This is my second grown, but first grow using synthetic nutrients. First grow was a complete failure, let's see how this one does.
This strain seeds are a bonus pack sent by Coastal Mary.
The goal is to use cheap nutrients once the current one finishes (NPK Industries). Didn't take note of the strength, just EC.
Excited about the journey! Let's go!
I made a timelapse that failed and didn't take any pictures. She also grew very slowly for that period of time.
For the weeks that passed, the plant wasn't too happy and I figured it was the environment, so I took them to the tent.
You'll notice the green coming back for the next weeks.
Changed the picture temperature so that's why the last picture is greener. Wanted a better representation of color.
I think the plants are happier than they were, but still kind of deficient. EC is coming out too high.
Topping. DLI 33.
Flushed and started transitioning solution to flower. Feels like I finally understood how the environment interacts with nutrient strength.
Plants have more air circulation and no longer too moist at night time. Plants have more light and increased temperatures. DLI 44.
Plants seem very happy with the new environment care and now feeding early morning as well.
Runoff EC seems to be decreasing. Weak and nice smell. Removed some lower bud sites.
She definitely has nutrient deficiencies but I can't say if it's my fertigation frequency, if my coco was unbuffered or the container size. I'll keep going as is.
Excited about the flowers, any moment now! I'm especially excited about this moment because last time (and my first time) I didn't have a tent when the process begun. So I would see just small flowers forming and it never really fully bloomed. The only time it bloomed was after re-vegging it 4 months later, very small flowers again. That plant lived 10 months and yielded 10g. :D
24/03: added kelp meal, microbes, molasses, humic acid and silica. some leaves could be suffering from wind stress so I dialed down the fan in the tent and switched position. Went from 1.7 to 1.55 EC in nutrient concentration.
25/03: she's flowering! next week is gonna be first flower diary entry. older leaves slowly curl down, slightly yellow and die, I suspect is a mix of year-old coir that I haven't buffered (it was Canna), plus being in a 1gal pot. If it becomes a huge problem I might have to up pot. but really won't if all I'm losing is one or two leaves a week.
27/03: She's alright. Added more mycorrhizae as I realized I never gave her enough.
29/03: Healthiest plant in the tent, but still some PH issues I think. PH pen arrives today and I'm going up to 6.0.
31/03: A bit more magnesium.
01/04: Flushed, defoliated and lowered EC.
04/04: Starting off week 11! PPM of runoff is already a lot higher than the inflow. Starting flower solution. Monitoring. There will be a kelp tea foliar and feed tomorrow, and gonna lower EC once again.
06-08/04: Still stretching and creating more buds. Excited for the fattening, starting next week. She's coming along nicely, not losing any leaves.
Runoff EC seems to be increasing, not sure if she is eating less or just drinking too much during lights off, as she does wake up thirsty. Maybe both.. Looks like I'm one week off harvest judging by the trichomes. Happy with this plant, shame that I had to tone down the light intensity and schedule.
