Day 21 today. Transplanted into 10 gal. Rain Science grow bag. First time I’ve used these. Did a terrible job getting it in the center, but I’m not messing with it anymore. Very short and stout.
Had a set back. After transplant to 10 gal pot, it immediately started to burn up. I think I mis calculated the amount of fox farm fruit and flower I mixed in the soil since I also reused some soil that also had nutrients in it. I had to remove from 10 gal. and put into a 3 gal of straight happy frog to recover. Still getting a little bit of residual burning. Plant is growing fair though.
Day 35 today. The issues I had earlier have been resolved, and the plant is vegging nicely now. I moved it back to the 10 gal. Rain Science grow bag full of fresh Happy Frog. It’s staying shorter than I’m typically used to, so I raised the light a little to encourage some stretching. It’s around 7 1/2” tall right now. fimmed it on day 39.
Started flowering on day 43. Overall plant looks healthy. Looks like it’s getting ready to start it’s stretching. On day 46 I removed the top 4 biggest fan leaves that were blocking new buds sites. Very bushy. I’m fact I’ve never had a plant with this kind of growth habits. Day 47 I decided it was just to thick with growth. I went ahead and thinned it out quite a bit. I’m not highly optimistic for this plant at this point.
Day 49. 6 days flowering. Still waiting on first pistils. Plant is healthy, but very little stretch to this point. I did a major defoliation, removing about 50% of the leaves, and watered with Recharge, Fish Sh!t, and cal mag. On day 51 I could barely tell I touched it.
Day 56 today, 13 days of flower. Just starting to see a few pistils. Seems to be flowering pretty slow for an indica. Overall the plant is pretty healthy. Very bushy, and will defoliate again once I get some budlets going.
On day 59 I did a major defoliation because the plant was just too bushy, especially in the center. No light was getting through, so I was afraid I was looking at only getting small popcorn buds due to no light. I defoliated, and tied the branches down to get light to all parts of the plant. Today is day 18 of flower.
Day 21 flowering. Plant looks pretty good, although I do see some indications of a possible calcium deficiency, so I watered today with recharge and calmag. Day 26 flowering. Watered again yesterday with cal mag, and a tablespoon of epsom salt to try to stop neurosis on the leaves.
Slow and steady. Day 28 flowering, but really day 8 from when it first showed little budlets. Still fighting some brown spots on leaves. Pretty sure my PH was to low causing my issues. I decided to try flushing the soil. Used 6 gallons of plain water, and one gallon of Recharge as the last gallon. Also removed a large amount of damaged leaves. Day 30 of 12/12. Issue seems to have stabilized since the flush.
I am almost positive ph was my issue with the spotty leaves. It as not worsened since the flush. Today is day 35 of 12/12, but really the plant didn’t start showing buds until March 20, so day 16 since then. Watered today with recharge, fish sh!t, and a little fox farm beastie bloomz. Hopefully this adds more microbes back to the soil after the flush I did. Day 38 of 12/12. Not much change, and plant still persists on the brown spotting. I’ve exhausted all ideas to improve it, so I’ll just keep adding cal mag when I water, and whatever happens happens.
Starting week 6. Buds seem to be growing slowly, and I speculate this will be around an 80 day flowering cycle. Still has a lot of rust spots on leaves, but doesn’t seem to be worsening. Day 46 of 12/12. Buds not swelling like I’m accustomed to, but are very slowly growing.
Day 49 of flowering today. Starting week 7. It’s slowly swelling, but looks like it still has around 30 days to go. Leaves are still ugly, but seems to be healthy. I continue to use cal mag, but may quit because it doesn’t seem to be helping anything. Day 54 of flowering. Not much change happening now. Plant is in ripening mode, and not swelling much more. Day 57 of flowering. Removed a small bud, and looked at trichomes. No amber at all, and mostly just cloudy. Day 59 flowering. Must of the larger foliage is dying off. Thinking one more week before harvest.
Day 59 of flowering. Most of the larger foliage is dying off. Trichomes are cloudy. Smell is very dank, and buds are very sticky. Day 61 flowering. Planning on 10 more days. Still no amber trichs.
Difficult plant to grow. Between the dense foliage, and tight node spacing. Constant defoliation was needed. Plus the issue with leaf necrosis that I couldn’t get under control, made this a difficult grow. Ended up with 17 wet ounces, so will end up with around 4 dry.
