Filling out the auto tent this run is Strawberry Pie, once again graciously provided by @OriginalSensible. Along with the Apple Fritter already underway in this tent, I look forward to a harvest of dank, luscious fruit salad.
I started germinating one seed, and although it cracked, it never sprouted. I waited about a week on it. The second seed I germinated without issue, as detailed below.
I soaked the seed overnight in distilled water and then put it between two pieces of wet paper towel the next day and placed inside a ziplock baggy. I put the baggy inside a shoebox and rested that on a germination mat in a darkened tent for the next 48 hours. Following this, the seed had a small tail and I moved it to a pete plug and into the germination tray. Seed sprouted within about 72 hours and rooted through the pete plug two days after that. I transplanted the seedling to a net pot in a 5-gallon DWC bucket today, 8 days after the initial soak.
"Strawberry Pie Auto is the new mouthwatering strain from Original Sensible Seeds. Incredibly sweet and fruity with a pleasurable stimulating effect that will elate and arouse you'll feel like you're drifting through strawberry fields forever!"
Strawberry Pie, Ruderalis

More news next week ✌️
The Strawberry Pie is doing great. She was pretty tiny when I moved her into the bucket last week but she's starting to look like a pretty solid little plant.
Roots haven't broken through the net pot yet but I suspect it won't be long, another day or two. She got a couple of top feedings during the week.
More news next week ✌️
The Strawberry Pie is coming along pretty nicely. The roots have popped through the net pot and have started to establish themselves.
LST will likely commence later in a few days. She'll get the same bend over treatment as the Apple Fritter in the bucket next door.
More news next week ✌️
The Strawberry Pie is doing great.
I had originally planned to bend her over and give her the LST treatment, but got lazy and decided to FIM and lollipop her instead. The Apple Fritter beside her is getting only LST, so it will be an interesting side-by-side comparison of the two techniques.
She got her first rez change this week. EC and PH have been incredibly stable all week.
EC: .8
PH: 6.2
I suspect she will go into flower before the week is out.
More news next week ✌️
The Strawberry Pie is growing well and went into flower a few days ago.
She didn't miss a beat following last week's FIM and looks like she should have a decent shape to her.
I did a bit more trimming this week - more pruning than defoliaiton.
Rez change today with the addition of flowering nutes; EC is at 1.0 with the change in feed. She's been feeding well throughout the week and her EC/PH have been very stable:
EC:.6-.7
PH: 6-6.1
Thanks for tuning in. More news next week ✌️
End of second week of flower for the Strawberry Pie and she's looking pretty good. She grew another 11" since last week and I'm happy to see her canopy is pretty much even with the Apple Pie growing next to her.
She's looking quite regal with the 3 crowns on the top of her main stem. Kind of wild. Don't know that I've had a plant display that kind of look before.
Cut out more of the lower side branches to keep things clean and focused.
Was suffering more equipment issues, and consequently, erroneous PH readings. Was having issues calibrating my PH pen but got things sorted once I soaked the probe and got things cleaned up and reset.
More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
The Strawberry Pie is coming along. Buds are starting to fatten and first signs of frost are appearing.
She's slowing down her stretch, putting on about 6" since last week, and is standing 30" tall now.
Some of the older leaves on the plant are showing some rust spots; almost certainly due to the PH being out of whack when my PH pen was out of calibration a few weeks back. I suspected she might be suffering from lockout as her EC has been creeping up over the week, so I gave her a 24-hour flush with filtered water and GH Kleen. Refreshed her rez yesterday and things seem to be back in check 👍
More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
End of week 4 of flower for the Strawberry Pie and her buds are getting juicer.
Gave her a pretty significant defoliation (a sticky affair) and opened her right up so to get as much air flow and light coverage as we can for the final few weeks.
Pistils are starting to turn brown and more frost is setting in as the buds continue to fatten.
No changes to her diet. Readings for the week below:
EC: 1.1 - 1.3
PH: 5.8 - 6.2
More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
Last few weeks for the Strawberry Pie.
She's looking a little beat up due to ongoing PH imbalances in her rez. I've been battling my equipment with my PH pen giving me issues and inconsistent readings (having a tough time establishing the 2nd point of calibration reliably). I'm hoping I have things solved but have also ordered a new probe just in case. I gave her another 24 hour flush this week and she seems to be feeding normally since.
More news next week. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
Getting near the end for the Strawberry Pie.
Trichs are pretty cloudy throughout the plant but I'll let her ripen up a bit more before taking her down.
Water top-ups from here on out - I stopped feeding her a few days ago.
Hopefully the next update will be a harvest report. Thanks for tuning in ✌️
Finishing up with the Strawberry Pie.
I've been giving her water only top-ups for the past several days.
She'll likely get chopped within the next week.
Thanks for tuning in ✌️
A bit of a challenging grow given the unfortunate deficiencies the plant encountered due to my PH and EC meters being out of whack for several weeks. I dare say she is not all that she could have been.
I will say, this is the least terpy plant I've grown. The stem-rub experience is disappointing 😕 - no discernible flavours; certainly no hints of strawberry or any fruitiness. 'Smells like weed', as my wife would say. We'll see how she smokes once she has time to cure.
