Time flies when you're having fun. I am actually later than I wanted with germination. I am attempting to start a perpetual grow. I smoke a bunch more than I realized 😋 especially as the quality of the weed increases.
Looking for some high energy Sativa leaning plants. So much to digest. These seedlings are from Neptune Seed Bank and Bred by 42M (reg). Ok, so I don't see many people talking about them, but this is my second time using Neptune seed bank. I am 100% satisfied! Orders received quickly and discreetly. I have received freebies and stickers not expected with both of my orders. Prices are equal variety is vast.
I germinated by placing in a glass of water for approx. 18 hrs. then between cotton pads misted with water placed in Ziplock's with 1/4 size hole left in zip for air. I also mist a couple of times in bag. Leave until short tails appear then into Root Riot cubes surrounded by ex. clay. Oh, I put in sunny bay window for several days until they open up and set leaves. Then to the new seed home for a week or 2 then to the Veg room. ( gotta make up mind on light... quickly). At least that's the plan. Note: like anything else there seems to be an optimal level with the moisture. For me, at least, I start out with a pretty moist setup.
For whatever it's worth, all strains in this run included, some seeds sank some seeds floated, some were large, and some were tiny but all seeds from all companies germinated. I did have to soak 2 seeds for an additional 8 - 10 hrs. and then they developed tails.
These 2 skyrocketed especially one. Bro. Science will tell you that it will be a male. I'm not sold. Doesn't really matter... I want to collect some pollen for down the road.😼😎😼
Up and growing. A little leggy but off to a good start. Whoa...haven't bought a light yet. I have decided though. Medic Grow EZ 8. With a little luck it will be in and set up within a week. I would like to get all of the girls into their final homes.
Just finishing new flower room. I should have enough space for at least 8 plants. At least for now, I like being able to move around on all sides of the plants.
Gonna try the hands-off approach again. Especially during seedling and early veg. I don't know if this is optimal, but it is working for me now. Hands off for now being no nutrients and no "hot" soil until transplant into final homes whether it be soil or Hydro.
I have used dechlorinated ph'd tap water (to 6.8 @ 250ppm out of tap only). Just enough to keep the Root Riot and expanded clay moist. I am using a DIY light that currently produces around 80w.
Grow girls 👧 💕 grow.
A tad leggy still. Maybe my DIY light is weaker than I thought. Maybe the Sativa in them. I'll take care of this in a few days when I get light and move to final pots. I want them in now.
Just ph 💧 water, light and love.
Stems are straightening up and getting stronger.
See how these quick growers sex up. I do need some pollen.
So far so good. I get so very nervous during this stage. Really, I stay on edge all the time. They are sort of tender now. So, I try to handle with care. Actually, I just make myself leave them alone. It's been said that the plant has enough natural nutrients to fed it for the first 3 - 4 weeks. That could be debatable if you were trying to achieve a "perfect" grow but I have better luck if I just give the plants water and light for the first 3-4 weeks. Now that said. Mine are a little pale and they want some nutrients.
I transferred all the seedlings to their final home. These two plants have gone transitioned into "homemade" soil, 1.5 and 3-gallon buckets. I have no idea about the NPK or Ph of my soil (I know) but I plan on stabilizing with feedings. The soil composition is mainly coco, perlite and very little humus and "homemade" soil so I should be Ok... I hope?
THESE ARE REGULAR SEEDS
Anywho, I am just watering around the root riot cube and the cube itself. Very little water. No need to get all that unknown soil in the game yet. Micro doses are my plan. Oh, I sprinkled some mycorrhizae in the area where I transplanted. In the Hydro, I have added Hydrogaurd and very very little cal-mag.
They are in my New 6x6 Flower Room where they will Veg and flower under the Medic Grow EZ-8 1000w light. After this grow I hope to use this room just to flower perpetual grows.
DIY SETUP (approximately 18 gals, don't know yet) for HYDRO
-Lowes 5-gallon buckets. +/-
-2" PVC under
-Vivosun air pump under
-vivosun water pump under
-Big air stones and hose under
- I used a garbage can for my reservoir
-uni-seals for bulkheads under
Light and reflective film and that is it.
Haven't had time to experiment with light yet as far as distances and power. It has % dimmer switch and I don't have it on 100%. I just got everything set up. So for the next couple of days, I will try to keep PPFD around 500. ANYBODY have any thoughts?
