Started both seeds in a damp paper towel in a rubbermaid container on top of refrigerator on 5/3/23. As of 5/4/23 no change but realized top of fridge was just not warm enough. Moved seed container to the top of an inverted plate on a low heating pad. As of 5/5/23 both seeds have taproots (blueberry is a bit longer and thicker while skywalker is thin and curled). Set up their forever pot (5 gallon ac infinity fabric pot with Bottom 2/3 FFOF soil and top 1/3 FFHF soil). 5/5/23 Originally hollowed out a solo cup area but was afraid I would mess them up during transplant so opted to fill in the hollow with FFHF. Lightly watered middle of soil and around very top. made small indentation sprinkled a tiny bit of Great White into that spot and planted seedlings. Placed small clear solo cup dome over each seedling. Lights are 4 feet from pot at 100% Tent was just at 70 degrees so I added a small heater. Temps fluctuated between 72-80 so I went ahead and turned on the small clip oscillating fan hoping to stabilize them some. Humidity is not where I want it but the domes should hopefully help. 5/6/23 seeds have not emerged yet. Will need a humidifier for sure. Trying several pots of water around tent. Humidity is around 50 still. 5/7/23 seeds have emerged from soil. Blueberry has helmet head I am going to see if it will fall off on its own today. 5/8/23 helmet head not clearing up so I removed seed VERY gently with tweezers. Came off with a tiny pat or two at the edge of seed pod. Added a regular small room humidifier while waiting for ac infinity humidifier to arrive. Will not ship until 5/15 😢. However this is keeping humidity closer to 60-65% so better. I checked par readings and lowered lights to 24 inches above seedling. Lowered intensity to 40%. Not sure if I should remove domes or keep them on. Misted around the dome with R/O water. 5/9/23 Have first set of serrated leaves! There is a tiny spot of yellow on one cotyledon leave of blueberry seedling but I THINK that is normal? See pictures

Is that yellow on the cotyledon leaf normal? 2 days post sprouting and that one had helmut head the first day. I was able to remove seed pod by lightly lifting the edge of it with tweezers.

i'd wager the soil might be a little hot for the seedling, but it seems to be hangin in there. reducing VPD with the dome during seedling stage helps reduce how much the little plant draws up from the soil. so you are doing what you can to reduce it already. (still have to harden it off, but it'll be fine) did something with fertilizer possibly drip on the leaf? another possiblity. it looks fine though. make sure it isn't progressing and if not the cause has abated.

Should I keep domes off or put them back on? 2 day old Skywalker and Blueberry Autos. Tent temps stay between 70-77 with an occassional spike to 80 if heater runs a little longer on that particular cycle. Humidity between 55-70 again dependent on if heater is on its on cycle.

Hello CannaMom, domes are only for clones! When you grow from seeds you do not want to use domes because you want the roots to suck up water from the soil and the leaves to evaporate the water so that the roots are able to suck up more water up again. This is nature's way to transport water inside the plant. You should see the water (with nutrients) like a pearl necklace, all the water drips are attached to each other. And the leaves need to evaporate water to stay cool and while evaporating the roots will be able to suck up more water because of the created vacuum inside the plant. Nature is a beautiful thing! Enjoy your grow!

So Far so good. Added a Vivosun seedling mat to try to keep temps a little more constant. Heater still causes too much fluctuation as it kicks on and off. Will see if this actually helps. Blueberry is still conisderably smaller than Skywalker. Seem very delicate still so watering very carefully away from the stems. 5/17 (Day10) Introduced my own version of a heat lamp and it seems to have done the trick as far as steady temps. I took an 8.5 inch reptile clamp lamp and removed the clamp as that felt unsafe for inside my tent. I put the shade of the lamp into a terracotta pot upside down so the bulb was facing up and the cord running through the bottom, I then placed a 100W ceramic heat emitter bulb (no light) into the ceramic bulb base and placed this into my enclosure between the 2 ladies. The temps have held steady all day and all night. Since blueberry seems to be the most fragile still and a little behind in growth I placed the seedling mat under that pot as I could not get it under both. 5/18 (Day 11) upon inspection this morning, not only did my temps stay right where I set them as witnessed by my govee hygrometer/thermometer app and the Ac infinity controller 69 app but the plants seem very happy. Will take pictures later today to post. 5/20 (Day 13) Watered today with 1/4 strength cal/mag and readjusted lights to make sure they are at 18 inches above canopy. Getting a set of 5 finger leaves on each plant.

