2023 Autos

~ 1st week ~ Immediately after sprouting, the seedlings were transplanted into the target 20-liter breathable pots. The substrate was a half and half mixture of peat soil and coconut fiber with a small addition of perlite. Starting from seedlings, throughout the vegetative phase, the plants will be well nourished with HESI nutrients every third day : · Root Complex - 5 ml / 1 l of water · TNT Complex - 5 ml / 1 l of water · SuperVit - 1 drop / 5 l of water The room temperature is set at 26°C in light and 20°C in darkness. Lamps hung at a height of 35 cm above the plants and set to 20% power for now. Most likely i won't be using any 'techniques' - i just want to check how my new LEDs work, learn them well and shoot few nice photos. Besides - the plants are auto-flowers, so even for this reason no 'techniques' are likely to come into play. And very well - harvest will be earlier.

~ 2nd week ~ At the begining of this week the plants were about 7 cm tall and have a developed first floor of true leaves. At the end of the week, they already have a second layer of leaves quite developed. The span of the lower leaves is more than 15 cm. The lamps are still hanging 35 cm above the plants, but i turned up their power to 40%. The plants look nice and healthy. So far, everything's going smoothly.

~ 3rd week ~ At the beginning of the week, the plants are 10 cm tall and have a developed second layer of leaves. Side branches form at the nodes. At the end of the week, they are 15 cm tall, over 30 cm in diameter and have a third layer of leaves developed. The space between nodes is 1 cm in Dutch Passion's strains and 2 cm in SSSC strains. I increased the power of the lamps to 60%. All look nice and healthy.

~ 4th week ~ At the beginning of the week the plants are 15 cm tall and over 35 cm in diameter. They started to develop fifth layer of leaves. The lower leaves became huge, almost like chestnut leaves. The main trunk is as thick as a pencil. It's not very clear in the photos, but the side branches are 5cm long, and the space between nodes is 2,5 cm. The middle plant on the left (#2 Purple OG Punch) is significantly taller than all the others. She is over 30 cm tall. The rest of plants are 15-20 cm tall. I swapped places #2 with #1 because the 'two' obscured the others in the photos. UPDATE: I had to trim the top of this tallest plant (PPOG #1 from now) - by the end of the week she was twice as tall as all the others. She had to fit in with the rest - otherwise i would have trouble with the entire crop. At the end of the week, i sprayed the plants with a neem oil solution. I always do it (once a month) during each crop prophylactically - since i had a sad experience with a spider mites some time ago. Once the plants are in the flowering phase, i won't be spraying them any more - that would be bad to the taste of smoke. Instead, i'll use the Neoseiulus Californicus (beneficial mite). I increased the power of the lamps to 80%. The plants look magnificent - you can see that they lack nothing. And that's most important. Keep it up.

~ 5th week ~ At the beginning of the week, the plants are about 20 cm tall (after pruning the tallest plant). The lowest branches are also 20 cm long, so they are already visible from under the leaves covering them until now. At the end of the week, the plants are 30 cm tall. The pruned plant develops elegantly without any visible signs of suffering. She's still taller than the others, but not as much. The first signs of flowering are visible - hairs appear on the nodes and a subtle scent begins to be felt. Plants look very nice and healthy. I increased the power of the lamps to 100 %.

~ 6th week ~ Plants vary greatly in height - the two tallest (PPOG#1 & #2) are half a meter high, the two medium ones (PPOG#3 & CJ#1) are 40cm tall and the two shortest (CJ#2 & MT) are 35cm high. Most plants enter the flowering phase very quickly - they stretch out to the light and hairs appear on them in large numbers. Two plants (CJ#2 & PPOG#3) are clearly lagging behind the rest and are not showing any flowering symptoms yet - as if they are not autoflowers (or are they?). The plants are more thirsty now, so i increased the watering frequency to every second day. They look very nice, fresh and healthy. Things are picking up speed and it's starting to get interesting.

