Same process, having trouble with the soil and I am willing to bet the root growth is poor. I hate this Pro-Mix potting soil I used, should have realized how many problems it contributed to my first grow. Maybe when I transplant I can mix in more perlite in the soil and get better water distribution?
I'm not sure how long I will let the Purple Punch grow before starting flowering. My thought is to keep it going until the Granite Runtz in the same tent are harvested, which probably will be about 5-7 weeks. I expect the 5 gallon pot will be a limiting factor for growth, even If I keep feeding with the amendments, but will the plant suffer or just stop growing?
I had some failed grows preceding this that I haven't bothered transferring my notes to here. The media I was using was super hydrophobic, did not wet well nor drain properly at all. I realized this all too late after germinating and decided to stick with it to see what gives. I eventually transplant into 7 gallon pots with more of the same Pro-Mix potting mix with additional (but insufficient) perlite. After almost 2 weeks I decided to rip that out and transplant into 5 gallon pots with fox farms ocean forest with perlite.
Ok, I've brought this grow diary up to date, I have week 10's pics and notes to upload once we pass the 24th. Controlling tent conditions has become much easier with set thresholds to turn fans on to maintain Temp.RH and am aiming for a 1.0 VPD.
I don't think I'll be defoliating until I get more growth and closer to flower. I am growing 3 autoflowers at the same time so I think I will see those through harvest and then flip this to flower. I want to get better with the veg stage.
