Planted seeds in small plastic containers with normal soil bought from the grocery store. Currently 2 50W LED lights are above the plants. LED's are from china. Note : Didn't make a picture in the first week so I used a picture from week 2.
I tried to automate the LED lights so the lightcycle was a bit inconsistent. (It was successful though.) All seeds germinated, having in total 5 plants. 1 Big Bud Auto, 3 BCN Critical XXL's and 1 Auto Mazar.
Moved the plants to buckets. I made holes in the bottom of the bucket and put some shards over them so water won't have a problem getting out. Still using earth from the grocery store. Thinking about starting with fertilizer (maybe next week?).
Also made 2 new lights so there are now 4 50W LED's. 1 plant doens't have a direct light above it but it seems to be doing fine for now.
PS : Added another plant but this one is of unknown origin, the seed was over a year old and honestly wasn't expecting for it to germinate,
Plants are doing well. I also started adding some fertilizer to them. (Will update) The only plant that reacted badly to the fertilizer was the one of unknown origin (it is also the smallest), it started yellowing so I reduced the amount of fertilizer and that seems to do it. Also moved the lights a bit higher because they are growing quite fast.
Last saturday I built a DIY Grow tent, I know not the best but more than this I don't really need at the moment.
Ending of week 5, 1 plant (a BCN Critical XXL) seems to get a lot of leaves and seems bushier than the other 2. Is this because of light competition?
The red label is Auto Mazar.
The blue label is BCN Critical XXL auto.
The green label is Big Bud auto.
Also added a 5th LED light, coming down to 250W in total.
And we're at week 6! 2 plants already seem to have started flowering. The others I'm not sure about but my guess is they will enter the flowering stage this week as well.
Also the lights seemed a bit too close to the plants so I put them further away from the plants. (Guessing to be about 35-40cm)
7-10-2018 :
Wow they've grown a lot. The DIY tent I built seems to be getting full!
I do regret not putting them in bigger pots though, I have a feeling they would've grown larger.
And here we are at week 8, not as good as a start as week 7. I found out 1 of the plants was starting to make pollen sacks so I had to place it out of the tent. Unfortunately it was a hermaphrodite. I removed the sacks and will continue to monitor the plant in a separate environment.
I have a question regarding my feeding methods, the plants are currently in flower period and I'm using Canna Terra Flores to feed them. The plants recieve about 2-3 ml of this product a day. But is this enough? Should I give more? Will the buds increase in size if I do? Thanks!
As long as you don't see signs of deficiency, then your feedings are ok. Increasing the amount of nutes will only increase the chance of burning them. Buds will not grow very much the first 3 weeks of flower, which if the stretch phase, when the plant grow rapidly to make room for the buds, which is the phase you are in.
This week has been interesting as well, one plant got heavily underwatered and it shows. Leaves were turning dry and were dying off. The situation seems stable now.
2 plants seems to have serious deficiencies, the leaves get brown spots and then they slowly die off. To try and stop this from happening I used some feed for the vegetative growth.
(The one in the picture is the random seed, it's a small plant but it is the most developed. (By far))
As you can see in the pictures the plants seem to have deficiencies, I don't know what it causing it. The buds also don't fatten up as much as I'd hoped. Maybe it is the ground I used so next time I'll get something better.
What I'm using as feed for the plants the last couple weeks is Canna Terra Flores, about 10mL in 2 Liters. (And then use the 2 Liters for 5 plants, on top of that we also water them if needed.)
Hello, I was wondering if you could post pics of your girls without the leds on, and with flash? It's really hard to see them with all the purple light. Good luck on your grow!
Don't be shy here, we are here to help. Use a grow question if you have it? You need to post pics of the issue, full plant and some zoom in shots of the issue. Ask away, no one will give you a hard time, we are here to support eachother and help out. You also don't have a lot of the info filled out like nutrients, ph, ppm/tds, and humidity which will be used to help determine what your plant needs. Please fill out these info so we can help ya, good luck!
