Hey everyone.
My plan for these is to SCROG them in my 3 x 3 and do a mainly water only run. I will top feed and add a little cal-mag a couple times during the first couple weeks of flower.. that and liquid karma for the kelp.
I am using barley straw mulch with some dutch clover cover crop. Stonington Blend soil amended with rice hulls, some coco, earth worm castings, and volcanic rock dust.
I watered today and top fed with 2 tbspns of fishbone meal and earth worm castings.
These are on F1 today. These are clones from my last run. I used this Sky Lotus to make F2s, so while very successful (1.7k seeds), I didn't get to sample the herb.
And the Cherry Lotus I selected doesn't have the largest buds, but I was just attracted to it. The smell, the vigor. It foxtailed pretty bad, so I will try and keep the temps lower this run. And I can also get to see coco vs organic soil. Always fun to see a comparison of the end products.
Have a good week! 🚀🚀
F7 today.
The first couple days of flower were rough, but they put on a lot of size still.
I had a power outage, some heat issues, then the cold came. Tent was about 58-62f at night and spent a day at about 70-72f with the lights on.
The last couple days I have been able to stabilize the tent and they seem happier for it.
Fed 2 tablespoons of Fishbone meal and Earthworm castings on F1.
I saw some calcium deficiency on a couple leaves, so I fed 120-150 ppms (EC .25-.3) of cal-mag and will do another feed of cal-mag in a few days. Cal-mag plus the fish bone meal will hopefully keep the plant happy.
Added some liquid karma one watering and plan to feed it once a week until week 6ish.
Have a good week! 🚀🚀
F14.
Today I did a pretty large defoliation. I also added about 1 gallon of soil to the top of each plant plus some mixed in more fish bone meal (2.5 tablespoons) and earth worm castings. I purposely left a couple inches from the top of the pot when I transplanted them, so I can add soil now. This way those feeder roots can move up and access the fish bone meal easier. I ran out of the Stonington blend, so I used some Michigan Made (M3) soil that I picked up on sale.
I gave some cal-mag once (about 120 ppms) during the week and some kelp today. I might do another dose of cal-mag this week, we'll see how they look. I also turned the light down slightly a couple days ago. Easier to keep the tent cool and it seems like the sky lotus may have been showing some slight light stress. I'm probably running about 225-250 watts in the 3 x 3 now.
Have a good week! 🚀🚀
F21.
Looking nice and happy. Of course they are flowering much faster than from seed. I tend to flip seeds fast, before they are sexually mature.
I've been adding a little cal-mag (70-100 PPMs) and liquid karma once a week. Other than that, just tap water.
The Cherry Lotus I selected to run again is very thin leaved compared to most of the other plants I grew in that strain. The bud structure isn't as good as some of the other's I found in the pack, but it is my favorite smoke out of the initial testing.
Have a good week! 🚀🚀
F27.
Top fed some Fishbone meal (2 tablespoons per), earthworm castings, and some added more soil today. Also watered in some liquid karma for the kelp. I probably should have added some SLF-100 with the karma.. I'll do that next watering.
Looking good. From here on out it will be water only except maybe a microbe product.. Cruise control.
Thanks for stopping by and have a good week! 🚀🚀
F34. Sky Lotus left, Cherry Lotus right.
Easy week. A couple waterings, 1 feeding with some liquid karma.
Yesterday I lost power for about 45 minutes 2 hours before lights out. I left the lights off until the next morning. I feel like turning the lights off and on multiple times is more stress then just an early bedtime. No signs of intersex, but I will keep an eye out. Good stress test since this sky lotus I used to make F2's. They look happy, so it doesn't seem like the light interruption pissed them off too much.
Thanks for stopping by and have a good week! 🚀🚀
F41 today.
Lost power 8 hours today during lights on. I left the tent open hoping some sunlight might help it.
It was 62f when I took the pics and the sky lotus still has its' hands up. The Cherry lotus on the right doesn't like the cold as much it seems.
Welp I lost power for a whole day, so I lost 2 days of light. IT was about 52f for a day+, so I'll find out how much they hate me tomorrow.
Stinks I lost power again, 4th time this flower cycle. At least it will be a good stress test on the Sky lotus because this is the one I made F2's with.
Only water last week, plus 1 feeding of a little liquid karma.
