kardel Hi everyone I'm a newbie grower, this is my third times growing with my low budget setup indoor tent and some LED panels since it was only for my use so I will try to focus only how to grow the girl properly before put more invest into it. -After soak in a cup of water for a day the root start to came out and later I using paper towel method and let them sit in my second bathroom for a night -Next day I put them into a little cups with medium -the day after the girls start to thrive, I design to put a cups over medium pots. Aaaaaand the day later I will repot the girls into a grow pots, That's it for the germinate will catch you guys later when they go into veg.

kardel -D1 #1 Start day 1 today , #2 not showing true leaves yet but I think she gonna ready later this day -D2 #2 not looking good might be because of poor setting and way to hot here -D3 #1 start to grow second pair of leaf and #2 is not going to growth so I plug her out of a cup and found root cant grow, SADGE (thinking bout replace with some past strain that i grow before maybe Purple Punch, the best buds i grow so far) -D4 temp is a must to fix for more yield but my condition is not ideal, the girl have to growth in this very very hot here. At least she green more than yellow is fine for me -D5 i lower the light power for her (50%dim) and adjust a light height higher thank to advice. She look less stress. Soil still moist (typically i water her twice a day this early stage) -D6 not sure if she look happier? Normally when i grow through seedling they tend to streching more but weak trunk. This time is my best seedling compare to my previous -D7 just found out today what is ppfd and my setup is at worse😬, higher my panel up to 60cm and dim down to 25%. At the end of the day she look like not gonna strech to leggy so i think the light problem fixed. first struggle week end. Also my soil is reuse, put some boots to her 1/10 the nutes said

Im on day4 for my third time start growing and without temp&humidity kit for the growth (including monitor item) The last two was on the same setup but not as hot as now (over 32-35°c) so i havnt encounter that issue and dont know if my plant is doing ok Best regard

The jagged edges on the leaf margins signal to you that the plant is getting too much light. Way too much for such a little baby. Hang the light higher or dim it. If your temperature is above 30°C, then try to raise the humidity to a maximum. It's best to hang wet towels in the tent; that helps a lot. Good luck and happy gardening 💪😎

kardel D8 - Mistake were made again, I watering her in the morning and pour too much at her root and wash a soil down. Comeback later her trunk cannot stand tall, I put a stake to help her ups and hour later fill pot with a 50/50 peatmoss/perlite. Hope a case is close Just get a temp sensor today, my environment is nothing close to ideal. I only can provide more humidity, tryna bring it up maybe use humidifier later if required After try to push up humid but only reach 70-75%, at first i put the light off during day to prevent heat but cannot control it much more so i switch to turn off at night to give her full sleep with cooler temp D9, at first I willing to deal with hot at my grow room but it really hard. I reposition my tent down to first floor which is living space, I work at home so AC will turn on during days. Temp might reach 30°C. Switch to 18/6. I have 2 little furry friends, That why i dont want to grow down here but sigh, will pick they hair out when it ready to taste 😅 Last checking temp stay around 30°C but humidity drop down to 50-55 D10 - first day of normal light routine . Off at 22.00 On at 4.00 she a bit slow due to recovered from heats but looking good day by day The most first moment that i most waiting for is when you comeback to see plant in the morning she emerg new leaves like crazy is so satisfy and i think it nearly coming D11 - last night i was wish by raining here and rainy season is coming, humidity greatly increase to 85 at sleep time. Hope when she into late flowering a weather is more dry. She grow happier than yesterday, no sign of problem for now Her trunk thickening more and almost out of seedling stage ? D12 - She full recovering at 4th node I guess? Also still on 3 fingers and hope for next nod became more mature. Some clue at node about to branch soon stem look almost ready? Any advice with my thought will be great! Come back late night a plant saw some light stress i pull a panel ups a bit D13 - She more recovered. Patient wait for new branches emerg as for finish seedling stage, give light feed D14 - She seem responsive well with what I feed her, a lot develop on her trunk and look solid today also branch start to thrive. A little sign of overwatering at new foliage look droopy at bottom finger maybe cause by ramp up dosage from 500ml to 1000ml. And yey she develop her new fan leaves to 5 finger is a good thing note: pH pen just arrive and I measuring my water is a much off (far to alkaline around 7.3 tap water) and my pH down will be coming in couple days so she take a pH 7.3 tap water from start and on her day13 i fed her with pH 7 with 1/4 dosage off nutes mixed. End of weeks 2 I done everything can do for now, She seem happy while getting greener. Hope she grow well. Will start LST next week and considering about sCrog

