cornozito On August 2nd, I put the seeds in glasses of water in a cabinet. Instead of 4 seeds, I took 5 seeds, just in case one doesn't sprout. A clever plan, as it turned out, since the Zkittlez OG didn't work, but both Super Lemon Haze Autos did. I'm really excited about the Super Lemon Haze from Greenhouse because a few years ago in Amsterdam, I had one of my most intense and beautiful highs with this strain (though not the auto version, so we'll see...).
After three days, I planted the germinated seeds directly into the final pot (8.5 liters), this time NOT 1-2 centimeters deep, but just barely covered with soil and then sprayed twice daily with a spray bottle. All are doing well now - however, I had to help three of the seedlings gently remove the seed cap - very uncomfortable to be fiddling around with the little delicate babies - but they made it through.
Since my tent is still occupied with two flowering plants, I treated myself to two Flex 10 LED grow lights from Sanlight, which are optimized for the first three weeks. I'm very excited!

cornozito The Flex 2 lights from Sanlight work great for preparing the new seedlings for the big lamp and allowing two grows to happen at the same time. To be honest, I find the first three to four weeks from seed soooo boring that I'm glad when something else is blooming at the same time - like in this case, my second grow with Pineapple Express and Gorilla Cookies. It's a bit of a race against time: will the blooming plants be ready in time to harvest and make space for the 'new ones'? There's still a two to three week window - I'm very curious! 😲

cornozito The little ones have grown very quickly this week, so today on day 16, I was able to intervene with the Gorilla Cookies using LST. The provisional Flex lights from Sanlight have done such a good job that all 4 have gotten light burn - now I've raised the lamps one level up to reduce stress for the little ones. If all goes well, next week will be harvest day for the big ones, and then the little ones will finally have the tent to themselves with optimal conditions.

cornozito This week, the tent finally became available, so the 4 little ones could move in and now enjoy the big Sanlight light. As far as I can tell, the 2 Sanlight Flex 10 watt lamps have done an excellent job for the first three weeks after germination - but now it was time to increase the DLI to 30 starting from the fourth week. With 24 hours of lighting, two plants fit under one Flex 10, which received a maximum DLI of 20 when the light was positioned close. The day before yesterday, on day 21, I also did the first LST - I call it plant yoga, as my girlfriend finds the term 'stress training' very unloving towards the plants. She has nothing against yoga ;)
