I’ve decided to grow two of the auto strains that I received for for placing in the May diary of the month. I will be growing two plants in this tent but will be tracking them in different diaries.
This is for the Devil XL Auto. I had three seeds of it, and tried to pop all 3 with a plan to use what appeared to the the strongest one. Two popped, with only one of them looking decently healthy.
It has been planted in a normal AutoPot, and will be feed by drip once the roots have established.
This one is growing nicely. Especially when compared to the other plant in the tent. Very happy with this one so far. Looking forward to the next couple of weeks.
This one is doing fine. I topped her a couple of days ago, and have already removed some fan leaves. The other one that I was growing in this tent wasn’t growing and so I killed her. Very disappointed with the genetics from Ganja Farmer. I almost wish I hadn’t won anything from them, so that I wouldn’t have tried to use their seeds. This grow has just made me angry, cause now I only have one plant in my 2x4 and cannot start another one in the place of the one that I had to take out, cause I need this tent to do the drying of this plant when it’s ready. Very annoyed right now. So far - I hate Ganja Farmer seeds.
08/25:
She has started to enter flower. This one looks like it is going to end up smaller than the last couple of Autoflowers I ran. She is looking healthy and happy with the autopot watering. I’m excited for the next couple of weeks as I see how big she is going to get. I think tomorrow I will use some plant ties to try to help her bush out some more as the early flower stretch starts.
08/27:
I decided to do some light defoliation and some heavy training today. She is going to bush out now.
08/28:
She’s completely recovered from her training in only 1 day and has perked back up and is now growing a nice canvas of buds. Getting excited about this plant!
She is growing very well. She has responded to the training beautifully and appears to be healthy and happy. Don’t believe those that tell you that you cannot train autos. I’ll likely do the first defoliation in the next few days.
She is growing very well. Staying pretty compact now. Doesn’t appear to be stretching much more at this point. She has a pretty sweet smell that reminds me of a typical sativa - citrus, earthy, spice. She looks like she will need another defoliation soon to help with some of the lower bud development. Looking forward to the next week.

She is growing healthy and happy. She is actually much smaller than the other two autoflowers I have grown. And that was not expected as I thought the XL part of the name suggests it should be a large plant. I should probably do a defoliation soon, I just haven’t had time for her. I’ll probably get that done late this week.

I gave her a haircut today. She is very very leafy. Maybe that is what the XL stands for - eXtra Leafy? It’s definitely not extra large. During the defoliation, her terps and smells were strong. She is skunky and dank. Not my favorite smells or tastes, but usually leads to a high that I enjoy.

She is loving life. Starting turn into a really pretty plant. Or so, a plant that I’m proud to have grown. Her flowers are starting to get more dense and fill out. I think I’ll let her continue to drink nutrients for another week or so before cleaning out the water tank and just giving her PH’ed water for the final week or two. Her terps are changing a bit, or I am just warming up to them. Starting to be please with this one.
09/30:
Well she has won me over. I am really loving how this plant has turned out. Even her terp profile has matured into something I enjoy. She actually reminds me a bit of the earthy danky smell that I got from my first grow, Doug’s Varin. She is also a cute little lady. Since that last defoliation, she has just been focused on thinking up her buds and producing LOTS of frost.
I’ve switched her to just water now, no nutes. She has about two more weeks before I chop her down for drying.

Wow she is maturing nicely. The smells… yummy! Citrus, fuel, earth, a bit of skunk. She has completely won me over. He buds are getting thick and dense. I’m betting that this little plant has 3.5oz or greater of tried and trimmed nice buds. She looks like she could be harvested today, but I am going to give her one more week. This coming Friday, I’ll turn off the lights for a couple of days, before cutting her down for drying on the following Sunday. Until then she will just be on water only.

She turned out so beautiful for a little auto. Matured into some pretty buds with purple in the leaves and tricombs. Smells of citrus, earth, skunk, and fuel with a sweet undertone.
I chopped her down today and she is now drying.

Yummy! This turned out great. I’ve warmed up to the terps, and I am super pleased the the look of the plant and the buds. I haven’t smoked it yet but will add a smoke report after a solid cure.
I got 3.63oz of dried and trimmed bud and around 4oz of trim and airy buds that I’ll use for tincture and hard candies.