The week is starting off great. Second set of 5 finger leaves are growing on both plants. Blueberry is just destined to be a smaller plant. She is a good 2 inches smaller than Skywalker. That being said they both look great. Day 15 I raised light output to 60% and adjusted to keep 18inches from canopy. Book says lights should be 18-24 nches and 80% during veg so I am slowly upping the output of the lights. Not sure they need that full 80% just yet. Day 16 I noticed a few microscopic white bugs in my soil and on th edge of the fabric pot. I also noticed a bit of damage to one of Skywalkers leaves. (I left the tent open for about 3-4 minutes when I needed to step away and I am thinking my crazy kitten took a small taste rather than it be insect damage) Freaked out tried to get best pictures and took pics to my local grow store after researching online. I bought some Mammoth Cannatrol and shop owner said to water it in 30ml per gallon. I will do this tomorrow as that is my watering day. Day 17 Adjusted lights to keep 18 inch clearance, still see these tiny white bugs in soil not many but still concerning me so I watered as suggested with the Canntrol. Upon more research the tiny bugs MAY be soil mites as I do not see them on the leaves or the underside of them. Measured plants today. Skywalker is 6 inches and Blueberry is 4 inches. More new growth and starting to look much fuller. I am thinking of doing some LST but I still feel they are a little fragile for that. Day 19 I am pretty sure those are soil mites as there are still none on plants and no damage o leaves save the spot I think my kitten got to. Skywalker is really thriving 7 1/2 inches compared to Blueberry 4 1/2 inches. I raised the lights a little more to try to force blueberry to reach a bit. Day 20 Watered to runoff with 2ml/gal of cal/mag added to water.

Day 22 Skywalker is looking good at 11 inches tall. I tucked a few leaves but don't know if I want to tie down the top on this first grow of just let it go. I will keep tucking leaves and LST and leaves that are blocking new growth. Blueberry is measuring 6 1/2 inches. She is still short and bushy with way too tight nodes.. Raised lights a bit more trying to get blueberry to keep stretching. There are the few big leaves and a BUNCH of small shoots very tightly pakced together under them. Tried a little to lst but so close together it just isn't happening yet. Day 23 Raised lights again. I WILL get blueberry to keep stretching, LOL. She is really perplexing me. Watered about 1/2 gallon straight r/o water today per plant. Blueberry measures at 8 inches. Skywalker is still going strong and is now 12 inches tall. Started a little LST on Skywalker. I really have no idea what I am doing other than opening it up by tying down some branches. I did NOT bend over the top as I am afraid it will snap if I do. Also tried to pull one of the tiny Blueberry branches out and down. If she does not freak out, I will try to do a few more of them and hopefully fix her tiny little bushy self. Day 24 Adjusted light height and LST ties, Skywalker 13 inches tall, Blueberry 8 inches tall Day 26 Started with raising the lights a bit to keep distance. Then did a water 1.5 gallons total between the two ladies. Added 2.5 ml of Cal/Mag and 1/8 tsp of Great white to RO water. No runoff today to test. Skywalker is now 15 inches tall and Blueberry is 9 inches tall. I defoliated Blueberry a few of the fan leaves to help that bushy small growth reach then I LST those small branches. Skywalker only needed 1 fan leaf removed and some more LST adjusting.

if it isnt a dwarf, light intensity is the key here. reduce it. node spacing dictates light intensity. too tight? needs less.

Day 29 started out today with a full water. Added 3 ml/gal of Ca/Mag and 1/8th tsp of Great White to the RO Water. After watering I raised lights to match the new height and to keep Blueberry moving upward. Ladies are looking good but Skywalker is really getting tall. I was orginally NOT going to LST her much at all just move a few stems when they needed it but she is 19 inches tall and still going so I tied her very top down just about 60 degrees to slow that upward progression. Her lower half has been spread out and LST with very little defoliation. I may need to remove all the big fan leaves. There are still a few down there that are just tucked as of today. As far as Blueberry goes she has reached 12 inches. She has been defoliated of almost all her big leaves and is still pretty bushy. I LST all of her smaller growth out to try to get as much light as possible to her. Hopefully she will give me a bit more stretch as she seems so tiny compared to Skywalker! Day 30 Finally received my ac Infinity humidifier so switched out the crappy one. Crazy what a difference that made. Set it up to use VPD trigger and wow!!! My vpd is on fire! Humidity stays super constant and is higher than I thought it needed to be per a chart I have. Little LST adjustments and a few leaves removed but nothing major. Day 31 LST and defoliation today. Rotated plants 180 degrees. Looking good. Blueberry has reached 13.5 inches! Day 32 Full water to runoff with 3ml/gal Cal-Mag and 1/8 tsp of great white. Runoff ppm for Skywalker is 664ppm and for Blueberry is 888ppm, Next water will include a feed of Bloom nutes. Skywalker is 20 inches tall even after the 4 inches I bent her top stem down on Monday. Blueberry is 14 inches and looks so much better. Did a light defoliation of light blocking leaves and adjusted lights and LST ties. The bushiness that was right against the stem has moved outward with the LST and is looking so pretty now! Day 33 Snipped a few light blocking leaves from both ladies. Skywalker is now 21 inches and Blueberry is 15 inches. I put Blueberry on a 2 inch riser to keep up with Skywalker a bit. Her main stem is still a bit lower than Skywalker so hopefully she will continue to reach. I needed to get alot of that lower growth closer to the light as it is now not hidden at the main stem and is developing some great bud sites.

