Hello Everyone! 👋
This is my first diary on GrowDiaries, and I'm hoping to both provide and receive help from the community! Let's grow together! 🙏
⚠️ Please note that I'll be referring to my nutrients in grams/liters instead of ml/l.
🌱 All my nutrients are from growinglifebr.
Firstly, I started by washing my coco with tap water (a lot of it) and then I submerged the coconut for 38 hours in a solution of calcium nitrate with a strength of 5EC. I got this method from a friend on Instagram, @terp.gambler, and also a video on YouTube titled "How to Buffer Coco Coir for Hydroponics" from the channel @Hoocho.
Entry for 19/07/23:
I washed my coco again, this time using the vegetative solution (mentioned in this post) to ensure that my runoff matches the input - 0.7EC (350ppm) and a pH of 5.8. After that, I placed them to rest 💤 inside the grow area with temperatures at 24ºC. Additionally, I soaked all my seeds in a glass of water with a single drop of hydrogen peroxide 56% for 48 hours.
Entry for 21/07/23:
I placed all the seeds directly in a vase (300ml) with coconut peat (very fine particle size) only!!
Entry for 23/07/2023:
🌱 Germination has started 😄
Feel free to let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. Happy growing! 🌱
12/08/2023
Some of then presented a nutrient excess, runoff was 1.5EC 5.7ph so i flushed to 1.0 EC
14/08/2023
Started to prepare the coconut for transplant as described in germination week.
Day 10
Transplanted 200ml to 2.8Liters
1.0 EC PH 5.8 - some N deficiency, next week I will raise it to 1.5 EC
Day 13
Plants start to feel confortable and health, with upper leaves (praying lol).
21/08/2023 - Day 16 of Vegetative:
Plants start to feel more healthy after the transplant and roots growing everywhere :)
Until now plant grow was slow, now the things sounds better...
25/08/2023 - Day 20 of Vegetative:
Topping removing the 6th node.
Defoliation of all sugar leaves.
With current VPD and stage of growth, plants starts to drink around 300ml per day.
Raising EC from 1.1 to 1.6 and adding Magnesium Sulfate 0.2g/L
Moved plant from 80x80 to 120x120
LED Light in 65% - 650ppfd
EC 1.8
Leafs starting to show some problems, life in a hurry, I had to travel to the first "Expocannabis Brasil" so... I'll check runoff only next week
Hard week here...
IN: 2.3EC PH 5.9
Runoff: 4.2EC PH 5.2
The day air temperature raised to 33ºC, its really hot in BR. 😠
So....😤
Temperature raised, Humidity decreased, Coco starts to dry very very fast..... High EC, Low PH... hm...
Flushing them after lights ON with 1.8 EC PH 6.0 and a volume of 2Liters and during the day more 1.3L (per plant)
I will wait for a better healthy before flip to Bloom
As mentioned in week 9, I'm recovering my plants from a nutrient excess. 😢
My runoff was always +1EC and PH 5.3 😑, so I decided to flush with only water with PH 6.0 (about 8 liters per plant).
Now i'm starting to feeding them slowly, starting with 1.3EC -> 1.6EC, and always reading the runoff to understand if I can raise EC on next day.
I also removed all burned leafs to understand if my changes has any positive effect.🙏
Hope to fix everything this week to change them to flowering stage. 😁
I had alot of issues with my environment, tools, auto-watering, So I did alot of mistakes, but I could take some clones that I'll use in a next run but I wont create a new diary for it.
