Dawg days

Have been practically fizzing this week knowing the end is nigh for lady No1. Ended up giving her an extra day, mainly to prove to myself I could but was up early the next morning resolved to chop. Dismantled her branch by branch but only took the big fan leaves off hoping it will help her dry slowly and ended up with a nice collection of flowers. I’m pretty chuffed to how she has turned out although I know it’s not a massive yeald. Have learned loads though and already planning on what I’m going to change for next time. Thanks to all who’ve shared the benefit of wisdom, the forum has helped immeasurably. Will be back after she’s lost some moisture with a weight check and maybe a cheeky premature smoke report. Thanks gang xx Update: I managed to leave it drying for 13 days in total before taking the scissors to it for the jar. All told weighed in at 33g and as I’m not going to start lying to you now have to admit to being a little disappointed with that. Not sure if my expectations were too high or if it’s because of my novice status ( or more likely both) but still grateful for what I did mange to produce which I have to admit seems decent quality which I believe will only get better with a decent cure. Now just need to stop carrying the jar around like a cradled infant and find somewhere dark and cool for it to rest. X

So gang, think this will be the last entry for my first diary. Before I say anything else can I just send my thanks to those who’ve taken the time to read my ramblings, never under estimate the power of a few positive words and/or advice to those of us starting out! Let’s start with No2 who I took from the drying tent after 10 days. This was about 4 shorter than No1 which I put in her own small mesh net with minimal environmental control and was really difficult to dial in; goes to show I guess the benefits of properly being able to control the humidity and temp. Also because I dried her intact was able to open up her branches during the hang with some notched props which helped circ the air (was quite pleased with that little thought). After a dry trim she weighed in at 55g plus the 30g from No1 leaves me with a smidge under 3oz which I didn’t think was too shabby. No2 is now jarred and holding lovely numbers and No1 has been curing for a little under 3 weeks so obviously I’ve had a nibble or two. Oh she’s a creeper! Still a little harsh maybe but has a lovely mix of flowery sourness which at first just gently caresses your temples with a soothing buzz before she takes a bat and brains the shut out of you! My thoughts are with a bit more jar time she get a little smoother (and more violent!) Lots of lessons learned and now looking forward to grow number 2, have some GG and Strawberry Banana seeds I just itching to try next.