~ 7th week ~ Finally all the plants are blooming. It just happened at the end of the week. So two plants are 2 weeks behind the others. Not so good. But we'll manage ;) Now that everything is in bloom, i used Neoseiulus Californicus - a beneficial mite that fights spider mites (among others) and similar nasty things. Just in case. I hung the preparation on the tallest plant - one small bag is enough for the entire crop (such as this one). I also started to use HESI nutrients for the flowering phase: · Bloom Complex ➝ 5ml / 1l of water · Phosphorus Plus ➝ 3ml / 1l of water · SuperVit ➝ 1 drop / 5l of water (twice a week) also: · PowerZyme ➝ 2ml / 1l of water · Boost ➝ 2ml / 1l of water (every second week) CJ#1 needs the most water - she drinks twice as much as the rest. Her thirst is manifested by slightly limp leaves. In addition, i can feel it by the weight of the pots - it is twice as light as the others. I have to feed her more often - surprisingly, because she is not very large - other larger ones do not drink so much. She is half a meter tall. CJ#2 is 35 cm tall and is the shortest plant in the entire crop (so far), also the last to bloom. MT blooms beautifully - her flowers have densely packed, massive buds (this is just the beginning) and overall - despite her average height (40 cm now) - she is the most massive plant in the entire crop. As you can see - the plants vary greatly in height: At the moment PPOG#2 is the queen of height - 82 cm. The second is PPOG#1 (the pruned one) - 70 cm, before PPOG#3 - 60 cm. And these are the three tallest plants in the entire crop. Next is CJ#1 - 50 cm. MT is 40 cm, and the shortest one CJ#2 is 35 cm. Thus, the difference between the tallest and the shortest plant is huge - almost half a meter. In such situation, my new lamps work really great (apart from the fact that they are excellent in general) - i can easy separate them and after a little rearrangement adjust the height accordingly to almost each plant. Cool!

~ 8th week ~ I did a little rearrangement in the grow room : I set the plants by height - two tallest in the back, two medium in the middle and two shortest in the front (as seen in the picture). Thanks to this, i can now easily adjust the height of the lamps according to the height of the plants - so that they are all evenly and well lit. And they are now more visible in the photos - they do not cover each other. All three PPOGs are the tallest plants in the entire crop - almost twice as tall as the others. The tallest plant is still PPOG#2 - 91 cm high, but PPOG#3 (currently 85 cm high) will probably soon outgrow it. PPOG#1 (the pruned one) is 77 cm tall. CJ#1 is 53 cm tall and gaining mass quickly. CJ#2 has surpassed the MT so she's no longer the lowest in this crop. She's 46 cm tall. MT seems to have stopped growing upwards (still 40 cm), but she's expanding in breadth - quite strongly. She is currently the lowest in this crop, although the most stocky - her flowers have hard, densely packed large buds. Too bad it doesn't show up well in the photos. I don't know why, but i feel a special inner connection with her. Plant order from tallest to lowest : PPOG#2 - 91 cm tall PPOG#3 - 85 cm tall PPOG#1 - 77 cm tall CJ#1 - 53 cm tall CJ#2 - 46 cm tall MT - 40 cm tall All plants are now very thirsty, so they are watered daily - half a liter per plant. They look healthy and bloom beautifully, giving off an intense fruity fragrance.

~ 9th week ~ Plants mature - some faster, some slower, but it happens. PPOG#3 has matched the height of PPOG#2, so that they both tower over the rest of the crop. They currently measure 94 cm tall. These are 3 different phenomena: PPOG#2 is the most Sativa-like - it has very sparse buds, but in huge amounts, and few (almost none) leaves in the upper parts. PPOG#3 is the closest in appearance to Indica - densely packed buds and quite broad leaves. PPOG#1 is something in between. Although she would be the tallest if wasn't cropped. She's now almost 80 cm tall. Both Cinderellas look very interesting - the side branches match the length up to the top, so that the plants look like birds with outstretched wings for flight. CJ#1 is more developed than CJ#2 as it flowered much earlier. But CJ#2 catches up to her quickly. Both have plenty of dense buds. MT is the fastest - despite the shortest height, she weighs the most and takes on colors the fastest. Hair turns brown, leaves darken or turn yellow, buds swell, and resin drops are visible with a naked eye. Smells like in exotic garden. No wonder - so it is :)

