Hi buddy this is a very long topic so I will try and keep it short you can ask every grower this question and get a different answer so here's mine. Harvesting bud is the most important part of growing and if not done correctly it can waste all the hard work you have done so knowing when to harvest correctly is king in cannabis cultivation. So Many growers will say go out and get a jewlers loop or some kind of microscope and zoom into them shiny trichomes when you have a good view of them first of all you want too look at the size of the trichomes are they large and have large fat heads or are they small and have small heads next you need to look at the concentration of trichomes how many are there are there more in this part of the bud than the next could you wait longer and develop more trichomes ? the next thing to look at is the color of the trikes ? are then clear amber or cloudy personally i like to see a bit of amber before i crop so i know my bud has reached peak maturity. With the trikes out the ways lets move on to the more visual signs of harvesting a plant. keep in mind the longer you flower a plant the larger it will become and denser this is because the plant is trying so hard to become big and strong in order to attract male pollen and carry on its breed. This is also the same for trichomes. okay so the hairs or pistils are a huge give away I will never even think about harvesting unless the pistils have gone brown and retracted into the bud like your plant here but the final thing to consider when harvesting is kinda comment sense. Does the plant smell ready to be harvested ? you have smoked weed before you know the scent of a nice stinky bud does your plant smell like this if so then shes probably ready if you tick all these boxes i can guarantee you will get some really nice bud at the end :) best of luck buddy but the longer you leave it the more you will get but just not too long as she will mate herself eventually :)
