I set up the screen tonight and pruned and defoliated. These are all clones transplanted about three weeks ago to the 5 gallon pots they are currently in. I use ProMix with mycorrhizae for the bottom 3/4 of pot and finish off the top 1/4 with Fox Farms Happy Frog and their starter mix. I'm currently watering about 0.75 gallons for each plant every 4-5 days with only Cal Mag Plus, and I use vinegar to pH to around 6.3 or so. I top dressed each plant with 3 tablespoons of Fox Farm Happy Frog Fruit and Vegetable tonight. I treat all plants the same unless a major problem pops up. I will update each Sunday
End of week 4. Just water with vinegar for pH for the past week. Orange Velvet Underground is now taking about twice as much water as others. It's a nice vigorous plant relatively speaking for this garden. Blueberry Muffin has a lovely leaf and growth structure - wide thin umbrella leaves. Runtz is a spindly little plant, but healthy so far and finally taking off. The Arsonist is the slow poke, so far, and Fluff's Travels is another lovely unique plant with wide canopy covering leaves. Pistachio is the only one out of the group that has a slight issue, a combo of the light intensity and maybe a bit of nutrient overload after top dressing last week, but overall nothing to worry about or change relative to others. I'll keep with just water and vinegar again this coming week as well. Likely switch to flower in 10 days or so. Happy Sunday
End of week 5. Vegetative growth is in full force and most all the plants were asking for a bit more food and water so I had one watering with just water and one with Dyna-Gro Grow. I like the two part Grow Bloom when the plants ask for it. The Arsonist and Runtz may not fill their portion of the screen before switching to flower. They were just a tad smaller clones and haven't caught up yet. Lots of tucking and defoliating fan leaves last week and the coming week. Happy Sunday
End of week 6. Temps were cold this week which slowed things down a bit. I don't have temp control or air exchange for this room so the plants do suffer a bit as a result of changing environment. I try to keep the humidity above 40 but even that's hard some days. Same amount of water and nutrients as last week, but I did raise the light to the final spot for flowering stage. It's about 42 inches from canopy now and 70 percent dimmed. I'm going to try to wrangle things for a few more days, maybe a full week, to let Runtz and The Arsonist fill out their part of the screen. I'll set up the top screen and do a better defoliation this week, wait for a couple days, then switch to flower. I'll give them a half rate Dyna-Gro Bloom feed whenever I make the switch and they need water. Happy Sunday.
End of week 7. It has still been a little cold and dry this week but all seems to be going OK, just moving a little slow. I switched to Dyna-Gro Bloom this week and watering is about every two days now. I moved the dimmer down to 60 percent too as they still seemed a bit light burnt, especially Pistachio. But today they seem to be reaching a bit. Today I did a big defoliation of all leaves and bud sites below the first screen, and then I set up the second screen. The real adventure begins tonight, switching to 12/12. Happy Sunday
End of the first week of flowering (day 7). I backed off the nutrients this past week and water amount as they were still recovering a bit from a good defoliation, and a slight nutrient burn, but they're doing well today. I'll be removing select sun leaves and lower bud sites for the next couple weeks, but mostly just watching them grow. Happy Sunday
End of week 2 of flowering (day 14). I turned the dimmer up to 100 percent this past week. They seem to be doing OK. I let the plants grow up to the lamp and they're about 32 inches away now. Hopefully just another 6-8 inches of growth, maximum. Still a little nutrient burn, but not too bad so the nutrient and watering has been the same. Maybe just water for the coming week. I have not defoliated at all the past week, will start a bit this week. Happy Sunday
End of week 3 of flower (day 21). Rough week TBH. Wild swings in temperature and humidity, they did not like the light at 100 percent, and they are still a bit nutrient burnt. But, I turned the light back to 70 percent mid week and only water the past week, and the last couple days they look better. Not much I can do about temperature and humidity swings, but I try my best. Another big issue for the room is I have no air exchange. Blueberry Muffin just started showing some Cla/Mag deficiency today, so I'll go back to adding nutrients this coming week. Happy Sunday.
End of week 4 of flower (day 28). I seem to have most of the stress from the previous week under control but not all. It's still just a little cold and dry but things are improving on that end too with the arrival of spring. They're still not using much water either. Orange Velvet Underground needs some extra P this coming week, and I may up the fertilizer a bit for all and turn up the dimmer to 80 percent. I Included flower pictures this time. Happy Sunday
End of week 5 of flower (day 35). Plants are in full bloom mode. I took out all the lower leaves that were blocking bud sights during the past week. The phosphorus deficiency in Orange Velvet Underground and Runtz has to be largely related to the cool days and very cool nights in the room the past couple weeks. A couple nights likely dipped below 50 F. But it's getting warmer. Blueberry Muffin and Fluff's Travels have really taken all the extreme fluctuations in temperature and humidity well. Most are starting to show some purple coming in. Smell is gradually increasing and once temps get up it will really pick up. Happy Sunday
End of week 6 (day 42). Another tough week down. Temperatures dipped again, hopefully for the last time. Blueberry Muffin and Fluff's Travels are really tough plants. Trichomes are starting to fill in and the smell is getting stronger each day. I'm still probably feeding them too much so I'll switch to just water this coming week. Happy Sunday.
