Hello everyone!
This diary has been inspired by deFharos (https://growdiaries.com/grower/defharo) ORGANIC grows which he shares in his diaries. I always wanted to try to DIY my own ORGANIC nutrients and mimic THE NATURE!
If you would like to know more about HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN FERTILIZERS and GROW ORGANICALLY then have a look at his diary here

This time I want to share my practical Experimental Organics following deFharos BAL collecting recipe BUT before I do that I would like to share some useful information about Lactobacillus bacteria and benefits using them for soil and plants ( and particularly for cannabis)
BAL (Lactic Acid bacteria)
- increases lacto fermentation (More information: https://growdiaries.com/diaries/134104-grow-journal-by-defharo/week/747667)
- regulates soil organic matter (decompose organic matter and protein mainly and neutralize ammonia gas produced where the immature compost is applied)
- detoxify hazardous chemicals, and enhance plant health
- increases the solubility of fertilizer (LAB solubilizes phosphate - Using LAB in phosphate-accumulated soil will increase its capacity to absorb the insoluble form of phosphates and help overcome the saline disorder as a result of decomposition of the phosphates)
- can directly promote plant growth or seed germination, as well as alleviating various stresses
- boosts potency, terpenes and yield in cannabis plants
There are plenty of sources and discussions about using BAL in soil and different plants depends on their needs
NOW ...
There is a full and complete deFharos recipe:
I start with two liters of water and 700g of brown rice.
The best thing is to keep it close to a heat source, for example near the refrigerator engine, in case it's cold to leave it for 48 hours.
After keeping the water in rice for 24 hours, I separate it and get 1.2L of liquid.
Add 150g of rice or wheat bran (sugars...) for another 24 hours.
To the resulting liquid I add twice as much natural or pasteurized milk, let it curdle, then separate it.
Finally to store it: I add twice as much of the resulting liquid, of water with molasses and store it in the refrigerator.
To use it: 20ml in a liter of water with molasses, wait 24 hours, with this liter it would give you 100L of water.
Following this recipe with a little tweaking of proportions (I dont need that much at the moment as I am only practicing) I got final BAL (Lactic Acid Bacteria) product which smells divine like freshly cooked/baked fruity cake! Also, I did standard BAL collection following Chriss Trumps video and its smells more cheesy and sour which is good indication too.
Again, I would like to THANK deFharo for his patience and time to answer my questions!
P.S. All pictures has a short descriptions on what I did. Any questions/suggestions are WELCOME!!!
PP.S. Next EXPERIMENT is to make BOCASHI bran using BAL !!!
@@SPRAMOAH,je vais faire pareil pour ma prochaine session j ai préparer un living soil maison avec de bonnes choses de la forêt du compost maison … j attends avec impatience le résultat 🧤bonne chance copain
@deFharo, Thanks for reminding. Yes, I pressed the mixture as hard as I can. The jar is very tight and I wrapped it with cling film so it's airtight. I will check result after 30 days and check smell accordingly to your post - The final smell is very pleasant, reminiscent of a fruit cake or fermented bakery sweets.
@Hydro_Hiebs, Thanks! Yeah, there are beautiful rain forests around. No need to be a photo shot master or have a good camera as Nature looks perfect anyway! My phone is old and yeat pictures are very colorful!
Interesting, I am about to germinate 30 autos of Orange bud and Moby Dick from an unknown grower, and will try to grow them outside on budget. This sure will be a great addition to some DIY fertilizers. 100L seems a bit much, will do half and see how it goes. So you just add these to every feed? Need to read some more about budget homemade stuff like this. I'll keep my eye on your diaries. Good luck bud
@DeusArx,
Also, I would recommend to read about KNF (Korean Natural Farming) as it fits perfectly for outdoor grows. Google KNF cannabis feeding schedule and it will bring you tons of info indoor/outdoor with pics and recipes.
@DeusArx,
Thanks mate!At the moment I am using it at my flowers in garden and they loves it. I mix 10ml per litre and watering every three days and same feeding schedule apply to my medicine soon. However, each strain is different so best option to go for - less is more. Best grower to ask about watering schedule is deFharo growdiaries.com/grower/defharo
He got plenty diaries with autos too.
All the best with your outdoor grow. Seems like you have a decent plot for all these seeds.
@smallville, Thanks. Bro! I think I missed this season as I am not ready to pay bills for winter grow. Spring is my time though manahe to make as many ferts as poss. Cheers.
