I like to float the seed for a maximum of 24 hours. They will usually crack open before then. Quickest I've had one crack open is 6 hours. Once I see the seed has cracked open, I plant directly into medium (coco coir/perlite) temps are ~70°F and she has a dome over her.
I am using reused coco mix. Alot of roots were left behind. This shouldn't create any issues. At least, it hasn't in the past. I probably should have rinsed and buffered. 🤔 I've gotten away without it before. 🤞🤞🤞
She's up a day later than beans normally pop up, but she is alive, nonetheless! Tomorrow will be day 1! 😊
Beginning of week:
Today, a star is born! I gave her a half dose of CALiMAGic and a full dose of MYCO+. Since the coco was not rebuffered, I figured I'd get a head start on the CalMag. Also, adding in Hydroguard. Still have the bottle I planned on using for DWC but never got around to it. Just want to get it all used up so it's not a complete waste. I believe the addition of the Myco and Hydroguard to the mix is really growing some impressive roots. My last plant (not posted on GD 😔) had a massive root ball. Not even sure how all of them fit inside the 5 gallon pot 😂. The light is set to give her ~250 PPFD for this week. She'll be a beast in no time! 💪
Mid week:
She seems to be growing ok so far. A little slow, in my opinion.. but still gonna roll with it. Hoping to get some LST started by week 3 and hoping she will get a nice healthy veg for at least 5 weeks or so. Usually, at this point, if I feed, water, feed, water, etc. I get salt build ups.. so I gave her that light feeding at the beginning of the week and just going to water a couple (maybe even 3 times) before feeding again. With the fan going, I'm getting some pretty quick dry back time. I've had issues of overwatering in the past, not happening with this one. Besides that one leaf that is dying off, I plan on this being a stress-free run! Just watering with about 3/4 of a Liter this week. Also trying to fight hydrophobia with the medium.. but slowly watering outward should help it all sync together (or leach). RH is staying around 60%.. 65F - 73F temps.. everything is going pretty smoothly. Should be a nice run. 👍
Beginning of week:
So far so good. She seems to be growing well for her age. Could be a little quicker, even germination took a day longer than my beans usually take. But this is ETHOS.. she should not disappoint. Gave her a feeding this morning. Haven't bumped up the PPFD yet, should be still at ~250 PPFD.
Mid week:
She is doing well. Medium has been drying out a bit quicker than I expected, but that's due to my small oscillating tower fan being on high. I will proceed to feed, water, water, feed untill I can finally water the entire pot. Then, feed, water, feed, water.. Haven't been able to get any runoff yet. She looks good so far. Small, but growing.
Beginning of week:
She's doing great. I hate not being able to water till runoff. But once I'm able to, I'll test the runoff and see what's been going on in there. Still keeping a fan on the media as much as possible. Watering 3x per week with feed, water, water.
Mid week:
She's doing great. Still havent been able to get runoff. May try one or so next week.
Beginning of week:
Still doing great. Growth is picking up, not quite the growth spurt, but she's getting there. Gonna toss in a little FloraBloom into the mix and up the Silica. Preflower has begun. Not just a calyx but pistils also. She's still a bit short but I am bending her top down by hand and tucking it under a leaf. Just want the apical dominance to spread to the other tops as soon as possible since preflower has started. Also removed the very bottom node and leaves, it wasnt doing much. I know it can grow a bit if left there, but meh.
Mid week:
She's doing great. Watered with a full gallon today (no nutes) and the runoff came out decent. I think pH was like 5.9 or so. Shouldn't be too difficult to get it to 6.2. Althought 5.9 would still be ok, 6.2 seems to be the magic number for calcium and I believe a couple other nutrients. Went ahead and got a little bit of a head start on LST. We'll see how quickly she branches out.
Beginning of week:
Wow! She branched out pretty nicely. I've already began tying down the side branches. A couple that are still below the canopy level, but since she is opened up, they will develop nicely. They were the branches that were coming out of the bottom of the main stem after LST. Went ahead and gave her a feeding, which was a bit too high in PPMs, but she'll be fine. She will get a nice rinse when the medium dries a bit more. But she is doing great. No issues that I've notice. I've got the light set to give her a good 600 PPFD now.
Beginning of week:
I haven't been keeping up here. Sorry. This is her this morning. I'm seeing some amber trichomes so time to start flushing. Might flush for 2 week, but the mature trichomes kinda say just 1 week. We will see how they look at the end of this week. Smells more like lemons and actual lemons. Absolutely gorgeous colors all around.
Another week of flushing. I have been using FloraKleen every other watering. So far, Ive got the runoff down to 100PPM. I've also been watering with cold water right before lights out. I believe that has helped alot of the color come out. This will be her last week. Maybe a few extra days to find the best personal time to harvest. So lemony. Love this plant.
Some pics are with lights on and some are with lights off to hopefully get the best idea of how colorful she really is. The pictures dont do enough justice. Trichomes are just gleaming too much. Ethos strains are always top notch