Day 35- Watered today with first round of bloom nutes. Used Sensi Bloom parts A and B at 8 ml/gal each. Need to keep up with more Calmag as Skywalker has a few leaves with brown spots. I was a little shy of overfeeding during veg due to having such good soil. I never needed veg nutes. I was using RO water and now I think I should have been adding the calmag every water. Live and learn! Skywalker is 22 inches tall with alot of budsites. Blueberry has really started to catch up. She is 17 inches tall now and all of that short bushy growth has taken well to LST and she looks good. Day 36- New plan is to calmag everywater due to using ro water and to use the bloom nutes every other to every third water based on runoff ppm. Skywalker 22.5 inches Blueberry is18.5 inches Day 37- Skywalker is 23 inches and Blueberry is 20 inches. I am on the fence about watering today or just waiting until tomorrow. Top of soil is definitely dry but I don't want to suffocate them either. DECISIONS!!! LOL Day 38- Watered today with 5ml/gal CalMag and 1/8 tsp Great White. Some leaves on both plants have brown spots which I am thinking is cal-mag deficiency, If it gets worse I will post photos. Skywalker is 24 inches and Blueberry 20.5 inches. Day 39- So new problem, as I lower the humidity for flower I am having trouble with tent getting a little warmer than I would like. I added small fan to intake port at bottom. I also raised the power of my inline exhaust to 7. Tent is definitley under some negative pressure due to that high exhaust but I am trying to get the temp and humidity to my sweet spot. Had it all perfected before flower, I will get it! LOL On a sad front, It seems I am definitely dealing with some deficiencies. Day 40- Heat got up to almost 80 last night AFTER lights out. I think it is due to the fact the house AC does not run as much at night and the humidifier condenser is warming up the grow room. Humidifier is NOT in the tent but it is still warming up the air in the room. Emailed back and forth with Advanced Nutrients people. Seems what I am dealing with my actually be lock out. She told me to water normal nutes tomorrow and check my runoff. Finger crossed! Day 41- Watered to runoff with some defoliation of the worst looking leaves. I am in lock out! It had to be me using Cal-mag with the bloom nutes. Lesson learned! Advanced Nutrients rep says "With the runoff sample if we're at pH 5.7 or below it may be a sign of a lockout which would warrant flushing the plants however if we're above that pH reading in the 6's etc it will be a sign of nutrient uptake and the plants needing more nutrition". Well unfortunately my pH of runoff is 5.04 I have been putting 800-900 ppm in nutes. My runoff is 874ppm :( time to flush. This sucks!

Day 42 Well flushed yesterday and the ladies are HOPEFULLY out of lock out. They are looking pretty sad and hungry. Day 43 Looking worse today. More yellowing ends, burning tips, and spots. Hopefully can water with nutes tomorrow. Day 44 Watered today with 8 ml/gal if Sensi Bloom parts A and B and nothing else. Did 25% runoff. I am so worried I haven't solved the lockout and want to make sure to get plenty of runoff from now on. Decided not to defoliate since those leaves are already bad, letting them stay until I see if the problem has stopped. More sickly leaves would mean I am so not out of lock out. PLEASE CannaGods let me be out of lock out! LOL turned lights up to 90% at advice from ac infinity. Still 18 inches from canopy. Day 45 Went ahead and defoliated all the bad leaves and alot of the light blockers today. Figured I need to see if more leaves get affected. Got a new toy! Handheld microscope that hooks up to my phone for pictures. See 2 pics of skywalker upper flower above taken while I was figuring it out. Was afraid I had a hermied blueberry so I used the microscopt to take a pic and all is good! Day 46 Water plain R/O Looks like I may not have removed the nutrient lock. Runoff pH is 5.6 for Skywalker and 5.7 for Blueberry but they are continuing to look sicker and sicker. May need to flush again. Day 47 I cannot look at my foor girls starving so I guess lets try 1 more nute round and if it doesn't work then I WILL flush again. I HATE flushing! Watered with pH 6.3 nutes at 3/4 strength ppm 954. Skywalker runoff is 5.7 pH and ppm of 1062. Blueberry is pH of 5.8 and ppm 713. BLueberry looks much healthier than Skywalker but definitely not eating her wheaties! I will flush this weekend.

