Very excited to grow these much hyped F1 seeds from Royal Queen. Due to the current insane electricity costs I've decided to grow them outdoors. I did however germinate indoors in a heated propagator under 48w LED propagation lights. I sowed directly into compost mixed with perlite. I was delighted to get all 5 to germinate. I will keep them indoors for a week or two depending on weather conditions then I will move outdoors and transplant into larger pots. I Haven't fully decided yet but I'm thinking I'll use a supersoil mixture to keep things easy.

Kept the plants indoors for now as the night temps are still around 8-10C outdoors, eager to move them out but being cautious for now. They seem to be coming on well so far . Fed very lightly but will increase in the week ahead.

The temperatures outside in my polytunnel are now high enough to plant the plants out . Although night temps are sub optimal at around 10C. I transplanted into 10ltr pots in 50% well rotted garden compost mixed with 50% reused coco/perlite mix which I sieved . I added bat guano, mineral magic and lava dust . My soil mix is testing at pH 6.5. I'll add water only for now and plan to use homemade compost teas in the coming weeks. I might top dress with more guano mid flower if needed.

What a difference a week makes ! I'm fairly surprised at the speed of growth in just a week especially the larger two , I've only watered twice over the week with water only . No problems at all , looking forward to seeing hoe they are in another week.

Taking a good stretch in the past few days and showing early flowers. I've been watering everyday due to the high temps and fast growth . There's been a bit of slug and snail damage but nothing too bad , I put copper tape around the rim of each pot to stop them which seems to have worked. Still no additional feeding has been needed but I think ill use a tea in the week ahead .

Still stretching quite alot , not an issue at all though ,plenty of space. The slug and snail problem has completely stopped since my addition of copper tape around the pots. Fed with a homemade tea made from bubbling a bucket of water, garden compost and high phosphorus bat guano. Other than that water only. I will probably feed some liquid seaweed in the week ahead and repeat the tea the week after.

I had a few issues in the last few days . Temperatures have been very high , far to high in the polytunnel 38°C , I moved the girls outside for now , when I was moving them I found a bit of bud rot on one of them which I removed immediately after which I carefully inspected the rest. Feeding wise I've just been giving them seaweed .

I was very disappointed I ended up with so much bud rot on the plants , I had them in my polytunnel where the humidity was 70+ so this was certainly my fault. In retrospect I should have moved them outside but I left them in because I was concerned about neighbours seeing them. Other than that they grew fast and uniformly . My soil mix worked well , the plants didn't seem hungry or deficient at any point . I'll try these again indoors , maybe in hydro .
