I started 3 seeds in a glass of water with hydrogen peroxide added. All three popped and was set in a soil mix that I make. Presoaked the soil so moisture content was where I like it. I moved all three into an empty old freezer that I have and started with my grow light. I am keeping the temperature around 70 degree F 12 hours of light per day to start. My plan is to transfer to inground for an outside grew cycle. Winter keeps hanging on, so inside for the first few weeks of life. I do have a small greenhouse that will be the second stage before going all outdoors, but still a little to cold to go there.

I started all my seeds in an old freezer with a grow light. Kept @ 68 to 78 with a 12/12 timer. After one week I moved all girls to the greenhouse. Probably less light hours this way, but sunlight makes a huge difference in growth. The temperatures are going to swing, just because the weather is crazy. I have pictures of some other breeds that I started the same day as the Blackberry. Those seeds are just a lot slower to pop out and get started. Fast Buds 420 are very reliable breeds. See where we go from here.

Second week in the greenhouse. The weather is either 80 F for a day or two , then back to the 50's and near freezing at night. A rollercoaster in temperature changes, except no rain. Fire hazards and dust warnings every week. Outdoors is going to be a challenge. I did repot into bigger containers using worm castings and mycobliss. These girls more than doubled in just a few days. I am watering once a week.

Week three, in the ground hardening in the elements. Growing in severe drought conditions is a challenge, but having a dog who wants to eat the tops off my plants is another challenge. He's only done it this once and while I am working in the garden, other than that he leaves them alone. So one plant is super cropped, thanks to my dog. The other two are left alone so far. I will be doing some LST on two of them. The purple colors are already beginning to show in the stems and leaves, the plants are building a solid stem base. I think most of that is from the genetics and hardening in the windy conditions I have here. I'm watering twice a week just to keep the soil from drying out. I'm excited to see these girls develop and produce some awesome colors. I love purple weed.

Back into containers and in the greenhouse. Had a large hail storm that beat the heck out my girls killed. No rain though, not until today, but very lite. Starting preflower stage. Cooler temps now as well. Last week upper 70's to 80', now back into the 50's to 60's all week. Roller coaster Spring time weather, go to love it. Nice shades of purple coming through, I like it.

LST one, the other is just surviving the dog and hail storm. The colors are amazing. My wife found them in the greenhouse last Sunday afternoon, she likes it a lot. They are stretching now like a kid hitting puberty. May will be a good month for growth. Longer sunny days. I'm keeping them in the greenhouse for a while. The drought is severe and the ground isn't holding moisture. I can control moisture and humidity in the greenhouse for now, and dog access. I don't why he only wants to eat my weed plants. I did start a new seed this week of the same strain. She's a new baby girl in a bigger pot.

Went from 60 to 90's. First day with humidity....come on rain, give it to me. Leaving the greenhouse wide open so not to overheat. Set the damaged plant in a chained hanging basket to allow sun absorption all day and keep her off the ground for now. The weather is changing into serious growing mode and they love it. Stems are bulking up and holding well against whatever the weather Gods can throw at them. They are adapting to LST very well.

A little rain, a little sun, and cooler temperatures, all good for growing. Completely outside at this point. Greenhouse is getting too hot and outside I can rotate plants with the sun to get maximum sunlight. The aromas are dreamy. The colors are beautiful. I have a new girl that is eleven days old now, She looks great. Raining again today, then sun for the next five days with milder temperatures. A smoke watch is in the forecast for today due to fires in Canada? Any Canadian growers know anything about this? I'm halfway from Canada to Mexico. Seems like a long ways for smoke to carry. Then again I've seen smoke from forest fires, but usually late in the year.