Thanks for stopping by and have a good week! 🚀🚀
F48.
As I mentioned last week, I lost power for about 36 hours on F41 and F42. I lost 2 days of light plus some low temps (52f).
The Sky Lotus didn't throw any nanners, so fuck yea haha. This was the one I F2'd, so that's very positive sign.
The Cherry Lotus threw a few nanners the first couple days after the lights came back on. I haven't seen any nanners or signs of pollen after about F45.
I checked all the plants once or twice a day. I used tweezers, h2o2, and some water to remove the nanners.
I am really happy with the bud structure this run for the cherry. This plant was my favorite from the last run and the buds were very loose. It must have not liked the heat at all.
The Sky Lotus is drinking less, starting to fade, and will probably be ready by F58-63.
The Cherry Lotus still looks to be a little farther out. I will check the trichomes next week on all the plants.
Only water form here on out. I gave them some liquid karma and SLF-100 after the lights came back on. I wanted to give the soil a kick start after getting so cold and no lights for 2 days. The liquid karma has sugars, aminos, kelp, and the SLF-100 has a bunch of different goodies in it.
Thanks for stopping by and have a good week! 🚀🚀
F54 today. 2 days early. I had some time today and took some nice pics. I will update more pics here until harvest.
The Sky Lotus is drinking a lot less. The trichomes are mostly cloudy, still a decent amount of clear. I think she will be done F60-F63.
The Cherry Lotus slowed down drinking as well, but might need a few more days than the sky lotus. I will probably pull them both F63ish.
I found 1 more nanner since last week (I lost power for 2 days week 6). No nanners on the Sky lotus, so it passed the stress tests beautifully.
Note that I ran 5 cherry lotus females last grow with some heat stress and none of them went intersex or threw nanners. Definitely a stable strain, just don't lose power 4 times during flower 😁.
I fed basically only water this run. 2-3 waterings with cal-mag early flower (100-120 ppms of cal-mag) plus some liquid karma once a week until week 7 (F43). Some SLF-100 too.
Top dressed Fish bone meal, Earth-worm castings, and soil on F1, F14, F28.
Thanks for stopping by and have a good week! 🚀🚀
F61 in the pics.
I wasn't going to do another update, but I took some good pics, so why not.
The leaves look like they have a little more to give. A little amber on the cherry's today (F62) and the Sky lotus are almost all cloudy.
I am planning on harvesting them F63 or 64, I will look at the weather and see what days are easier to dry in.
I lost power again for 3 hours. 5 times this flower cycle. Luckily it was in the morning, so I opened the tent up and it got a little sun light... I haven't spotted any more pollen sacs on the cherry lotus and I haven't seen any at all on the Sky lotus.
So not only did the sky lotus stay stable through all the light interruptions, but it handled all the temp and light intensity swings as well.
Sky Lotus is kushy, some lemon.
Cherry lotus is cherry, fruity, musky.
As I mentioned in my PHK x Durban journal, once I finish these last 2 I will be done with this site and moving to a different platform. Overgrow seems much friendlier, more mature group of growers. Plus it is actually moderated.
Thanks for stopping by and have a good week! 🚀🚀
Sky Lotus V2 - (Skywalker OG x Snow Lotus):
I’ve grown 3 females from this pack. 2 of them were about 2 years ago, so I will focus on the most recent harvest.
This run; I popped half a pack, pretty sure I burnt up 3 on the seedling heat mat. I had 2 males and 1 female. I selected the male that I liked the best and made some F2s.
This report is based on the female plant I made seeds with. I made the seeds first and then ran the plant for flower.
I knew I wanted to make the F2s because my 1st run with the Sky Lotus was great and for my first pollen chuck, why not start with some of the best genetics. I plan to give some away eventually, but not until next year. I want to test them first before I start handing them out.
Substrate: 7-gallon Soil (Coast of Maine Stonington Blend) plus amendments listed in diary.
Harvest F63
Top-fed some amendments through flower.
My friend who I give almost all my grows to test said this was some of my best work (so pat myself on the back) and he really enjoyed it. So much that he plans to pop some of the F2s in the near future.
Solid plant, great smoke, good smells, frosty as heck. 8.5/10
As I mentioned before, this is my last update on this site. Catch me on OG, it's a much more welcoming and knowledgeable community.
have a good day!