In about a week I will begin giving full line of nutrients.
No idea about this strain. First time growing it. These 2 plants were quick out of the gate with some leggy stems. They have straightened and firmed up and should respond well to the micro doses of Nutrients. The ugly leaves are not a concern right now because I am relatively sure that the deficiencies that I see are from germination, transplanting and them wanting Nutrients before I wanted to let them have em.
Just lotus nutrients and just their cal-mag right now. I hope the soil will provide others for a short while. I will add some grow near the end of the week.
Looking at the emerging leaves they are smooth, consistent healthy green color and are showing some vigorous growth. I hope to leave ugly behind.
Heat is going to be an issue with this grow if I don't address it very shortly. I think I am going to try a window unit located in this room and vented under the house to a crawlspace. This might solve both temp and humidity issues associated with my region. It may actually give me a considerable amount of environmental control over this room (flower) and adjacent room (Veg).
These are some "strangy" girls/guys. I forget they are Reg seeds. I would like one to be a girl, but I am looking for some pollen also. Plus, I have too many plants. At least I do right now.
I am slowly increasing PPM. Watering when needed. Not exactly spot on with Nutrients but plants look fairly good. I am just sort of Micro dosing until, hopefully, everything comes together.
I installed a small window A/C, In this (flower) room. It also has the effect of cooling the adjacent Veg room if needed. It also helps with the humidity. However, this is an old unit, and it is not that efficient. I hope to get a new, slightly larger one when I can afford it.
Just some light leaf picking. Just the big fans and not always the bottom up. I leave when I can and they are healthy. I tuck, and cut when they really block out tons of light. I judge by hoe the leaves look under them or if they block bud sites.
Increased ppm. I am enjoying the Medic Grow 1000 watt light.
I am embarrassed to say I have checked the sex yet on these or the other regular seeds which are the Droppin Dat Ass plants. I guess I will try and do that this week.
Probably going to flower in about 2 weeks. The room is going to be very full if everything goes as planned. Oh, topped both these plants a day or so ago.
Very light defoliation. Just the big leaves. Still gaining some color. I bumped the ppm up hoping to get them strong going into flower.
Lazy, Lazy, Haven't really sexed these yet. No blatant signs yet. I guess I'm not really into the gender reveal thing.
Most likely going to flower in a week.
Grow room conditions have been improving. A/C will be turned off if I can.
Finally, time to turn them loose. I hope I get one female. I still haven't looked close but so far, at glance, it looks promising. Males will be removed from tent, flowered and some of the pollen saved.
I added some additional Bloom Nutrient which bumped the ppm up slightly. I am watering as needed, each pot, every pheno is slightly different. I don't micromanage but I do address specific needs from time to time. These cultivars drink a bunch of water and enjoy a fair amount of nitrogen.
I will see if I can keep them healthy until harvest. My fingers are crossed. Just picked one or 2 leaves.
Oh... I am going to attempt to turn the light up to 100 %. I am unfamiliar with this light and don't want to stress everyone out. I just want to maximize the flower stage. I need to look at the par map examples again.
Small amount of pruning and leaf picking. Nothing major.
Wow... stretch babies stretch. This girl is growing up. She's happy. Finally sexed. One male and one female. Male has been removed and some pollen will be collected.
Very weak concentration of Neem oil for one last pest prevention measure. I do get spider mites from time to time.
Starting to show some flower and a little weed smell when you rub the stem.
Upped the ppm just a bit. I think around 11 to 1200 ppm is about as high as I will go. Both plants have nice color. Just trying to keep them happy.
Getting ready to plant again. Probably by the middle of April.
I got a girl from the 2 freebies after all. This one was mistaken for a male early on. Ok... I know there are way to sex plants from germination on. I know it's not hard. Noting tricky about this plant, I'm just lazy and fortunate to have the space, so thats why it has taken so long.
Stretchy plant, and has become leggier with the stretch period. I think she is about done though. A lot of this could be caused by me moving her and basically re-vegging for about 4 days. She looks and seems healthy so I will just keep on keeping on.
No smell that I can tell. But the tent is full.
Watering when she needs it. Just about everyday right now. Reminder... feed her male counterpart.
