11/04- This is a long post since I havent been posting much. Did my final defoliation for the duration of flower yesterday and Im a little worried that I took too much but I really wanted to open up the bud sites so that they could get as much air flow and light as possible. The buds on #3 are just getting bigger and bigger and are looking extremely dense. The buds on #1 are looking extremely frosty but they are lacking bud density, mostly its just sugar leaves covered in trichomes and some pistols coming out of the top. Thinking about using #1 for hash if it keeps looking like this. I noticed some calcium deficiency starting last week on #3 but wasn't able to get any cal-mag until early this week. I fed #1 with cal-mag even though it didn't look like it needed it to be safe but I haven't had a chance to give it to #3 yet because it hasn't needed any water. They have been drinking really slowly (only needing water 1 time last week) and I'm noticing the leaves at the top starting to get very purple both things I think are attributed to the 59F nights in my basement. So last night I set up a heating system for the tent! I was worried that putting a small space heater directly into a 4x4 tent would be a fire hazard so I got innovative. I decided to capitalize on the large amount of negative pressure created by my carbon filter and fan so I took another length of ducting and attached it to the vent hole at the bottom of the tent. I then ran that ducting about 6ft away from the tent to an area of my basement that was safer to run the space heater. I then played with the speed on my fan to create enough negative pressure to pull the heat into the tent but not so much that it was venting the tent too quickly. This took about 3 hours to get right and at the end I got the room to even out in the mid 70's which is really nice considering they haven't been warmer than 67 in almost a month. Then I set the temp on the heater so that it wasn't running all of the time and would just kick on periodically throughout the day and night. This morning when I checked on them the humidity was a little low but they also seemed to be drinking water again so I am hoping that I will be able to water them tonight. I have been getting nervous because they haven't been drinking much and I am running out of time to give them nutes in flower. I recently realized that I have been using a much weaker nute than I had intended. I have been using FFBigBloom but I found out that I should have been using FFTigerBloom because it has a more diverse nutrient spread and higher values. I have fed them each once with FFTigerBloom so I am and I am hoping to get in a few more before its timre for the flush. Im expecting to be done the last week of december or the first week of January! Super psyched to see how the next few weeks go!
@HighTV, Thanks for checking in!! I've definitely made my fair share of mistakes with this one since it's my first grow but this strain has been extremely forgiving and has been a fantastic one to learn on. I definitely want to run this strain again but next time I really want to get some actual Kens GDP from Seedsman instead of running bag seed. If mine comes out looking anything like yours Im going to be a very happy guy!
It turned out to be a mite called hypoaspis miles. I thought they were spider mites and spent like two weeks trying to kill them until I found out that they were beneficial and kill fungus gnats haha
