better conditions outside (nice sun, warm days). Batch #1 of flowering plants are now getting a dose of Herculean Harvest to boost Phosphorus while they are budding. I got some great close-up pics of the few that have the most trichomes. The rubber match #1 is such a micro plant, we'll excited for the few bowls it lets us enjoy anyways lol. See the pictures, seems like a few weeks left tbh. Week 4-5 of flowering. Batch #2 plants are looking great and tall. The budding batch 1 plants are just all going to be small because I started too early. But, nonetheless, we'll take what we can get. Herculean Harvest - Oregon’s Only (Nectar for the Gods)
Herculean Harvest 200 mll
Week 6-7 of flowering. Combining two weeks into this update mid week! We have 1 successful harvest of the small bonsai Rubber Match LOL! See pictures of the trimmed Rubber Match bud. Those thricomes were pretty much on point! Rubber Match bud dried for about 10 days inside and smoked wonderfully smooth. We could have cured it some, but it was just so small and dank we couldn't help ourselves. Yesterday we chopped the Purple Lemonade and hung it to dry. It is slightly larger and smells more citrus than the Rubber Match. We are still looking forward to whatever delicious yields that will come. HARVESTED PLANTS: ======================= - Rubber Match #1 by Secret Society Seed Co (regular seed)* x1 status: DONE. See harvest pictures. I'd say this is a solid B+ or even A quality here. Potent indica that creeps up to a nice stoney vibe. Earthy, woody taste, smooth in take, relaxing, not harsh at all. Smoke: 9/10 Smell: 8/10 Taste: 8/10 Charm: 10/10 - Purple Lemonade by FastBuds (Auto) x1 status: Chopped, hanging up to dry for a few weeks. FLOWERING PLANTS: =============================================== - Something Good by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. This one has about 2 weeks left before CHOP - Acapulco Gold #1 by Barney's Farm (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. - Skywalker by NASC (feminized) x1 status: doing fine. Herculean Harvest - Oregon’s Only (Nectar for the Gods)
Herculean Harvest 200 mll
Week 7-8 of flowering. Only two more plants from Batch #1 still flowering (needs more time) ... that is the Glue Sniffer + Acapulco Gold. Pretty sure both have genetics which I've found to take a bit longer to harvest. Trichomes just aren't ready. We have 1 successful harvest of the small Purple Lemonade. Trimmed nice and smoke evenly. Curing in jar for a month. Today we chopped the Something Good and Skywalker. They are now both hanging to dry. We are still looking forward to whatever delicious yields that will come. HARVESTED PLANTS: ======================= - Rubber Match #1 by Secret Society Seed Co (regular seed)* x1 status: DONE. Indica Smoke: 9/10 Smell: 8/10 Taste: 8/10 Charm: 10/10 - Purple Lemonade by FastBuds (Auto) x1 status: DONE. See harvest pictures today. Strong sativa with instead head buzz. Smells way different than Rubber Match, def cirtus gas dank smell and taste. Sativa high for sure! Smoke: 9/10 Smell: 8/10 Taste: 7/10 Charm: 8/10 - Skywalker by NASC (feminized) x1 status: CHOPPED, hanging to dry. Smells great :) - Something Good by Twenty20 Mendocino (feminized) x1 status: CHOPPED. hanging to dry. Smells is weird. It is something weird, I honestly cannot describe it, like a weird fruit/pot smell, time will tell. @love_2_grow, thanks for the comment. This will be my third year of growing my own so hopefully I have learned a few lessons and don't repeat some previous mistakes.

Autos don’t have to be small, and your plants were stunted due to stress of some sort. Could be lots of things but my guess is cool overnight temperatures. For northern hemisphere outdoor autos, or at least here in Canada, don’t start autos until mid to late May. Your plants will be way bigger and still done by end of Summer. Good luck.