I don't believe any more defoliation, to speak of, will be needed. Come on girl... get your groove on.
Sort of a lazy week, for once, in the tent. Just watching the girls develop. Chunking up nicely.
The plant that I thought was a male and went to death row, either this one or the Droppin dat Ass came back with Spider mites. I think I have them beat back and no major damage was done. As in real life, some plants were not affected at all and then they loved some of the plants.
Pretty much everything stayed the same.
I removed a few leaves.
Not much to report. She is still nice and green. Not any fade so far. Beginning to see some nice trichomes developing. Not much smell. I hope she gets dank. I started with HIGH expectations of this flavor; I hope she shows me something.
I plucked a few leaves the rest will come off naturally.
Thirsty girl... she drinks quite a bit and shows no signs of slowing down.
I am just going to continue forward and ease them closer to harvest.
Actually, smells like faint Fruity Pebbles. This one, at least for me, smells like its name. Super cool. Note: last run of Runtz smells like Fruity Pebbles also.
This young lady's best friend (Droppin Dat Ass) tried to get her in trouble by throwing some Spider Mite funk on her. As with the other plant I think she is clean.
Some furry, full, pistols forming up nicely. Some are plump and look juicy. Really, they look like they have juice in them.
Some slight Fruity Pebble smell. Overall, nice healthy-looking plant. I think so. Or should I say... I have seen and grown much worse.
Oh, did I mention that I... yes me and my continuing battle with valves flooded the basement where I grow. I figured somewhere in the neighborhood of around 200 gallons.😖 I surrender. 😵 Man... my dumb stoned ass can't remember to turn the reservoir fill valve off to either one of my systems. Maybe one day.
I may have mentioned this before, but it has occurred to me, thru much experience, that valves are much like women. Most are not very difficult to operate and figure out but don't ever make the mistake of fucking with more than one at a time. TRUST THIS OLD GOAT (OG) IF YOU DO... YOU ARE JUST BEGGING FOR TROUBLE.
Totally in the dark with this plant. She is pretty healthy, beginning to make some sticky, and has a faint fragrance of Fred and Barneys arm pits and the ceral. Showing some color change.
I hope her buds dense up. Nothing too spectacular to mention. But she still has some time. Grow baby grow!
Just taking some leaves that are dying or covering some flower. Really just letting the plant take the reins at this point.
Thanks for stopping by. Any ideas or thoughts are appreciated.
Suprise me baby! Not knowing anything about this baby. Starting to give off some fruity smell and build some frost.
Slowing on Nutes, she still is drinking quite a bit. No signs of bugs, but she did have them thanx to her friend. All in all she seems healthy, and I will try to get her home. Not really familiar with Sativa's and how they form or finish. Looking forward to finding out.
Thanks for checking me out. Any tips, suggestions or critiques always appreciated.
Some real rock-solid tops. The sites under the tips are also producing some nice nugs. I am taken aback by how heavy and solid they are becoming.
A little more smell, actually does smell like Fruity Pebbles, not getting much Lemon. All, in all, this has turned into a pretty neat plant.
Decreasing nutrients, like with everything else. This girl has been the thirstiest of the tent. She is still drinking quite a bit. Nice color in the leaves, all my stuff turns yellow. Is this me? or is this the predominate color for most plants when they finish?
Thanks for dropping by. I hope these girls are done soon. It will be a complete mystery to me. Any hints, tips, comments are always appreciated. Peace!
Plant of the iron fists.... Wow, this girl has seen it all during this grow. Now some spider mites on two buds that were closest to her nasty friend.
Bud development has been unique with primary development being on the top couple of buds on each branch. After that, the size and denseness drops off drastically as you go down the branch. To be expected, I have just never seen it to this extent.
Not tons of smell, but what is there is fruity pebbles. Berry. Again, these tips are solid. I will harvest in about 10 days.
Just running 350ppm de-chlorinated tap water as needed.
Thanks for the view... Any ideas or suggestions are always appreciated. Peace. 🙏
Really close.... Just putting off a few more days.
This girls has really put on some weight theses past few weeks. Tops are very heavy.
Interested to sample. I wish she would not have contracted mites these last days, I may have seen some great looking purples and browns. None the less. She has turned out nice.
Thanx for looking at my grass. Any grow tips are always appreciated. Peace !
