For all beginners - don't over water or over feed your plant. 99% of new growers do one of these two things. Check the recommended dosage on the nutrient label and start with half of that amount and build up.
For you specifically - use your location to your advantage and grow outdoors. Your main enemies will be torrential rain and high humidity, especially during flower, so it's possible to bring them indoors at that point and use a grow light later on if needed - air con sucks all the humidity out the room which is helpful.
If you're worried about privacy, just make a big fleece cloche to go around it, or hang shade netting around it.
I used to live in Thailand (pre-legality) and the weather was perfect for growing in a bucket on your balcony so that it's protected from rain. I never had any issues with pests in my time, but keep an eye out for any critters that might take a liking to it. Mine used to attract praying mantis, but I tolerated them because they eat flies and such lol.
Good luck and enjoy!
