I chose the straight to soil method. Image is from 1/3/2023 7:30 p.m. day seed was planted. I will be germinating directly in soil because it eliminates the risk of damage to the tap root due to mishandling. Today morning of 1/5/2023 no sign yet of seed sprouting.
Its 1/13/2023 10:30 pm and The White Og has been doing good this past week. She surfaced 4 days after being planted directly into soil and has stretched out quite a bit these past days. She stands a little above 3 inches at the moment. I have her under a 40 watt led light on the 18-6 schedule for her first two weeks as a seedling. Later on I will be moving her to her permanent home inside a grow box I created under the 400 w mh.
Another week gone by! I repotted The White Og from the container I sprouted it on into a 1.5 gal pot. And also moved her into the box I made for it where she will spend the rest of her life. I will veg her there till she starts outgrowing its medium then later on I will transplant into bigger 7 or 10 gal pots. As I want to try and grow a decent size plant. So far the issue I’m having is keeping up the humidity at a steady percentage inside the box. I do have a humidifier but I have it on a timer as I don’t want it running all the time. Regardless the seedling seems healthy. I water every day a smaller amount instead of completely drenching the medium. I am using nutrients its my first time doing so I hope I don’t end up burning my plant. And thats all I have for this week.
This White Og plant has been doing good since the start. I haven’t had any issues so far with it. Seems overall happy and her growth is very consistent. I only water when dry. With a mix of FOOP nutes. Veg 1, Veg 2, and Sweetener. It looks like she adapted well to the box and to the 1.5 gallon pot transfer. The temperature range stays between 72-77 f. Its just the humidity that varies greatly at times. Due to being the middle of winter and me having to have a heater in the box with them running a decent amount of time. I placed a humidifier in an attempt to raise the humidity to their comfort zone. Otherwise she is looking nice and healthy!
