I found these seeds in my Durban Feminised from last year, and i am curious about the quality of second generations from a feminised plant... last year i had to harvest early, this time i start after the summer solstice (so they won't be as big), and i hope they will survive in the greenhouse until November, to try them in all their maturity !
The seeds i found come from a feminized plant that produced her own seeds, are those also feminized? Have you grown this kind of seeds? Are the caracteristics similar to their mother? Or is it a mistake and i will grow hermies ?
I have some breeding experience, and no seeds from feminised seed will not be feminized, its a process you bring onto the plant while in grow phase, where you add silver moliculed water, that surpress a gas which is needed to become a male, and they all become female.
so what you have is self pollinated seed… and will most likely have 75% of being the same as the mother.. it can be a fully funktional seed.. or turn out to be a hermie, just grow it as usually and if it shows signs of being a hermie toss it :)
End of week 1. I learned from my mistakes during the auto batch, i kept those in a warmer and sunnier place, and they are growing fast and strong! Just some sprayed water 3 times a, or less... good growing!
Girls are loving the torture, topped, one got Fimmed, i missed, genuinely. And got in their big pots. Durban simply don't care about stress, she just keeps going. They can become HUGE, so i am planning on building them as short and stocky as i can...
Young Durbans growing strong, they will fill my entire greenhouse if i don't keep topping the main branches, and spreading them. Started adding some Fish Mix. Happy grow to all!
Went on vacations, and left the ladies alone for 12 days, i watered abundantly, and left two 1.5l water bottles with a tiny hole, on each pot. They survived, no problem... i was a big risk. Only problem, they might get too big...
Autumn is near, and Durban Poison is loving it, bud growth every day.
I am happy about handling the size, in a month they will look amazing!
This is 4th week of flowering, it can take up to 12, but the greenhouse will do the trick... it might take less, they are in full flowering now.
The ladies are growing fine, had to add some support to the bigger buds, some purple shades are visible now... will start looking at the tricomes in about a week, it looks like they will be ready by the end of October, early November. Happy grow to you all!
2 main buds had bud rott, I cut them and cleaned the moldy part (they are drying, might give them a chance...), I am hesitant on cutting all the main buds, and leaving the rest 2 more weeks... started giving them only water this week. Almost there!
I have 2 plants from last year’s Durban fem too - I wouldn’t worry too much about getting a bunch of hermies, one of mine is 100% fem and the other one still has to show it’s sex. Unless u live somewhere where a lot of people grow, it’s super unlikely that a bee would be carrying pollen
@LazyLama, hahahahahahah I can only dream of having half his wisdom - that being said, make sure you are checking for pollen sacs regularly. Ill know very soon if my second one is female
I only topped mine 2x, then did a bunch of LST and practiced supercropping. Working amazing for me so far and has kept them under 1m50 (although its main colas are +2m)