Topping works with autoflowers. Even main-lining. I'm currently doing ML on an Apricot Automatic from FastBuds and it looks fantastic! The thing is, the plants need to be in absolutely pristine condition to avoid jeopardizing the harvest. And most of them are not. Growers take their absolutely weak, already stressed, overwatered, and undernourished plants and then expose them to the stress of topping. That's the problem. It's not that you can't top automatics. That's simply not true. I even have a nearly stress-free technique for topping that doesn't require scissors or a knife. 😎

Lollipopping is something you do much later in your grow, right before flowering. I think you are talking about Mainlining. With regards to the feeding I think you can start watering + feeding a bit more. In this stage I like giving it a rest period of around 4 days maybe even more between each watering but your plant needs a but more feed because the leaves should be a bit darker. Good luck with the rest of your grow

kardel Hello this is weeks 3 , I keep updating daily for my inspection. D15 - fresh week start. She take what her fed well. If i grow correctly in the first place ill top her here. LST in a couple day instead , Set some wire for holding main stem in place. Will tie her down at nodes 6 D16 - seem like branches at deformed nodes are not growing properly, heat coming back again , 33°C at day 30°C at night. Late this day i decide to give some training a little at node 5,6. Tryna maintain 8 nodes D17 - watering 1000ml tap water. Top node will be 1 and 1 branch under top node will be 2 (will pop 1 branch under top node out) numering to 2nd node from below. First nodes will be popping off too. Fix a tie method i adapt from what i saw basementganja grow hydroponic on youtube( I learn a lot from his grow vid) D18 - she adjust well from LST and fan leave at her top shading. Decide to cut one off and 2 from first set of true leaves since they'll dont do much for her. D19 - I think my soil have less nutes leaves color are very soft light green, grey saturate will feed her next watering in a couple days. or end of this weeks. Give her more training with adjust wired and more cut at lowest node. plant start giving little green scent from her wound, I really love this fresh smell😊 D20 - pop internode below top canopy, watering pH water 2L. I decide to give her food from foliar spray insteads. Will feed with water next time before go into preflowering. Her leaves start to look healthy green finally D21 - she stand back again but her lower nodes not stretching enough, put light highup a bit. Final touch on LST for node 6, will add more wired after her new node grow bigger.

kardel Hello this is weeks 4 , I keep updating daily for my inspection. This week will focus on lower nodes. They look healthy but not grow much. Might be from stressing on her seedling times is to much. Have to wait them to go longer and tied them out. Or i will let her go bloom from this spot D22 - little improve from yesterday. Bring light up little more 5 cm to let her stretch a bit. D23 - seem like she prefer bushy grow ?? Her leaves very healthy and no sign of symtomp. Maybe I stressing her to much. Damn hot again, after raining seem always like this. I adjust wired a lil bit, still waiting for kickstart. Finally i got actual humidifier ! More ideal environment for the girl. D24 - let her grow. She gonna showing mature soon. Try to maintain 8-10 branches and cut what it not. Look at her trunks, beauty. Give her 3litre tap water with 4ml micronutes since she look like she gonna grow into preflowering in a couple days. D25 - nothing special. Let her recovering and grow branches. Slowly coming along D26 - she drink more, watering with more dosage of micronutes, with 5 litre tap water, pH6.5 ppm 600 D27 - adjust wired D28 - bushing and bushing, she really prefer this way instead of stretching out. Fan leaves is big as my hand. Comeback later to add final stake for top node. Next week will lst only sub nodes and lower branches. See you next weeks update

kardel Hi GD, this is weeks 5 of this Juicy ! I keep update daily so will be few information today D29 - cant help myself out of curiosity. Give her another hair cut. Just for my experiment and timing. Hope she doing well after this. D30 - still no hair, continue LST then D32 - 5liter nutes mix tap water ppm~700 pH6.5, some stake on lower branches and prunning give new nodes a light. Pistil almost come with hair. Keep checking these for last time major defoliation perform. Should be this week. D33 - Pre flowering come to town. will change from grow boost to flower boost in a slightly portion next weeks, next watering will be only pH'd water Identify it start showing mature, put last stake for main nodes. D34 - Major defoliation today. I decide to continue stress her out daily from start so i take this as experiment. Want to see how she will doing after every training i gave this much. And hope she stretching well into flowering. Calyx start to bulk but no sign of hair today. D35 - she turning maturity. Soil still wet.

kardel Hi GD, this is weeks 6 of this Juicy ! I keep update daily so will be few information today D36 - She still in preflowering, but i put it flowering stage here. she bushing out and should ready for taking off one day on this week for sure ! bless me. Question here, Do I decrease grow boost and just put cal-mag ? or N still a thing on this period. I have weird nutrient here from some grower that sell a stuff so cant tell what in them. this also thing i have to upgrade next run. but I got prebloom and bloom boosted from them. They recommend put it when flowering. I believe that they still have N in it since i face N lock from previous growth. D38 watering with slightly cal-mag add pH6.5 450ppm D39 defoliation and LST to keep even canopy then lollipopping. D40 keep even canopy.

