March 13. Began seeds. Soaked paper towel in pH6.0 water. Squeezed most of the water out. Began two Exotic Seeds Blue Monkey seeds. Also two bag seeds. Put plastic wrap over seeds and paper towel, rolled the towel and plastic up, and placed in a quart sized mason jar on the top shelf of a closet.
Feels like we need a "seedling" week. I feel like this should be under germination not vegetation. Just moved seed to soil. Will let the seedling get strong before moving it to clay for hydroponics. This is where I tend to kill my plants. I either over water or underwater.
Day 26- realized I had the lighting schedule wrong and switched to 18/6. Also upgraded air stone from that blue stick to a 5” diameter circle.
This should really be noted as day 1 and first week of veg.
Day - began alternating between Mars Hydro and HLG
Day 32 - Thinking of beginning some LST. Struggling to maintain temperature. Have been as low as 62°F and as high as 85°F. Pretty stabilized at this point at 77°F. Humidity has been bouncing between 48%r.h. And 90% but has stabilized around 85%. Trying to keep it between 75-85%r.h. Switched from MarsHydro lighting to HLG lighting (the heat source) but man does the plant ever love those HLGs! Plant is roughly 24” from the light and the plant is 5” tall.
Day 35 - began low stress training. Removed bottom two yellowed leaves. Everything else is looking great.
Flipped to 12-12 on lights. I know I should have defoliated first. Began removing fan leaves around the base. Found the a few leaves with brown spots but I figure I got lazy on my feeding and they were just hungry. Squashed the canopy down as I’d been ignoring it and began working on a uniform scrog.
On the May 15 pictures, I took them under the HLG lighting. The color is off on the closeup of the leaves with the spots because I was using a Sofirn flashlight at the same time.
May 17 Turned off the HLGs for photos.