~ 10th week ~ Three Purple OG Punch plants - seeds of the same variety, of the same brand, from the same package ... and they look like different species. One of the few things they have in common is height. They are not the tallest in the world, but in this crop they are twice as large as other plants. And that translates into a large yield - from what i can see. They are a meter high. PPOG#2 has the most interesting look - she has very sparse buds, but she's full of them, starting from the lowest parts. Long and very narrow leaves (100%-Sativa-like) are only in the lower parts - from the middle of the height there are only a few tiny leaves. Very long and very thin stems completely covered with resin. It would be a shame to throw them away - i will definitely use them for something (oil or hash) - they could even be smoked after grinding. PPOG#3 (Indica-like) has very dense buds with very long and thick hairs. She bloomed late, so she's just starting to mature - the hair is still white and the trichomes are just starting to show. It promises a big harvest. PPOG#1 is the most mature of them. She was the tallest of all in the vegetative stage, so she was trimmed - completely unnecessary, as i see it now. Lots of medium sized but dense buds full of resin side by side along the entire branches. Big yielder also. Both Cinderellas have a similar shape and color, as well as abundance and density of buds. They are clearly from the same litter (same phenotype). CJ#1 is 66 cm tall. CJ#2 is a bit younger as it bloomed a week later. She's 60 cm tall. The leaves are no longer dark green and become more olive with yellow tips. In turn, the buds shimmer in light with all colors of rainbow and gleam with resin. If their effect will be like appearance ... Mokum's Tulip is already quite mature, as evidenced by her appearance: She took on beautiful autumn colors - the edges of the upper leaves turned yellow with a red border, and the hair became intensely red. She has huge, shiny buds full of resin. Though also plenty of huge and wide 100%-Indica-style leaves - very dense. There will be a lot of work with this during the harvest. But somehow it doesn't bother me at all ;) Next week - flushing.

~ 11th week (Before Harvest) ~ Cinderellas mature - slowly and thoroughly. The leaves have faded a bit but not yellowed - they are still intensely green. The buds have a slightly pink (heather) tint, in the light - a rainbow, and most of the hairs are dark orange. They are massive and full of resin. Harvest soon. All PPOGs are already very mature - most of the fan leaves have fallen off on their own, and the rest have turned yellow with a tint of pink and red. The buds are medium in size, but very plentiful and very densely packed, glistening with congealing resin. They really do have a pinkish-purple hue. PPOG#2 definitely stands out from all the others not only by the height, but also by the shape of the buds - very sparse but in huge numbers and look like a lily of the valley flower. Harvest behind the belt. MT is almost ready - all hair is red and the trichomes have turned cloudy, looking more like milk than ice. As soon as they become mostly amber - that's when i cut. And that's soon - in a few days :) I stopped watering.

~ 12th week ~ Mokum's Tulip is already drying in privacy. Five plants are still growing. This week there was no more fertilization and very little watering. I expected a harvest, but from what i see, it won't be until next week. Purple OG Punch plants are already very mature, however the buds are still gaining mass, and the drops of resin are getting bigger and more of them - as you can see in the high magnification photos. So, no need to rush - i'll wait another week - more goodies will come for sure. And during this time - most of the leaves will fall off and there will be less work at harvesting :) A similar story with the Cinderellas - although already mature, they still develop. The buds are still getting bigger and the resin builds day by day. It would be a shame to cut now when i can get much more in a week. And i'm in no hurry ;)

~ 12th week - HARVEST ~ Mokum's Tulip reached the finish line. Looks amazing! She was cut down close to the ground, after removing all the leaves that had no resin. Then hung up as a whole in a dark, well ventilated place at 18°C. When it dries - then i'll weigh, smoke and review.

~ 13th week (Before Harvest) ~ Plants survived another - last - week. Can't seem to get any more out of them. Harvest tomorrow.

~ 13th week - HARVEST ~ The plants lasted another week. I did as the Dutch Passion guy suggested and plucked all the larger leaves. Although Cinderellas are not impressive in size, their buds are - big, thick, massive, densely packed, dripping with resin. They have a lilac shade, and in the right lighting they shimmer with all the colors of the rainbow. Probably the best time to harvest. On a full moon, they were cut off just above the ground and hung whole in a secluded, dark, well-ventilated room at 18°C. They will hang there until they dry - probably by the end of the month. Then i'll weigh, smoke, and review.

~ 13th week HARVEST ~ The plants lasted another week. Predictably, by the end of the week, most of the leaves had fallen off on their own, and i helped those that remained fall off. Can't seem to get any more out of them. All Purple OG Punch plants look amazing and unique - each one of its kind. Common features are high size and colors. They really are purple - stems, leaves, flowers, literally everything, even the resin seems to have a purple tint. On a full moon, they were cut off just above the ground and hung whole in a secluded, dark, well-ventilated room at 18°C. They will hang there until they dry - probably by the end of the month. Then i'll weigh, smoke, and review.