Day 49 Flushing again today. I tried giving a stronger nute solution incase the starving was that but alas, runoff numbers showed it is still in lockout. PH and ppm before flush for Skywalker pH 5.61 and ppm 7.37 and before flush for Blueberry pH5.75 and ppm 737. Did a crazy amount of flushing but used tap water even though my tapwater pH is 8.2 as I was not spending an entire day using ph down in buckets. Once felt they were flushed enough, I used 2 gallons of R/O water per plant for final flush. I then took a fellow growers advice on here, Thank you @NegotiatedBubble, and gave them a light feeding even though I knew it would wash mostly out just to get them started in the right direction. Into tent, Runoff pH 6.55 and ppm 238 for Skywalker and forgot to record Blueberry but she was very similar. Day 50 Woke up to such a bad looking plant I did something very drastic and gave them a LIGHT watering of 1/2 strength nutes ppm of 650 and pH of 6.3. I did not get runoff just wanting to stop them from cannabilizing themselves if I can. See above pics. All of that happened since my watering yesterday. Day 53 Watered to Runoff with 12ml/gal of Sensi Bloom A and B. Still seeing that weird issue where after mixing I get 5.83 pH which is NOT pH perfect so I adjusted pH to 6.2 and ppm were 964. Skywalker still looking like total crap now. Blueberry has some damage but not nearly as severe. I has to be these nutes . I even emailed the company and asked them about the pH issue since it says on the bottle and the grow store people told me I did not have to check pH when using so my dumb *ss did not and that has to be whey these issues started. I am slowly corrcting them but I am afraid the damage has already severely lessened my crop. Skywalker runoff pH 5.5 and ppm 819. Blueberry runoff pH 5.8 and ppm 819. Next 2 waters will be no feed and we will see how that goes. ( So I did a little experiment after this and found out not only do my nutes pH lower than they are supposed to but when I take some of my FFOF directly from bag and run a slurry test the pH is low there as well. Website says the soil pH in the low 6 range yest my soil is mid 5 range and obviously not good. Next grow there will have to be some changes.) Day 54 I THINK the damage is not progressing but I am not sure. I defoliated a bunch of the damage from skywalker. I was afraid to take all the damaged leaves as she will soon be without any if I do!

Day 56 Water with no nutes today. Water pH 6.4 Runoff of Skywalker pH 5.58 and ppm 377, runoff of Blueberry 5.56 and ppm 742. Still carefully tending these ladies to correct the issues from pH causing lockout. Remember people just because the nutrients say pH perfect please at least occassionally check your pH of solution and runoff. Really screwed up a beautiful start with the pH problem. Was nota build up of salts because they had only had 1 or 2 light feedings when the trouble started. Day 59 Due to last watering readings, I decided to give Skywalker a bit more nutes and Blueberry less. Skywalker water in 6.27 pH 1002ppm and runoff is 5.65 pH and 1000 ppm. Last water was only plain r/o so I am happy with that. Blueberry got water in 6.29 pH and 507 ppm. runoff 6.01 pH and apparently I forgot to write down runoff but I know I was not super happy with it. Will keep an eye on her for sure. I think she may be slightly cal/mag deficient which is causing low uptake of other nutes.

Day 64- Watered with R/O water only. Skywalker runoff is sky high at 1899 ppm and 5.5pH. Ran several gallons of R/O water to bring ppm down to 1250ppm. Blueberry 967ppm and 5.76pH. I read somewhere that Foxfarms Ocean Forest seems to buffer the pH low. I am thinking of trying a different soil on my next grow as this concerns me when I get my runoff numbers. I may just try to add a little dolomitic lime to the soil mix and more perlite if I stay with Ocean forest. Day 65- I think all of those pH issues has caused me some serious stunting. I expected these buds to look bigger by now. Day 68- Watered with r/O water and 1.5 ml cal/mag per gallon. Water in is 6.27 pH and 371ppm. Runoff for Skywalker is 5.7 pH and 849 ppm. Gave blueberry a little flush as she seems to be heading for a lockout then watered her with 6.3 pH and 981 ppm. Blueberry runoff is 5.6 pH and 991 ppm.