Based on current week, you are at least 7-10 days into flower phase. You've got tufts of pistils on terminal nodes. you probably have 3-4 more weeks of vege growth remaining as it continues to transition. This can vary quite a bit based on plant. autoflowers are not aliens. they act the same way as photoperiods do except for the trigger to bloom. they want the same ratio of nutes, too. the whole perception that they are different in many ways is nonsense. it's just marijuana plant. Here's what is odd. This plant took a long time to enter flower phase. did you change light schedule or still on a long day / short night cycle? if you changed the cycle, stick with the long night.. if not, no worries. few autos take that long to switch over to flower. some are bred for this trait, because it does improve potential yield. if you had to change light schedule to move things along, it's a photoperiod and the breeder fucked up somehow. if not, it's just an XL auto with a long vege period.

Hello. I saw your question about RH and wanted to give my answer I thought the one you picked was poor. Plants have a hard time breathing (transpiring) under 35% RH same with over 70% RH. I can walk into a grow room and smell if it's too moist. I read a study awhile ago that said white powdery mildew starts around 70* f and 65% RH. In veg try to not be over 60% RH and in flowering keep it above 45% rh to 55% RH. Hope that helps. Chuck.

kardel commented3y ago
@Chucky324,thank you man. I tryna keep them around 65% too since i feel it too moise and soil dry out too slow. And humidifier make tent cooler so i dont need maximum RH. Thank for responding man. Let the girl paid off and will see and improve next time❤️
Terp1
Terp1 commented3y ago
@kardel, what Chucky says is only half the truth. It's mainly and ALWAYS about VPD. You need to strategically use (regulate) temperature and humidity to always provide the plant with the best possible VPD. If the temperature is too high (but you can't lower it anymore) and your VPD drops too much because of that, you MUST increase the humidity. If necessary, even during flowering, over 60%. It's also true that you should keep the RH in flowering <= 55%! That's why you should ideally be able to lower the temperature accordingly to have the right VPD. 💪😎

@Terp1,hey bro. I also got Mold 💩. how much did you remove from your watermelon last crop ? and did same branches buds got more infected? part of learning again 😑 thanks for help brother 🙏
Terp1
Terp1 commented3y ago
@kardel, I cut off all the branches down to the main stem. But it didn't matter... the mold came wherever it wanted. Overall, I had to remove about 40 grams (estimated from the remaining yield). 😐 Keep the humidity urgently at <=50% and set up an additional fan. The plant must always move in the wind. (but not too strong) Good luck bro 😎

@kardel, there’s nothing too much, my Growmie. 😎 Let them stretch and decide afterwards. I always start tying the shoots apart with wires and strings attached to the tent after stretching. You can see a bit of that in the last update. As long as there’s enough space in the tent for it, there are never too many shoots. 💪 I also always tie down the tops of the tallest shoots during the stretch.

@Terp1,Thank alot man! My previous grow was quite a bit not fattening and i keep all branches, That why I always have this question in my head. it might be because of low amount of water that i watering (only 2 liter per 2days, 5gal pot) and no pH measure that times. will let her grow then 🙏

@kardel, I didn't tell you the whole truth. 😅 The very first two shoots, the ones that come out on the leaves with just one joint/finger... I ALWAYS cut these off. 😎

Little tip: even though it's very popular, just skip the paper towel during germination next time. Then you won't have issues with the roots like in #2 in the future. I messed up my last Gorilla with the paper towel too. Just soak for 24 hours and then put it in the pot. Done 😎

@Terp1, Thanks man, i still try more and more method & setup for the growth session Im to far from afford whole system btw, last crop i got only about 20-30g per plant autos and photo was died by heat (it above 38°c that time) and every grow is going to have foxtail (lack of fertirized and too hot i guess?) I try to understand the process before putting more stuff so maybe i have to learning on how to feed and monitoring the plant first Funny story i lost one seed during germination in soil and cannot find it so i got a trauma from that🤣

@kardel, I think you’re on the right track. Most of the learning happens through doing. That means it only works if you can immediately apply what you’ve learned and see the results. The most important thing to start with is definitely a good substrate. I personally use a mix of 60% Light-Mix (BioBizz), 30% Coco (BioBizz), and 10% Wormcastings (also from BioBizz). This gives the plant a good start. Then comes the watering (the quality of the water, pH level, and your watering habits are important here). There’s plenty of info online about that. If you have specific questions, just ask me (preferably via PM). I’ll try to answer them to the best of my knowledge and ability. 💪😎 ps: Yes. Fox tailing can also be caused by too much heat. But it can actually come from any kind of major stress. Usually, though, it’s the heat.
