Silver Haze w/ Timelapse

These 3 Shining Silver Haze cuttings are taken from a mother which was the best of a 5-pack from Royal Queen Seeds. All 5 seeds produced fine results, but the best was an incredible plant well worth the minimal effort required to keep a mother. I trimmed the cuttings, shaved half-inch from the outside and split the root end with a stanley blade, then dipped the root in clonex gel before planting in 1 gallon pots filled with a coco/perlite mix. Will be spraying the leaves with water and keeping vents closed for a week until roots develop.

Sprayed the clones with tap water and kept them under a dome for the first few days while roots developed. Began adding nutrients around day 5 - just 0.5ml/l of Vitalink Coir Max A+B and 0.5ml/l of Silicon Max and Fulvic for the early stages. Starting them off in a 3x2 tent in my hallway where the mother is kept until transplantation when they will go into the 4x4 for final veg and flower along with 2 different plants/strains I've germinated from seed.

Signs of new growth coming through this week which is encouraging. It's only the second time I've taken cuttings (the first time being the pheno hunt for the mother of these plants) and both times I've been surprised at how easy it is. My method, after watching many "how-to" YouTube videos, is to spray the cuttings with ordinary tap water for the first week-10 days while in the propogation tank, keeping humidity at a maximum and gradually open the vents to get the cuttings used to a less humid environment before removing the lid completely. These 3 will be transplanted to a 5 gallon pot and moved to the big tent as soon as the new leaves are as wide of the pot.

Think I must have forgotten to feed the cutting at the back at some stage. You can see in the timelapse she struggled for a while before bouncing back after a good watering. I never expected all 3 cuttings to make it to the flowering tent anyway, so that plant will be the one that is most likely to not make the cut. Transplanted to 5 gallon pots half way through the week and heavily watered/fed for the next 2 days, then topped for the first time yesterday. The 3rd clone didn't make the cut and is now on my windowsill. Next couple of weeks will be about keeping the plants trained and the same height. 2 timelapses this week. Enjoy!

Topped again today. These plants are exactly where I want them to be at this stage and look in perfect health. These two surviving clones are now at the front and right in the timelapse video. Had to go out of town for a week which is why there was a little standing water in the video. Don't usually do this but was rushing before heading out for a few days. Will be interesting to see how these clones take to the additional nutrients in this harvest. The mother was only fed Vitalink A & B for the entire cycle without any additional feed and is a beautiful smoke. Looking forward to seeing what feeding with the entire Vitalink range can do with these great RQS genetics according to their recommended feeding schedule. Happy growing!

The plants are growing at a good rate now and drinking a litre each per day. I feed them by hand and each plant gets 2litres every other day. Didn't do anything else this week other than install the trellis on the last day. Love the way these genetics grow and fill out the tent. When I was growing the mother in the pheno hunt I remember remarking how well this plant took to being topped. These 2 plants are front and right in the timelapse video.

I'm on holiday this week and next so apologies for no time lapse. These pics are taken from the video stream. The girls are looking healthy and doing well. I'll be flipping to flower when I return next week. These plants are at the front and to the right of the 4.

Got back from 2 weeks holiday and immediately lollipopped and defoliated all 4 plants heavly. Will wait a few days for them to recover from the battering I gave them before flipping to 12/12. These plants are at the front and to the right in the timelapse.

Flipped to 12/12 a week ago. Plants are doing really well and filling the canopy nicely. Been proper busy so time lapses will have to wait until I've more time.

Added Buddy into the feed halfway through this week. Really impressed with these nutrients so far. All plants look happy, healthy and green.

Added some cheap organic feed I bought from Wilkinsons a while back. Both plants looking happy, healthy and green. These plants are at the front and to the right in the timelapses.

Increased Buddy to 1mm p/l. Will be adding PK14 in the next 2 weeks as they're peak flower and will need the Potassium etc. These plants are at the front and to the right in the timelapses.

Reaching peak flower now so added PK into the mix for extra Potassium and Phosphorous over the next 10 days or so. Never had plants soak up this much nutrients without any burn (touch wod) so I'm really impressed with the Vitalink range. These 2 clones are at the back of the tent, and to the bottom and right of the screen in the timelapse.

Buds are fattening nicely and the 2 plants are receiving nutrients well. Will stop the PK in the next few days before scaling back on the A/B next week before fluching for the last fortnight. looking forward to harvesting this clone as I've just ran out of the bounty from her mother. Last day of PK today. Will be scaling back on the A/B next week before flushing the last fortnight. I like to flush for a minimum of 14 days and let the plants age naturally when growing this way in coir, especially as there is literally no fading right now and the plants are holding nutes well. Not adding timelapse this week as I'm running out of HD space lol.

Last week of nutrients finished, plants will now be flushed for 2 weeks. Buds are solid and smell like Diesel with a side of Diesel 😋 I hope to get 5oz from each of these girls.

Fade coming in nicely after 7 days of flush, 1 more week and these girls will be for the chop. Just took more cuttings from the mother ready for the next grow. I love Shining Silver Haze! 😋
