I bought this plant from a stall at the side of the road B50/£1 My plan is to "practice" with this plant before the other plants reach this stage. I have had the plant for less than 1 week. I have repotted the plant from a plastic pint pot where it had been root bound. I have no idea how old the plant is and have guessed at the age for reference purposes. I think I have been over watering so I have knocked that back. I'll see how that goes over the next week. Just received delivery of nutrients from Siam Sativa, so I will begin that regime and see how that goes over the next week. A plant app that I was trying out suggested an area with more light so I have relocated all the plants and see how that goes over the next week. Soil metre on the way so hopefully that will remove some of the guesswork. Can't help but get the feeling I'm making a lot of mistakes

Plant looks better than last week, I think I'm on the right track now however the plant is being grown outside and tropical storms are in the air because of the heat because of the height of this plant it is now getting blown around a lot. It's not grown much taller either although as mentioned previously the leaf colour looks much better this week. I'm going to repot it and ask advice about a stake.

Grow Questions

I live in Thailand, it's very hot a the moment so we are prone to tropical storms. When this happens it's very windy. I am concerned this will cause damage to the stem of the plant/s. Is it advisable to use a stake to support the plant stem, or will the plant just deal with it?

You should stake ot. In future you may want to top it, and get the plant to stay lower to the ground with more branches in a bush structure.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to answer my question. I decided to support the stem with split cane. I also built a frame/ trellis that hopefully the plant will grow into and begin to support itself better. Generally though the plant has not grown and the leaves midway up the plant are beginning to yellow, I'm not sure this plant is super healthy I repotted it last week so maybe this is contributing, so I'll give it another week to see if things improve

The plant has looked a little rough over the week, I think I have fallen into the trap of over watering again - Its very hot and sunny here just now. I have knocked that back and the plant now looks better

There is some discolouration of the leaves that I am attributing to the really hot weather we are having at the moment. Other than that there seems little development with the plant it's not flowering as rapidly as the others nor is it growing
