Week 1
Things are off and running. I am super excited to run Barney’s genetics. It will be a first for me but I have heard nothing but good things.
I will be mainlining this plant to 8 tops along with a Dark Phoenix (see other diary) which will also be mainlined to 8 tops.
Onward! 😎🍻
Week 3
This week has been full of growth which brought us to the start of mainlining. It’s always hard to chop up a beautiful looking plant but it’s worth it. This little lady seems to be the most vigorous out of the two plants I’m growing (see other diary for the Dark Phoenix). Things are starting to get fun now.
Onward 😎🍻
Week 4
So this week saw the first round of LST using the little eyelets I have installed in the top of the cooler. The plant is responding nicely to all the training so far. She is a bushy gal. I should be up to 4 tops this week.
Cooler internals:
6.0 pH
0.3 EC
65F solution temp
Onward! 😎🍻
Week 5
I am happy with the progress of this plant. She has 4 tops now so it won’t be long until I get her up to the magic number, 8. Things are chugging along nicely so far.
Cooler internals:
6.2pH
0.4 EC
65 F solution temp
Onward 😎🍻
Week 6
Well, I finally have 8 tops 😎. Now it’s just a matter of keeping her growing strong and training the tops into the right position. After that is accomplished it’s show time. I am going to guess that it will take a 7-10 days for me to get her where I like it at which point I’ll let her get a few nodes taller and then flip. Main-lining takes some extra time but it is worth it imo.
Cooler internals are:
6.0 pH
0.4 EC
65 F solution temp.
The tent is running 71 F lights on and 68 F lights off. Humidity is 36-38%.
Onward!! 😎🍻
Week 7
This plant has been a pleasure to grow so far. It seems to be growing more vigorously than the Dark Phoenix I am growing along side her. I will be flipping in the next few days. I am pretty pumped to flip this plant.
I will LST for the first week of the flip to help control the height and locate each cola where I want it to maximize light and air movement.
Cooler internals:
6.0 pH
0.4 EC
65 F solution temp.
Onward 😎🍻
Week 8 ( week 1 of flower)
Things are looking good so far. The plant is nice and symmetrical and she takes to training like a champ!
Cooler internals are:
6.0ph
0.9 EC
425 ppm
65 F solution Temp
Onward 😎👍🍻
Week 9
This plant is going to be a beast. She is stretching out like a champ. There are pistils shooting out now. She hasn’t exactly exploded with pistils going into flowering but the breeder says it’s a 9-10 weeks for flower so I am not surprised. I am impressed with the symmetric structure of this plant!! Can’t wait for her to start throwing out buds.
Cooler internals:
6.0 pH
1.0EC
500 ppm
65F solution temp.
Onward 😎🍻
Week 10
Week 3 of Flower
This plant has exploded over the course of a week. She is starting to crowd out her tent mate a little at this point lol. I had to do another round of defoliating because the fan leaves on this plant get so big! I am pretty impressed with the stretch and vigorous growth this week. I can’t wait to see this lady start stacking on some bud.
Cooler Internals:
600 ppm
1.2 EC
5.9-61 pH (it swings a bit over 3 days)
65 F Solution Temp.
Onward 😎🍻
Week 11
Week 4 of flower
This plant is super happy! She prays to the lights everyday. She ended up stretching a bit more then I like but it is what it is. She also got quite bushy but I don’t want to stress her by taking anymore fan leaves. I will just stick to tucking leaves here and there. All in all I am pretty happy where she is at.
Cooler internals:
5.9pH
650ppm
67F solution temp
Onward 😎🍻
Week 5 of flower:
Well I had held out hope that this plant was just a late bloomer and she would really burst into flowering but that hope has faded. I think there is a combo of things at play here. One is just genetics. It’s always a role of the dice when it comes to starting from seed. Also, I had set up my air stones in a different orientation and unbeknownst to me it had created a bit of a whirlpool within the cooler and the roots wrapped up on themselves. This stunted grow a bit as well I am sure.
The smell of this plant is out of this world though!! It’s a sweet orange scent that is just intoxicating so I will have to run this again next run and try to get a better flowering phenotype.
Onward 😎🍻
Week 6 of flower
Well I had held out hope that this plant would burst into flowering but it just never happened. She is going to be a popcorn queen lol. On the positive side she does have a highly intoxicating sweet orange scent to her. I will have to grow it again sometime to see if I get a better flowering plant.
Cooler internals:
5.9pH
350ppm
65F
😎🍻
Week 7 of Flower
This plant is going to be done in about a week or so. She never really filled out like I had hoped but what she lacks in chunk she makes up for in frost. I don’t expect a huge yield but the smell of this plant has me super excited for the end result.
Cooler internals;
5.9 pH
350ppm
66 F
😎
Well this colourful popcorn queen will be ready to take down in a couple of days. She won’t be a big yielder but what she will lack in yield she seems to make up for in smell and trichomes. The smell she gives off is a sweet orange smell 🍊🍭. I can wait to sample her after she has cured for a couple weeks.
😎
This strain was fairly easy to grow. The pheno I had didn’t really yield all that well as it was a popcorn queen which was unfortunate given the unique scent and crazy amount of frost she produced. I will definitely grow this strain again to try and get better results. She took well to training and didn’t mind nutes at higher ppms. In the end she still have a decent yield at 179 grams.
