Clones from a mother plant that already has produced some nice buds using BioCanna fertiliser.
Using these fertilisers has always been very challenging so this run will use their soil but Canna's mineral fertilisers instead.
The results are already so much better...
Strong clones with some transplant stress and thrips that will be dealt with shortly.
Topped all of them. FIMing doesn't have an effect on DSD33. It won't develop multiple branches from the cut, but i will develop strong side branches.
Sprayed with Canna rhizotonic twice according to label instructions.
Nice progress. Increased Terra Vega slightly and ordered Orius predator insects to get rid of all thrips.
Increased water volume per plant to 0,5 litres.
They're thriving. A few leaves overall with burnt tips. Lowered N fertiliser to 4 ml/l.
I still don't own a pH/EC meter so every change I make is a combination of experience and intuition.
Yes, I know I should have a pH/EC meter, but I don't. ;-D
Introduced Orius Majusculus predator bugs against the thrips infestation on day 25. Picked up too late, not sure if enough survived to still be effective. On the other hands, it seems to be under control. I see less thrips and leaf damage than the past 2 weeks.
Switched to flowering fertilizer on day 25 as well.
Maintained 14/10 light cycle.
Thrips infestation is under control. Still doubt the effectiveness of Orius Majusculus because they were picked up too late i.e. too few insects survived.
Increased Vega to max; 7 ml/l
Omitted PK 13/14 after having watered twice with it.
Humidity increased and temperature decreased due to changing weather conditions.
Nice overall development.
Maintained nutrient levels.
Increased dark period with one hour.
Thrips are still there but they don't seem to affect overall development and health.
Found out that the term 'calyx' is not that which can be seen swelling in the last phase of flowering! These are correctly called: 'bracts'!
Maintained nutrient levels but decided to omit fertiliser from now on on i.e. will passively flush for the last 10 days or so.
They should be ready around day 65.
Even though I spotted a live Orius Majusculus when I thought they all had died the plants all have a lot of ugly thrips damage which, fortunately, doesn't seem to bother them much!
This phenotype doesn't show any purplish colours which I've seen in many diaries on DSD33. Any thoughts on how this green phenotype compares to the purple one?
Anthocyanins are what brings out the purple...you can try dropping your temps to help get that color you desire 😉...also in my experience its mostly just bag appeal.

Watered twice with Boost and Cannazym and once with only a double dose of Cannazym.
Watered (probably) for the last time today on day 64.
Will switch off the light and harvest in two days on day 66.
The only challenge were the thrips everything else went as expected. Not sure if I will grow it again though as I bought these seeds primarily because of the stated yield of "up to 700 g/m2.
It simply doesn't get anywhere near to this claim.
I know that colour doesn't affect potency but it can be a characteristic of a specific phenotype, the physical expression of the plant's genotype. I would like to know if anybody has seen clearly distinguishable phenotypes of DSD33 from different mothers, purple or not.

Some strains get real purple all on their own and some can get purple from colder temps. Its the autumn effect.
Something happens to the chlorophyll in the leaves and they amber or purple up.

There’s always gonna be distinguishable phenotypes growing from seed.. just the nature of cannabis right now. Some companies are getting closer to honing in on homogenous expressions. But you’ll see it even more so when you’re dealing with a dozen different companies making ( the “same” dosido 33) seeds from likely different parents as well..
And yes I have actually seen different expressions of that just click the link there to the strain you’ll see for yourself
