I threw away all the coco coir I had and decided to go DWC and soil simultaneously. Probably would only run soil a couple of times and then stick to some sort of hydroponics later. I have a relatively small grow cabinet and I don't like pests. The setup I had was way too dirty with as little maintenance as I am capable of
Soil is canna bio terra, I had some perlite lying around and decided to mix some in. Maybe it's even less than 10% tbh. Some.
Still on water only. The plan is to use only stuff provided by RQS - I have their booster and something else. All seem good now, nothing special, humidity seems a bit low for vegetation but oh what can I do except put more plants in the growing area?
Lowered the light a little bit and started giving grow booster tablets from the combo booster pack
She's starting to flower!
No idea why she's so fast, could be 16/8 or just genetics.
Bent the stem a bit to spread the branches and form a flat canopy, started watering with bloom booster from RQS. All seem fine. I would probably skip nutrients next time though since it looks like the tips of the leaves are a bit burnt
Bent the main stem once again, now she's scorched as a hunchbacked old woman. Two of the lower side branches became the longest and stuck out in the direction of the middle lamp so I rotated the pot putting them in the corner. Bad branches.
Bad autoexposure here too.
Flushed at the end of the week, TDS was about 5k (5000, KARL!) ppm LOL. That explains burnt tips (and not only tips)
PH was about 5.6 though. I don't want to state the PH in the env section since I'm not measuring it regularly.
The rest seems relatively ok though, considering this is like my second grow in soil and the first one wasn't successful hehe
I plucked some burned leaves, watered a few days with plain water, and a few days with the bloom booster again. I have a second plant, which is like 2 weeks behind of another one, while the germination difference was about 3-4 days. Weird
Plain water all the time, and stigmas are all orange. Checking trichomes and maybe cutting tomorrow morning. This phenotype seems to be super fast, her sister doesn't look as ready as this one
But maybe hold off on the chop yet, she still looks like she can put on more weight there, any reason for the switch to 12/12? With them being autos you can keep them 18/6 all the way thru that way plant can get the most out of the light available 👍
@NCbud, Not sure about building some weight tbh, looks like she wants to be left alone and die because I didn't treat her well enough :-D I have a few reg plants in the same tent (and in a DWC system) and I only have one decent tent (and space for it), other plants were at around week 4 when I planted this one, that's the reason for the switch. I'm usually having veg outside of the tent in smaller pots and in the tent it's always 12/12. Not sure how to manage it with a DWC now though - maybe I'd keep them in bottles Kratky-like and then would move to a flowering tent.
Sooo this diary is more about how NOT to grow autos :-D but she also started flowering surprisingly early, I don't see how I could trigger that
@yan402, nope, only those, and the soil was canna bio terra plus (supposed to be organic). A few grow tablets and a few bloom ones, some booster granules in the beginning. I think some of those were mineral nutes. Blaming myself now I think I just was too negligent at some point I guess, heavy tip burn is kinda an obvious signal. Well, you burn some you learn some eheh
@yan402, I cut her, the yield was a joke :-D I didn't even take pictures of what I had since it was a miserable amount of tiny buds :-D
Buds were ok, stoned effects as advertised and sweet berries in taste/smell but I ruined the grow by overfeeding her to death, that 10mS EC was waaay too much and I noticed way too far in bloom
I still have a couple not yet popped seeds so I hope to run another time trying to take mistakes into account
I wish I could grow her outdoor tbh, I don't see any point to grow autos indoor tbh
