The beginning of week four is looking good, and the two healthy ladies have bounced back from the small number of clones that I took. As always, the sativa'ish lady threatens to fill the SCROG herself, but her node growth is perfect for this particular netting. It just so happens that as each new node forms fills two slots quite nicely, while the main shoot gets pushed into another slot. I've got some vertical growth to work with before I reach my limit, but I think I'm going to have to continue to tuck into week two of flowering. Her lower growth with regards to new shoots have been removed but being that she isn't heavy on leaves I decided to leave them all intact. The next healthy lady has tight internodes and it's going to suck to remove the lower nodes, however this too shall pass. She is finally emerging through the screen after working on her roots and recovering from four clones being taken. Other than that, once she fills the net a little more, I will defoliate a little and possibly lollipop her. If she can give up four branches as clones and continue growing, I think she's ready but only time will tell. My last lady, no idea what's going on, she won't wilt, she won't show visible growth and her leaves are starting to lose that dark green color. Her runoff is 6.8 @ 1200ppm so she's not out of range and or overloaded on nutrients. The only think I can think of as there were zero issues transplanting any of these ladies, would have to be the filler soil I used to up pot her. If there is no visible change in a week when I get ready to flip, ill likely cut a square hole in the SCROG and allow her to stretch naturally so as not to limit growth any further. This will a little LST should result in something manageable. Out of the six clones that we're taken, both sativa variants have resumed growth and or at the very least, they have re-oriented themselves to the light and look strong. Two of the indica variant have also oriented themselves, but none have shown signs of roots protruding yet. Finally, the last two still appear somewhat wilted, but I'm confident that my super high tech cloning bin, with saran wrap technology will deliver results. In closing, time is against me as the net fills, my only option is to direct all new growth to the opposite side of the net and try to compensate. I would prefer to have more developed roots, and a much thicker main stalk but its worlds better than my last grow which resulted in roughly 6oz of dispensary bud.

Hello, I need to solve a feeding issue, my lady is in transition and very well into veg; Her medium is noticeably dry in 48 hours and requires roughly a gallon and a half of water to feed. How can I feed daily, the ppm's are low @ around 530 since she's thirsty? Thank you!.

you should always irrigate until entire volume is saturated, wait for top 1" to dry and repeat... how often and how concentrated your fetilizer is depends on multiple factors.. primarily how often you fertilize vs water-only. if the drinking of the plant warrants daily irrigations, do it... do you have to wait for top 1" to dry? not really, but you may get some algea and increase risk to something actually harmful with a constantly wet substrate. Some minimum loss of water-mass should occur before re-irrigating. your drainage qualities of substrate, the size of the plant and the size of the pot will dictate whether or not it is feasible. you only hve 20% perlite+vermiculite, so your drainage qualiteis are not optimal for such a method of irrigation. Wait until the pot loses at least half of its weight when recently watered. this will be well before 1" is dry up top, if you want to try pushing it. evaporation occurs at a fairly slow rate - surface to volume ratio limits exposure to some extent to atmosphere. in a matter of 2-3 even 5 days evaporation should not cause a problem whatsoever. look to other causes and other ways to manipulate the results you want. if you want to feed daily, go soilless. buy 100% soluble and chelated 'hydro' nutes.. improve drainage quality with 50/50 sphagnum peat to perlite or 70/30 coco to perlite (vermiculite is also a valid option as are other things) large chunks of anything or 'logs' (sticks and shit) are not a good thing to have. some fibrous material is good.. you want fluffy and airy. you need the right sized pot and plant for this to work smoothly.. when they are drinking fast enough you can do 2-3 fertigations a day if you want... or if the dynamics only allow 1/day stick to that... think some sources recommend a 25-33% "dryback" which really means loss of water weight, preferably the vast majority from the plant drinking vs evaporation.

@Sharkyd, Thank you!!, It's kind of a Zen thing, being able to direct growth and see how she is doing every day makes it worth it. I am just happy that they are doing well with the stress of screen. Took a peek at your journal, nice explosive growth you appear to be in full development and that recovery time after defoliation, great job!
